i suggest you give blake sitched loafers a go. things you suggested are either goodyear welted or thick rubber soles. which is great for wet seasons. but having a blake stiched loafer with thinner sole is unbelievably comfortable for summers. and such an italian summer vibe

on the 'beefroll' they are called that because if you look at the sides of the vamp, they have what looks like a beef roll. 'beefroll' is a common type of penny loafer design.

When you say you went a size down do you mean a 1/2 size or full size?
how do the b&w loafers fit? on their website they say to size down 1 size. did you do it?
I bought a pair second hand 1 sz down and they’re super tight 😢 if I buy brand new it’ll be a half size down
