  • We have had our chicken coop door for about a year, and it has a lot of traits that I really like, and it has cost us dearly. Is it the door's fault? Could we have prevented it? Should you get a chicken coop door? We cover the pros and cons here and earnestly hope you can learn from our mistakes.

    Brian, you are so funny doing these! I love your endorsements of the coop door and the ON4U outdoor security lights. I remember the barn light you put up and that was very impressive. These lights do an awesome job too. By the way, that guy that had to move out of his farm that his family had rented for over 35 years, the tractor ended up with my brother-in-law and it's an 9N! It had a huge loader implement on it so when he took that off it was about half the size it was. He's rebuilding the tractor motor very soon. I told him about HANK. He might have some tips for you. He rebuilds engines all the time. His fork lift just spun a bearing on Sunday and he already has it apart and he's ordering parts for it today. He's going to replace the rings since he has it all apart anyway. It's a surplus forklift from a ship building company and it was built in 1962, a Hyster and a very reliable machine except for right now. He's had to do very little work on it. He uses it a lot. Diesel of course. Keep making these videos and I'll enjoy watching them! Thanks! The bloopers was so funny. I love Mrs. Flannel's laugh!

    Hey Brian! We have one of those “up and down nonsense doors” and we love them 😉Purchased it 5 years ago and had it on 3 different coops (we moved a bunch). Glad you love yours because they do make a difference!!!

      Lol, I'm glad it has worked out for you! I think they make several types of up and down one, the more expensive ones are made from better stuff. I probably should have specified a cheap up and down one.

      Don’t remember how much it was (since we have it for a while) but the door runners are tight, doesn’t allow an intruder to just push in. Great point if someone is looking to buy one!

    I have the same auto chicken door, but no one ever seems to mention that gunk easily gets in the track and then it feels the resistance and opens back up so I still have to go out and make sure it is actually shut at night...🤔🤷🤷

    Hmm... I was wondering why Amazon was recommending chicken coop doors. Alas, they are the ones that go up and down.

      I had another comment from someone who said their up and down door was heavy duty and they've had it 5 years.
      I suppose if you don't go cheap it might work.

    This was hilarious! Your delivery was spot on. But I do have a serious question to ask. What are those flowering bushes you have? I want to think they are lilac, but I am not sure at all.

    good product but what happens when crud gets on the bottom runners that can impede closing. I don't mess with auto doors. I have chainlink runs with motion detector solar lights at predator eye level. And a german shepherd with big predator issues. thank you Brian, good review.

    • @FlannelFarms
      @FlannelFarms  29 днів тому

      Sound like you've a heavy duty set up!
      The bottom track is slotted so that stuff falls through. I've only had it get stuck once.
