We have one and it’s fantastic. We had an MKX and it also, was fantastic. The funny thing is they talk about the body roll in the Nautilus, and they probably would’ve said the MKX was too stiff, even though it is a very European ride. If they had the same ride in a Lexus or Infiniti they have said it was wonderful. So funny, because I got rid of a BMW just prior to trading our MKX and they’re very similar. The only people commenting negatively don’t own one, probably haven’t ever seen one, and certainly haven’t driven one on more than a test drive. The things these guys nitpicked are complete non factors, but they know if they give a positive review on anything other than a Kia, Honda, or Toyota, they’ll get ripped. The materials in the Lincoln are far different from the Edge, the ride is a whole different universe, and the cabin noise is virtually silent. Yes, we owned an Edge before our MKX... We have loved our Lincolns, and I will not put them in any category away from a BMW or Mercedes, especially when you compare their leathers and such. I guarantee our Lincoln will need less visits to the shop than either of those, because we’ve never had tot take it for repairs. So, those of you trying to hate on Lincoln, keep trying, you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.
So you take your own owner experience as a general statement? Way to go... not! Lincoln is not known for its reliability or cheap cost of ownership (check consumer reports and average ratings across many sites). Barely better than BMW for example. But, for the same tag price, you get better interior finish in a BMW.
Platycqb Uh, yeah, I do take my own, personal, direct, real life experience as fact. I hear you on the BMW, but not by much. My main point is that, whatever consumer reports says (which is paid advertising anyway) I take my real life experience over what a magazine says. Our experience has been wonderful and flawless. I’m not sure what else to tell you...
Both Lincoln and Cadillac have the same issues. Overpriced, interiors that aren't class competitive, good driving and overpriced. Did I mention overpriced. All of them need to be 20-30% less. Their products don't marry up with their prices.
@@4gegtyreeyuyeddffvyt Yeah, I used to have a black MKX that I got used. Great daily driver with some luxury features, but cheap to run and repair since it's a Ford. Optics are hit/miss, some people said "it's just a Ford Edge, right?" while others were like "whoaaa I feel like a Russian mobster in this" lol.
FYI Lincoln consistently beats BMW on just about every quality list and has done so for years, so for a nicer interior you get a much less reliable vehicle for a much higher price.
@@waywardboi that's because BMW makes unreliable garbage. BMW buyer won't look at Lincoln. Acura buyer might and we know how Lincoln does compared to that.
Big advantage over most competitors sadly no one mentions: the 2.7 engine has combined injection (both direct and port), so without the issues of direct injection only engines, much more durable. Lexus RX is the only competitor with combined injection.
The reason no one mentions it is because all ford 2.7 liter engines outside of the 2018+ model year Ford F-150 DO NOT have dual injection. The only vehicle Lincoln currently sells with dual injection is the 3.5 in the Navigator. Unfortunately the 2.7 in all other applications is Direct Injection only. Feel free to confirm with the Specifications listed on Lincoln's website along with the parts catalog which only offers a direct injector. I wish they had dual injection.
@@dh4605 Your absolutely right, only the F150s, expedition, and navigator have dual injection, and almost no other fords have them. they could have brought that new 2.7l ecoboost from the f150 on the edge/nautilus but didnt.

I'd agree, I've seen one in person, up close at the PHX auto show. I'll tell you right now, this vehicle being reviewed is either a prototype or has been in an accident.
I agree. I've watched and read a few other reviews concerning the build quality of Lincolns. Ford in general has poor fit and finish right now. great design and engines but executions is cheap.
Nit pick, but I was totally thrown off by the way the hood is not fitted well. Take a look at 9:07 and how the hood cuts slightly into the headlight. It's uneven because it's not the same on both sides. I hoped this car would come in and shake up the segment but it seems like it'll just fall in line.
The drive mode menu settings are for people that want the suspension in sport mode all the time, even when the transmission is in the less aggressive normal mode. Or maybe you want the normal suspension setting to be Comfort in D and have it switch to Normal in S. After that, you just use the D and S buttons as you demonstrated, and you never have to go into the menu again. It is a one-time use sort of thing, but it allows people to configure the vehicle to their liking. Not really an issue to complain about.
I just picked up my new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus and I absolutely love it! I have the bigger, better engine and did not go for the dumb and expensive 22 way seats with massage?! If I wanted a massage, I would drive my beautiful Nautilus to a spa!
For people complaining about the interior of the Nautilus, the Black Label interiors look really nice & I think the next generations of the MKC which will known as the Corsair & the next-gen Nautilus will be major improvements in the interior
Lincoln has come a long way in ten years, in terms of quality and unique design language. The Value for Money is high, but in the the Luxury segment the devil is in the details. Lincoln has more work to do in the detailing and interior material department but I guarantee in the next 2-3 years they’ll be ironed out. Especially with the coming Aviator and the continued success of the Navigator. Excited to see the Black Label trim for the Nautilus!
Wife and I bought a Reserve and love it. The seats fit us great and I agree on the sufficient power of the 2.0. We thought it may be under powered but found it quite competent.
I think from the current and upcoming luxury two-row suv's I would buy this. It's so classy and not too flashy, Interior doesn't have a stupid I pad sticking out only a flushed screen. The name Nautilus sounds Nautical Lol. I'd rather have the loud beep because I'd know the vehicle is locked then a quiet one and it gives you a sense of security which we need here in Florida..
As an avid viewer I have to say you guys have truly spoiled us with high end car video content to the point that when is these "budget" and "peasant" level cars I'm not as interested. To my pleasant surprise you guys always reel me back in with clever and humorous content when presenting the most monotonous vehicles. Thanks for the videos!
Nice review! Minor point, there is a 5 way control on the side of the seat that controls the bolsters, lumbar, and massage without the Infotainment Center. Now if you want to say it’s overly complicated, that’s another matter....
You guys fail to point out the strongest qualities of this SUV. It offers the most luxurious ride quality in its segment. It does not suffer bad NVH like the BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes have. For that reason alone, I would choose this SUV. And it’s actually for that reason why I came to watch your review. I was googling SUV’s with the best NVH ratings, and the Lincoln brand is always in the top 3 where the Germans are nowhere to be found. I have an X3 right now, and as much as I love its handling, the harsh ride and the rattling and wind noises annoy me. My friend’s Honda CRV has better NVH than my X3. The Nautilus will likely be my next car after my lease is over. I understand that you guys are more into sportiness than luxury, but as reviewers, you should still point out the selling points of the car you’re reviewing for the sake of consumers who may be looking for more luxury and comfort than sportiness.
$69k is the same price as a Lexus RX 450h with the Luxury package. That seems like the easiest decision of all time. Even more so if you consider resale value after 5 years.
I envy you guys in the North Americas getting so many brands. We don't get those brands down here. I agree with you guys the price could be its handicapped. Nice review.
Love your videos and reviews. The banter and sometimes different opinions is great. Can you guys also put up US pricing for us Americans who are too lazy to look it up. Even just starting base price on screen would be great.
I F*ucking LOVE Fridays! I am off from work and I get a new Straight Pipes Video! - But I would have to say I would NEVER think to buy a Lincoln or Ford over the Acura MDX/RDX or even an Audi Q5 and calling it a competitor to the Macon is an insult to Porsche - American luxury vehicles cannot touch Japanese or German manufacturers with a 100 yard pole....
My 03 VW honked when locked, but it was a truncated and softer honk. People made fun of it all the time. The horn on my Nissan leaf is the most embarrassing thing, but there was a setting to make it not beep when locking, it just flashes the lights.
As someone who used to valet park cars years ago we constantly had the issue of people walking away with the keys on them. If they turned off the car then they just made our day harder by having to track them down while their car was blocking the ramp. For valet companies this keyless start is an inconvenience and the fact that you can't take the car off park makes it worse. At least put a little place to put the key in like Infiniti (one of the first to have keyless start) did.
The front view reminds me of the older Q5 Version. Almost the same light, with a different grill in the middle ( which is almost the shape of the Kia "Tiger nose" ). The middle of the cockpit, the graphics on the infotainment and Speedo ... Nope ... - But again a cool and informative Review!
this car is mostly for older people .Old people looove touchscreens and submenus and no harware buttons.Especially for climate controls. That's what Lincoln thinks.
There is a recall on the 2019 Lincoln Nautilus that addresses the lane centring system allowing excessive hands-free driving. (Ford's reference number for the recall is 19S02.)
It looks really good from the outside, but that center stack part of the dash is styled liked a cheap chinese back massager from 2004. Thank you, Lincoln, for bringing back actual names for your vehicles. Not the confusing nomenclature that confused pretty much everyone. Cadillac, your turn.
Not surprised by the Santa Fe comment. I leased an XC60 6 months ago and fairly regularly think I should have just gotten the Santa Fe or waited for the Telluride or Palisade. The Santa Fe would surely have less rattles and be in the shop a lot less. The tech stuff would have worked better as well including the rain sensing wipers.
The Santa Fe is no where near the Lincoln. It is a nice car but the ride is horrid, seats are smaller, and the turbo in the Hyundai can’t get out of its own way. But you are correct, the Santa Fe is a bargain. Just sacrifices performance and ride for tech.
I don't find mine to be dated or uncomfortable however I have the base seats, which are still quite a bit better than the Edges I have driven. You really should have tested the 2.7 though, it really is a must have option in this vehicle and makes good use of the "S" button.
The front resembles the last generation of Audi SUV’s. It’s not necessarily bad but makes it look a bit dated and derivative. I always thought the MK series design language was good, modern and unique to the brand.
The Nautilus is definitely is a nice looking SUV and it seems Lincoln is heading in the right direction. As you two stated with the price though, I would probably go with one the competitors. There's nothing really wrong with the Nautilus, but rather more just slightly above average luxury vehicle. Great review as always!
around 4:45 or so... Can't change your seat massagers at the same time? #FirstWorldProblems. Love these guys, Keep the videos coming! I recognize some of those corners!
Nice review, as always. I would definitely choose the Edge over this, simply because of price. Jacob, I don't get your beef with sitting high in the "saddle". I personally like that seating position much better than down low, I feel like I have much better visibility and spacial awareness. But as they say, different strokes for different folks. :)
Great to see a video on something I know so I can compare what you guys like or dislike vs me. I own a previous generation MKX with that grill and yes the new one does look better but also less unique. Went back to check the Macan video as you mentioned price being similar and then checked the used market for 2017 Macan vs 2017 MKX and they are nowhere near. Base Macan is much more expensive than even the 2.7T MKX; too bad because owning a Porsche once in my life would have been fun. I don't care much about sync3 either but I am 100% of the time in carplay so that does not matter to me. Missing heated steering wheel button IS driving me nuts. You wonder if the people building these cars are actually drivers themselves. I have the 2.7T so I have set D and S to be as different as possible so I'll drive S most of the time but I do have the D option to float the suspension and react more gradually to the gas. Also when using paddle shifters to downshit the D will go back to auto but S will stay on that gear(dropping to 1st on a red light).
So is this worth getting over the Ford Edge?

I like your honesty when it comes to comparison to Hyundai SantaFe
Nautilus is the fictional submarine captained by Nemo featured in Jules Verne's novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
Pretty sure it's a shrimp
@@TheStraightPipes I'm allergic to shrimp and pretty sure I am allergic to this lincoln, so, yeah, could be
@@TheStraightPipes More like an a squid with a shell than tasty shrimp.
@@TheStraightPipes Favourite part of the review, other than the outtro (and the wiki page for Nautilus)
@@TheStraightPipes 😄
Both Lincoln and Cadillac have the same issues. Overpriced, interiors that aren't class competitive, good driving and overpriced. Did I mention overpriced. All of them need to be 20-30% less. Their products don't marry up with their prices.
bassandtrebleclef amen to the price cut. I’d only buy one used because their resale price is much less then its competitors.
@notformebeaky eh, it has shit interiors for the price they want. Drop the MSRP 20-30% and the interior is in line for what to expect at that price.
I just wanna say how much I appreciate that you guys were listening to Tito Puente at 7:25
I like you guys. You’re nice to each other and make amusing comments back and forth that make me smile. I watch you even if I don’t want that car.
Thanks!
It looks like a first gen Q7 with those headlights
Better wait for the new Lincoln Aviator.
That's a significantly larger vehicle. The Nautilus does not impress for this segment.
I'm looking forward to seeing the grand touring black label off CPO. Should be around $30+45k then
@notformebeaky not a rip-off sedans have similar bulit exteriors for popular demand the continental did what ever luxury maker does mean front end calm back Crome and rectangular shaping they all do that to refine the looks of the sedans I can name millions even RR (rolls Royce) has the rectangular body shape the phantom for say
That panel alignment around where the leading edge of the hood and the fender meet over the headlamp... Ford quality at it's finest.
Awesome seeing fellow Ontarians doing car reviews
That hood/fender misalignment is criminal.
I'd agree, I've seen one in person, up close at the PHX auto show. I'll tell you right now, this vehicle being reviewed is either a prototype or has been in an accident.
1:02
I agree. I've watched and read a few other reviews concerning the build quality of Lincolns. Ford in general has poor fit and finish right now. great design and engines but executions is cheap.

@@TheStraightPipes right away sir!
You guys are amazing at reviews. Love the attention to detail
9:30 I think ford did those just to advertise that they had 'more gears for better efficiency'.
You guys should have a tv-show. Your channel gives me a house hunters vibe- but for cars. I could literally watch all day
My wife watches house hunters all the time - Jakub
Nit pick, but I was totally thrown off by the way the hood is not fitted well. Take a look at 9:07 and how the hood cuts slightly into the headlight. It's uneven because it's not the same on both sides. I hoped this car would come in and shake up the segment but it seems like it'll just fall in line.
The one I sat in had the most comfortable seats in the lineup. The Continental seats are more adjustable, but not as soft.
loved the ending. loved the fact that you guys change it once in awhile
I work with people who did the interior of the Lincolns. Yes, it's real wood. I can steal some reject parts out of the trash to prove it...
Great review, guys. This car is sharp, but I saw the Aviator at the auto show and it is 🔥
Woke up to a snow day and this video. Hell yeah!
You guys give the best and comprehensive reviews. 👍
That Sync 3 transition back to the in-car shot was poetry lol
Thanks for noticing ❤️
new transition at the end. I like it.
@TheStraightPipes Great Video. Would be awesome to see your comparison drive test of the upcoming 2021 model.
Nice review! Minor point, there is a 5 way control on the side of the seat that controls the bolsters, lumbar, and massage without the Infotainment Center. Now if you want to say it’s overly complicated, that’s another matter....
You might soon get an Oscar for the best film editing
How many times you guys said “cool” in the beginning makes me think of the Office when Jim is talking to Micheal about being “classy”
Love the new close-up panning shots boys 😍😊🙌🏻👌🏻
I gotta get in on that Patreon
I hate the brown screen background
The Matthew McCouaughey Lincoln ads are getting out of hand
Alright alright alright
Lincoln... what are we doing?

$69k is the same price as a Lexus RX 450h with the Luxury package. That seems like the easiest decision of all time. Even more so if you consider resale value after 5 years.
That is completely mind-blowing.
Lexus Rx 450h only has 308 hp meanwhile Lincoln Nautilus/MKX has 335 bhp and the middle estern spec has 346 bhp.
Animol Simon And this one had only 250 hp
Always liked the rear end. Now it's perfect.
Some Kias have a better looking dash
Arthur Embleton they also catch on fire
T_ ALEX bc they just plastic
ALEX 1 So do Ford trucks.

I envy you guys in the North Americas getting so many brands. We don't get those brands down here. I agree with you guys the price could be its handicapped. Nice review.
Jakob's beard is filling in from the bottom up like water poured into a glass.
I like your channel better than redline reviews. Keep up the hard work.
Love your videos and reviews. The banter and sometimes different opinions is great.
Can you guys also put up US pricing for us Americans who are too lazy to look it up. Even just starting base price on screen would be great.
Yes. This video had it
I F*ucking LOVE Fridays!
The Nautilus was the name of Captain Nemo’s submarine in Jules Verne’s, 1870, book, 20’000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Google says shrimp tho
TheStraightPipes I like shrimp better anyway.
Yuri, "I thought it was cool...but not GOOD cool." That's such a Yuri thing to say. You had me cracking up
You know what I mean right. There’s cool stuff, but it’s not stuff that’s cool to me
My 03 VW honked when locked, but it was a truncated and softer honk. People made fun of it all the time. The horn on my Nissan leaf is the most embarrassing thing, but there was a setting to make it not beep when locking, it just flashes the lights.
Great review, guys! Actually the best car reviewers in UA-cam. Keep it up!
P.S. Can you guys get ahold of the new Audi A7?
We will try
As someone who used to valet park cars years ago we constantly had the issue of people walking away with the keys on them. If they turned off the car then they just made our day harder by having to track them down while their car was blocking the ramp. For valet companies this keyless start is an inconvenience and the fact that you can't take the car off park makes it worse. At least put a little place to put the key in like Infiniti (one of the first to have keyless start) did.
Great idea about taking DVP down to Gardiner and establishing a standard for LKAS control!
Thank you for this review. I was seriously looking into this for a new vehicle and y’all made some fair points to look elsewhere.
this car is mostly for older people .Old people looove touchscreens and submenus and no harware buttons.Especially for climate controls. That's what Lincoln thinks.
Yes, old people don't care about the old tech. The pixelated backup camera resolution won't be an issue too.
There is a recall on the 2019 Lincoln Nautilus that addresses the lane centring system allowing excessive hands-free driving. (Ford's reference number for the recall is 19S02.)
Matching the heinous transition from the infotainment system GOT ME 😂😂
It looks really good from the outside, but that center stack part of the dash is styled liked a cheap chinese back massager from 2004. Thank you, Lincoln, for bringing back actual names for your vehicles. Not the confusing nomenclature that confused pretty much everyone. Cadillac, your turn.
you guys need to review the new 2019 Lexus ES, preferably an f-sport model
Not surprised by the Santa Fe comment. I leased an XC60 6 months ago and fairly regularly think I should have just gotten the Santa Fe or waited for the Telluride or Palisade. The Santa Fe would surely have less rattles and be in the shop a lot less. The tech stuff would have worked better as well including the rain sensing wipers.
Very good looking exterior, would love to see some Cadillac reviews from you guys
Great review as always!
i said it once, i’ll say it again

around 4:45 or so... Can't change your seat massagers at the same time? #FirstWorldProblems. Love these guys, Keep the videos coming! I recognize some of those corners!
Luxury cars are for first world people
Great video guys! Keep it up :)
That inconsistent gap between the headlights and the hood/ body kept bothering me the whole video
I like to sit in seats not on top of them
Yeah ill take the senior citizen trim please.
I have an 18. Everyone loves the grill.
Wait it’s -9 degrees there🥶! And you guys doing a review that’s awesome!
No its actually -25 here
YA'LL RE THE BEST AND GREAT REVIEW. MERRY XMAS 2022.
Could you do the Mazda 3 (2019) either the hatchback or the sedan would be fine, or the Mazda CX-9 (2019) next please?
0:21 is a great example why Lincoln's old naming system sucked, I couldn't remember the names either lol.
