Amazing video, definitely make more like it.
Always interesting to see how easily people believe they’re “too smart” to fall for propoganda
Like the Ukraine war
@Chickenlover yup good example, some people really fall for it and think there are nazis in ukraine lol
@@chickentoucher55 exactly, all those Russians justifying the war crimes and land grab that their country is doing Ukraine war are people who think their Russian state media isn’t propaganda
@@chickentoucher55 Or people think that either side is winning hard while the reality is that the war is going to be long and brutal
I always say that to myself as i fall for propaganda

You're joining the Air Force??! I'm learning to play Great Balls of Fire on the piano!
Despite the fact that top gun was navy
This video is so true, my dad's only news source is Fox News and he watches it all day. The biggest problem I have with it is how much of Fox News is opinion while only a conservative voice is present. Without any opposition to call out logical errors or disagree in any way, increasingly extreme and ignorant ideas are normalized. It takes effort to form an argument and disagree, it's much easier to go along with what the person on TV is saying and when you watch for hours and hours a day, being critical of the ideas is difficult.
If you watch something like CNN its the exact same but for the left. There's no winners here.
So... CNN is okay then?
Thats literally every mainstream news channel. Even if Fox is one of the worst offenders.
@@jacobbambam5460 OP didn’t say anything about CNN so all you did was prove this video right by using a strawman.
And most evening shows in cnn are sensationalism but they have a couple programs that are solid (weekend programs) and they have a good investigation team doing actual investigation. However, the popular evening shows are the worst of cnn. Still much better than Fox News.
Lol. And I’m sure when you go to university, or have already been, that you will have differing opinions from your peers, instructors, and administrators.
Give me a break, you’re no different, nor are you self-aware
if you smoke and believe that it is unhealthy, it IS NOT cognitive dissonance... you might just not care about it
One thing I think you should have mentioned is that simply thinking about the information you have jut received can greatly help. The book Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman explains how we have 2 systems of thinking, and allowing the second more logical system we learn to digest information through critical thinking rather then emotion.
I got that book for Christmas. Looking forward to digging into it.
News sites should provide news not talking about if they lean left or right or showing signs of their political stance
The advice on seeking information from several different sources, is a good one, something the youtuber himself should do.
*nothing will stop the return of the sith*
Damn. This video got buried by the algorithm.
This video changed the title like five times already.
I’m gonna argue that some people who are very politically charged are unwilling to look at the other side or won’t even consider listening to a opinion they don’t agree with.
When I see other people with their different opinion, I wonder why the hell, they are not in prison
An unintended excellently ironic transition to an advert mid video, with the naration reaching the word "so" and the advertiser completing the next sentance seamlessly with, "if you want to improve your..." Clearly this won't happen to all viewers, but it really served to highlight the topic for me! 🙂
You can call literally everything propaganda it no longer has any meaning
Hard facts and unbiased reporting can never be propaganda.
@@ConradNeill You have to determine what the "hard facts" are and an "unbiased reporting" is first. Sometimes those facts aren't as clear-cut as you think, and the report an inherent statement in itself.
People believe anything they see on a screen. They hardly think about what they see.
Hi, I really like your videos and I also use ground news from time to time, but I have a few question. Who decides how a post is either left, neutral or right, what do they base their choice on, what exactly does left or right mean for/in ground news and how can I be sure If they (gn) aren't also paid to show or have a certain bias?
I guess you never can be sure about any news source etc., but since I mostly trust this channel and you decided to sponsor the app I wanted to hear from you why you think they might be different, or how the prove they are "innocent".
Happy to hear you use our platform and are thinking critically about the news you consume! This is our primary mission. To clarify, we combine ratings at the media source level, not each article, and use a combination of 3 expert rating systems. You can read more about our methodology on our FAQ pages and reach out if you have any further questions.
Use several news sources ... maybe even international ones. Then read from sources that are not on your political line. The truth is most often somewhere inbetween.
If you want to know more things about propaganda I recommend the book psychology of the Growds by Gustav le bon.

everything is propaganda. and you are not immune it it.
The original title "why you secretly love propaganda" was better.
As someone who watched incredible misandry get spread through memes at my very liberal college, and knowing that a lot of the guys who attended with me are still effected by having that level of hate against us be protected but knowing that any type of backlash against the women and men who spread this hate regularly would cause us serious social and even academic repercussions. I still see it in media. There is a show called fuckboy island, but a show called “bitch island” or “slut island” would never be permitted on modern platforms. It’s more serious than a lot of us realize. UA-cam also only accepts reports for slandering “protected” groups, and men are not included in this. This means that false ideas and hateful propaganda have a very easy pathway on UA-cam IF they target certain “un-protected” groups
Its always the straight white man targeted or murdered by police
Passed over for promotions or paid less
The subordinate of wealth equality
Raped
Murdered
Denied marriage equality
Denied abortion rights to their own body
Being the victim of hate crimes
Exploited or marginalised by the judicial system
Judged or discriminated against because of who they love
Judged or discriminated for their gender identity
Since recorded history began it's always been the straight white man who wasnt "protected" (!)🙄
Once I was concerned about being too concervative-biased, but then I've gone to the university and met people who consume only left-wing media and have pictures of Che Guevara and Mao Zedong on their bookshelves. I was like: holly hell they aren't even trying.
Governments make new laws based on information from google and other companies. It's insane
What’s even more insane is that they are not wholly fit to immediately adapt their regimes, policies, institutions, and legacies into beyond the future. Can they truly keep up with any incoming emergencies?
It's human nature to accept something convenient and alluring such as propaganda. Thus, it's important to accept how we aren't "above the system" and do our best to think critically whenever possible

I dunno man the video of Victoria Nuland ordering the ukranian coup de'etat in 2014 is pretty freaking convincing.

I was getting a bit annoyed watching this as it was clear that very subtily your own biases were coming through and it was undermining your message. However since you explained why this happened in you conclusion I can forgive you, but maybe instead of excusing yourself you can be more aware of pusing your perseonal politcal view first. Thank you very much. I hope to see more excellent video like in the future.
Exactly. It was a full propaganda video. Never mentioning how left wing media can be misleading and fake as well.
Also mentioning hungary but not mentioning the opposition against Orban, who ruined the country once and they did and currently doing constantly lies and fear based propaganda. I mean i agree what OP said about Orbán, but he failed to mention the biggest opposition how they are no better.

Lol, Americans have biggest propaganda apparatus ever in the history of mankind and they still don't realise it.
Great video! I wish everyone could see and understand the topics on this video, this is so important. But not everyone knows how to recognize logical fallacies and we are not perfect, we can always fall for those things. I think we shouldn't americanize news channels on other countries. Altought I'm not saying that news channels are neutral to politics, It's harder for a channel to have an explicit political view when there are 8 or 10 political parties with very different points of views in a certain country, than when there are only 2 like in America. Good news channels still exist, especially in less polarized countries.
Love the thumbnail
Unfortunately, 80% of the people does not have a clue of reality, believe what is convenient and just follow the created fantasies. Documentaries like his could help to demystify and put mythology in its place.
That thumbnail is criminal
Being a similar video creator myself, I can see how much effort you put into this video. But my friend, UA-cam is no more about quality. It's more about quantity these days.

Cognitive dissonance is not knowing smoking is bad and smoking anyway. That's just weighing up the benifits of smoking against the negatives. Maybe hating smoking and doing it anyway counts. A better example of cognitive dissonance is believing that there is no such thing as gender and that trans women are women.
funny how youtube does recommend scam crypto and tesla streams but not quality content like this🤠
The source thing is so annoying. Now it's so easy to quote the source, however so many sites refuse to do so! That is a mayor red flag!
Hi

Analysis of Propaganda. Siegfried Wagner taught me to see through it. Frankfurt OSS Tavistock.
The one I've always wanted to know is "How do I deal with alternative opinions" when my opinion is "I want to live" and the alternative is "someone thinks I should die..." I know this seems extreme, but I grew up gay in the deep south - I have a vivid memory of my sex ed teacher telling the class that the only cure for AIDs was to kill all HIV+ people and "sexual deviants." I remember even at 14 I knew what he meant... He had reasons to believe this, he had science and credible sources to believe that massacring gay people was morally correct, but I just can't bring myself to listen to that. I can't agrue with people who's opinions of gay and trans people advocate cruelty - no matter what they say, it goes against my very core beliefs to belive that repression, segregation, and even outright *genocide* can be okay... I can engage in disagreement, but I have no idea how to respond to the increasing belief that people like me should "just go die."
I suppose this conversation about propaganda envokes this fear in me because it was the most common belief I heard growing up when it came to gay people. That we're all just brainwashed, that if we'd just listen to facts we'd understand why we deserve to die. Part of me still wonders if that's true... It's a scary thought, that if you break your "programming" you might actually be talked into suicide...
Don't forget the fallacy fallacy, which is assuming an argument is not true just because it is fallacious. (Your AOC example comes to mind).
The WUMAO propagandists

Even the idea that Communism ever existed in any community larger than the Paris Commune is propaganda - both from the Soviets and the West. A planned economy isn't communist, unless this planning is subject to a democratic process. Socialism and thereby also communism is foremost defined by a democratic control of the means of production. An authoritarian state cannot be socialist (and therefore also not communist, since that is a style of socialism) per definition.
