Hi and thank you! Unfortunately you are not allowed to camp in other spots other than the designated camp spots in Tyresta (near the fireplaces). It’s however free of charge and no need to register or book in advance, there are always spots available and easy to find a place where you won’t be too close to others.

I am happy to use your help. We want to start the season on this trail. We arrive on May 1st (Sunday) at 0:30 am at the Arlanda airport. How can we get to the beginning of the trail to set off in the morning? Will we buy a gas canister on the trail? I'll be with my wife. Is it possible to take a shower on the trail? If I need to know something more, I will be grateful for the tips. Robert and Monika
The trail starts close to the subway station "Björkhagen" (green line) so if you have a hotel night anywhere in Stockholm you can take the subway to get to the trailhead within 45 minutes from anywhere. Gas canister you can't buy in Björkhagen but there are many shops selling it in the City Centre, some options include "Naturkompaniet", "Alewalds" and "XXL Sport". Many of these reside on "Kungsgatan" in central Stockholm. You will pass through certain villages along the way where there are hostels / hotels with showers but you might need to pay for it. Otherwise there are plenty of lakes to swim in as well. Good luck!

1 May is a public holiday but yes the stores I mentioned should be open from 10 as they are also open on sundays
