Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction! Next up will be Hook and How To Train Your Dragon!
I can’t wait 😊
Yesss Hook was my all time favourite when I was little (and I still love it) ! Can't wait for your reaction !
How to Train your Dragon is a brilliant film, I think you're gonna love it
I can’t wait for how to train your dragon! It’s one of my favorite trilogies!!!❤️
How To Train Your Dragon is my favourite animated movie
Everyone talks about the first 10 minutes, but what really gets me is when Carl realizes that he was Ellie's adventure.
Yeah I definitely cried more at that than the opening for some reason...i did cry at the opening too tho..
Yessssss
Why not both?
Yeah when I saw the 'Thanks for the adventure, now have a new one!' I legit lost my shit and bursted into tears
Wait You all cried man I don’t have sole
I hope you don't feel self-conscious about crying. You're a man of great empathy and the fact that you get emotional when the filmmakers WANT you to get emotional is a sign of only one thing: the filmmakers did their job. If you don't get weepy from the opening of this film, you're not human.
Thanks so much that really means a lot. I would be lying if I said I don’t feel self-conscious about it but trying to change that😂
@@nickflix8657 i think it's admirable you're able to be open with your emotions!! the world could use more empathetic people like you
@@nickflix8657 nah you're an awesome reactor because we can see your emotions/reaction are genuine!
There are really nice people who don't get weepy from the intro of this film, and that's okay too. We all experience stimuli and emotions differently. ☺
@@nickflix8657 I honestly like it. I cry a lot, and it's nice to see a reactor whose reaction to films is similar to mine.
Nick: "Awww, they're gonna have a baby!"
Me: "Oh, that poor hopeful guy. Get ready."
He didn't even get 3 secs to process
@@paccinocappaccino Right? I was about to say! Like; “Get ready... 3... 2... 1... the funeral”
Lmao that’s exactly what we was thinking… like oh boy, just you wait lol
Better love story in under 5 minutes than all of Twilight.
I felt the same
The boy who voiced Russell wasn't supposed to be in the movie until director Pete Doctor overheard him while he was in the waiting room for his older brother and got the part immediately
awww that's so sweet
What kind of waiting room? Are you saying the boy's older brother was auditioning for the part and the little brother got it without intending to audition?
@@artloveranimation poor older brother tho 😂
@@artsysabs that’s what I was thinking too 😂
@@Needsmoreflash yes. That's exactly what happened
Pixar didn’t just tug at heart strings with this movie. It tore them out, tied them up into knots and then shoved them back in. I cry every time I see the beginning, and let me tell you it impacts a lot more as you get older.
I actually never criednwhen I saw the movie, but recently I feel the sadness when I watch other people watching those scenes, so watching the movie alone prolly won't bring me to tears, but with others.. For sure.
But I think I cried during the adventure book scene more, with Ellie's last message being thankful and encouraging Carl to have a new adventuee
I like this
@@ZhannArt I felt the same when i was younger but ever since I’ve been in this very fortunate relationship with my soulmate I can’t help but to shed a tear from the time-lapse sequence at the beginning and the final message Ellie gave Carl towards the end
Yeah I cry each and every time to the opener.
Fun fact: Paradise Falls is based on Angel Falls in Venezuela. At 3,212 ft high it is the world's tallest waterfall.
Yes, and the landscape around the waterfall was inspired by mount Roraima and its surroundings!
I want to see Angel Falls one of these days
That was a very fun fact 💜💜
It's in south América, it's like América, buth south...
When he’s buying tickets for them in the beginning before she has to go to the hospital, the tickets are to Venezuela
This movie really set the speed running record for how fast they can make the audience cry
i know its a bit whacky and weird but i love up all the way through...9.4/10 film..funny heartfelt interesting and it will make you tear up a tiny bit...people hate on the 2nd half but i like it
Break audiences heart any%
A movie that gets me is a dogs purpose.
@@moo9557 oh god I think I just raised the ocean level just hearing that masterpieces name!
Me: Sees you are gonna watch UP
Me: has seen UP and knows it is the saddest intro EVER
Also me: he's gonna cry like a baby...
How could you not? I watched the movie because I needed a pick me UP. So there I was, sobbing uncontrollably...
@@remplidefeux I now have this reflex where whenever I hear the intro song I just want to cry. It's like PTSD but in ✨song✨ form.
@@radglou18 yeah me too whenever I hear the intro music makes me goddamn sad.
Also you: cries with him for the same reason.
@@radglou18 *same here.*
This Nick Flix guy is seriously the Bob Ross of movie reactions. He's just so wholesome.
Facts
So true
Agreed 100%
Yes!!
This is my first video of this guy but based solely on your “Bob Ross” descriptor, giving him an instant follow.
"Up" was inspired by the story of Edith Macefield and her home that she refused to sell.
or at least made a great tie in, the writing apparently began before her refusal to sell.
The first 10 minutes of the movie is a better love story than anything that Twilight ever did
I know it's a meme, but I think it's too much of an understatement. The first 10 minutes are a better love story than anything Shakespeare wrote.
This type of comment is getting so old haha. It's better than most love stories in lots of other movies. 😂
The first 10 minutes can be it's own movie
@@ChanoCYBER9Avila I wholeheartedly agree
I cried like a b-i-t-c-h and I'm someone who rarely cries at anything. They just did the part so well.
Don’t feel too bad…….we ALL cried for Ellie and Carl😢😢😢😢
The first 10 minutes of this movie are such an emotional roller coaster
Ellie didn't live in that house-She just went there to play in it
The opening scene is heartbreaking, but what really hits me is that scene where he looks through her adventure book and sees her note "Thanks for the adventure--now go have a new one!". I always dissolve into tears when I think about that scene. Up is a truly beautiful movie. I'm going to have to rewatch it soon.
Just reading this comment made me tear up a smidge
@@wizardofarts1276 I guess that just goes to show how emotionally powerful that scene is.
*Exactly.* 🥺
Agree that scene topped the opening for me
Oh man, I completely forgot that bit. Now I'm tearing up.
"The small mailman has returned." Lowkey one of the best jokes hahah
Up came out it 2009!? It's been that long? Damn I feel old.
Stopppppp your making me feel old :,(
I think this is one of the few movies I actually remember going to see in theaters. I remember the theater had this promotion and they were giving out Up themed snack boxes and stuff. I left with an Up cup, balloon, coloring book, and poster XD
I mean... it seems it was yesterday, I remember seeing the trailer of UP in... a disneymovie in my DVD,and I remember seeing the trailer, the house started to flying
Nostalgic, I was just 6 wtf
I was 10 when it released 😮
The first ten minutes... That's *exactly* how you tell a compelling, great, heartbreaking story without saying much. One of the best character introductions EVER done. For a lot of people, the music is all it takes to make them shed a tear (or begin to ugly cry).
I love the symbolism of Carl having to literally let go of his baggage when he threw everything out of the house.
Also, I always cry when watching Ellie and Carl's intro story, but while they didn't have a perfect life, they did get to grow old with the person they were deeply in love with, and honestly what can anyone hope for more than that.
I don't have any kids. I am happily growing old with my wife. The beginning of this movie gets me every time...
I literally cried at the end when the house was floating away and I’m not afraid to admit it. love this movie was much
You HAVE to watch WALL-E, in my opinion the greatest animated movie, let alone one of the best films ever and one of the most beautiful love stories.
Plan on it!
@@nickflix8657 YES
@@nickflix8657 WHOOP!!! EXCITED!!!
Obviously the greatest love story ever written!
@@nickflix8657 WALL_ E was one of my favorite childhood movies i loved this movie 😭❤
9:25, the judge have him a choice: move out of the house and go to a retirement center, or jail time for assault.
Husband and I saw this opening weekend and that first 8 minutes of the film broke us. We, two grown-ass adults, were crying in a theatre full of 6 year olds. One of the most wholesome love stories Disney has ever made. I don't think anything else compares.
The film is about knowing how to overcome mourning.
1. During the trip, Mr. Fredricksen carried the house on his back, the house represents Ellie's memory. He thought that Ellie was unhappy for didn't realize her dream, but when he was able to let her go by understanding that Ellie died happy by share her life with him.
2. Rossel has a cheerful and adventurous personality like Ellie had as a child.
3. Carl Fredricksen thought Charles (his idol), having fulfilled his goals and had thousands of adventures he was happy, but when he realized that he wasn't, cuz his goals turned in an obsession, Carl realize that u can be happy with simple things.
you pronounce Russel wrong!
Nick: "I don't know anything about this movie."
Me: *waiting to see Nick cry at the sad story about Ellie*
Me: *crying before Nick cries*
Nick: *crying*
Every damn time :D
Your reactions really bring back every first time experience one had when watching a specific movie
Nick woke up and chose *extreme utter heartbreak*
What a way to crush his heart and soul in under fifteen minutes.
Fun facts: Carl Fredrickson is voiced by Ed Asner, who played Santa Claus in Elf, and Charles Muntz is voiced by the late Christopher Plummer, who played Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music.
he looks like the character as well
Your reaction to Dug speaking for the first time was absolutely precious. Great reaction.
He had the same reaction as Carl and Russell 😆
I know! He was such a big part in the trailer before I actually saw the film that that part wasn’t a surprise at all for me, it was really cool seeing someone who didn’t know what was going to happen
@@michellebeaulieu8118 That's why he never watches trailers.
At the end of the movie, this is the best part where the house landed next to the waterfall. This was what Ellie wanted and her dreams come true
The first ten minutes of this movie make my cry every single time i see it, without exception
Im actually suprised the old man didn't get charged with kidnapping lol
Hahaha I knew the opening would destroy you emotionally. Hope you love the film. My favorite character is the Doge
I mean its a retriever not a shibe, but ya
The first nine minutes of UP has been heralded as one of the best cinematic storytelling moments in recent history. Apparently when the orchestra played that musical theme for the first time there wasn't a dry eye on the soundstage.
Incidentally OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU WATCH HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (it's my favorite movie series ever).
Don’t worry, everyone cries in the first five mins. 😭😭😭
In the scene where his house first takes off there’s 20,622 balloons but further into the movie it decreases to 10,297 balloons :) it’s impressive that Pixar actually animated all of them
4:17 YOUR REACTION NO PLS OMG I AM CRYING TOO
The movie was nominated for BOTH Best Picture and Best Animated Feature. It won the latter as well as Best Original Score. It was the second DISNEY Animated Movie to be nominated for Best Picture, the first being Beauty And The Beast.
Fun fact.
One of my friends is the Italian voice for Russel.
Wow cool
That’s so cool!
@@nickflix8657 he invited us all to watch the movie together
I was 6 when it came out
We waited for the credits to roll and applauded when his name came up
Russellino?
Jordan Nagai?
i love how youre not afraid to cry in front of the camera. keeping it real and we love it.
No matter how often i see this movie, the beginning ALWAYS makes me sob. I had a story class where we analyzed that 8min sequence and all of us were sobbing doing it 😂
There is a theory that the old man, Carl Frederickson, died and the little kid is supposed to be his guardian angel, trying to help him reach Paradise Falls, which is his own version of Heaven. The talking dogs represent hellhounds and the villain Charles Muntz is the either the devil or a demon that wants the bird all for himself.
What does the bird represent?
@@LunaGamer25 Bird Of Paradise, presumably The Garden of Eden.
Ahh, interesting theory.
Why would one of the dogs betray the others, though? If they are demons or something.
@@finris1 Maybe Doug is a fallen angel in this sense?
Your reactions feel so genuine and raw, can’t express to you how much I love your videos!
"Don't tell me they're going to do it!"
Us: Houston we have a problem!
A few days ago I re-watched this in preparation of your reaction and not only did you not disappoint, you had the exact reaction as I did to one of my favorite pixar films of all time!!
The difference of your emotional well-being at 4:05 and 4:24 single-handedly showcases the validity and perfection of the story telling.
Michael Giacchino won an oscar for his Score in this film and if you watch the acceptance speech of his you'll see the Elle badge on him😭.
Fun fact: This movie is awesome!
Its not only my favorite Pixar film, but also my favorite animated film.
People speak about the masterful beginning, but the rest of the movie is still a great adventure story with some of the most beautiful animation imo.
@@soubhagyanayak3098 I feel the same way... Just a perfect movie.
In my opinion they made the best story in the opening scenes . I wish there was a prequel movie just on Ellie and Carl’s “adventure” ♥️ and it should be called . ☁️growing up ☁️♥️
Rest In Peace Ed Asner, the voice of Carl Fredricksen. ❤️
The part that really gets me is that Russel went to help him cross the street, his yard or something. In the end he helped him cross his heart and fulfill the promise he made Ellie. ❤
The opening time lapse scene is widely regarded as one of the best animated scenes ever. It’s downright incredible. Gets me in tears every time.
wait, i just realized that the 'monsters' in his collection were at one point real animals, Arsinotherium is an Ancestor of the elephant
When he flips through the book, it is the saddest yet heartwarming part of the film. It isn't even that he was her adventure, but the fact that life itself was an adventure. The life they both shared together was the best adventure Ellie could've ever asked for.
I cried laughing at nicks face when he heard the black dog’s squeaky voice😂😂
Carl and ellie's story is the purest love disney has ever told
(sorry one of the the purest love stories but it is the most real not like they just met once and got married)
I think if dogs really had a talking collar, to express their thoughts, it would probably be more like in Dexter's lab, where the dog just went "food for me???" and "the thing the thing I saw!!" all the time, lol
There is a talking dog collar actually, that turns barks into swear words, so that's pretty funny.
You probably should watch “Your name”. This is Japanese animation, it is amazing! Thanks for the video)
Your Name is the most GORGEOUS movie! I consider it decent, but it gets such a strong emotional reaction out of me, the only movie to ever make me actually SOB
I.L.E. After watching it I started to watch anime🥲 I literally fell in love with Japanese culture after seeing all those beautiful thing in Your name.
My friend told me to watch it but I haven't gotten around to it yet
Dangit that montage makes me cry every single time.
Him saying how he loves Carl and Elle at he beginning.
Me: Wait for it
The first 10 minutes literally had me crying when I was like 10yrs old when it came out 😂 and every single time watching it it’s done that since 🥺
Everyone talks about the opening being the power-house of emotion, but the emotional climax to me is when Carl looks through the Adventure Book and reminisces over their memories together - the photographs they show and the gentle music - it’s unbelievably moving.
The perfect shot of Ellie seating peacefully at the window, staring out into the sunlight - it says so much with no words - it shows a gentle soul on her own but at peace and gazing off into the great beyond, just waiting for her love to one day come back to her...
Great reaction!
The beginning always gets me in the heart ❤️ 😢. Up is such a good movie 🎈
Nick: I'm falling in love with them!
Me: oh no
Definitely one of the best opening scenes 🥲
Interesting little fact:
The general consensus of people who watched this in the theaters, is that if that entire montage sequence WAS the movie. As in after he enters the house the end shows and then the credits. People would’ve been satisfied
Basically everybody felt they got their moneys worth for the movie in the first 15 minutes.
I loved your reaction when you first saw Dug talking. You had the same reaction they do in the movie it matched perfectly.
I just want to say that it's absolutely admirable that you approach all your movie reviews with much empathy, Nick. Not many people are like that.
Just when you think this movie has made you exhaust your tear supply, it hits you with another profound and emotional moment, and you shed tears you never knew you had
Man, the first five minutes of this was an insane roller coaster of optimism and devastation for Nick, huh? Welcome to the club, friend.
You're reaction to Dug talking, was exactly the same as Carl and Russell's. 😂
Mr Fredricksons voice actor just passed away.
I love your channel - your enthusiasm and kindness really shine through!
Nick really is a gem of a human 💜💎
Aw thanks so much😊
Hi it so good to hear from you?how you been?❤🎉
The fact I have a dog that looks and acts just like Doug makes this movie so much more enjoyable
Fun facts:
1) All items in the house that are associated with Ellie are rounded, while Carl's ones are rectangular (armchairs, photo frames, lamps, etc.)
2) Pay attention to one tiny little detail. When young Carl watches the movie at the beginning, one part of his collar sticks out. Russell's collar sticks out almost in the same way, showing that they do have something in common
3) Also Dug was the only dog who managed to rack the bird because he's a hunting dog (a golden retriever). All other dogs belong to watch breeds
I loved how you reacted along with Carl and Russell at 18:38! 😆
Me, the quiet one, and my talkative extroverted wife had a really hard time with the intro
The sincronized gasp with the characters when the Dug first spoke was what got me. You couldn't have a more perfect reaction
Younge Ellie is voiced by Ellie Docter, director Pete Docter's daughter. She also did children screams in Monsters, Inc. along with her brother Nick, who appeared on the commentary for Mike's New Car on the DVD and Bluray for Monsters, Inc. Ellie was also used as an inspiration for Riley in Inside Out.
can i just give you a hug man you seem like the sweetest person ever
“I was hiding under the porch, because I love you” 😢😭
You being able to show emotion is the biggest reason I watch your videos! I’m so happy you liked this movie. I know a lot of people who don’t like it simply because it’s so sad at the beginning.
Ugh. Your reaction to the intro tore my heart out all over again.
To be honest you‘re slowly becoming my favorite movie reactor! You’re so emotional and react just so similar like I do to the movies and it makes me feel really close to you. Normally I feel weird because I‘m always getting emotional watching things and watching you I don’t! So thank you
You are a lovely person and I really appreciate the open way you approach these movies and how you are so willing to be emotionally invested. This is the wholesome content the internet needs.
Man, it is always so great seeing you react to all these movies! And especially when you allow yourself to get emotional, it means so much. It is such a great aspect to have, to be able to get emotional and cry. Don't ever feel ashamed about it, it is one of my favorite part in watching your reactions; the true and raw reaction. You are incredible🙂🙂❤
The opening sequence is definitely a tearjerker but it’s that ending shot of the house by the waterfall for me. The beauty of the music with that scene? *chef’s kiss*
Young Carl was wearing a pilot's helmet and googles, that aeroplane pilots used to wear in in early 20:th century because the planes back then were open. It wasn't until the 40's during the start of World War I when they got cockpits with enclosed canopies, making those obsolete (except for fighter pilots).
It's so refreshing & touching that you aren't afraid to show your emotions & cry when you're affected by such beautiful & powerful works of art. I always cry at animated films, no matter how many times I've seen them. Even watching to you reacting to them has me sobbing.
I’m so glad to have found your channel. I love reviewers who show true and real emotions, whatever that emotion may be. Subscribed 🙌🏼
This movie never fails at making me cry!! 🥺
That opening scene gets everyone...but man, when he looks at the scrapbook one last time...holy cow!
I promise you're gonna LOVE "How to train you dragon"... it's one of the best trilogies I've ever seen, animated and non-animated movies. Everything is top notch, I can't wait.
I ugly cried in the beginning, then I ugly cried again when he looked through the book with all the adventures filled in. Their life was an adventure 😭😭😭😭now im crying again
Your reaction in the beginning is so sweet. Truly appreciate that!
5:21 My grandfather died of cancer less than 2 years into his retirement. My grandma cried during the scene. It's one of my memories that I'll never forget when I watch this movie
Knowing what a kind and empathetic human you are, I knew the beginning would be rough when I saw you were doing UP. Wonderful reaction, I love your videos!
I felt so sorry for you at the start with your guessing lol
Even watching in recap like this, I still cried watching Carl and Ellie.
The first ten minutes of UP told a better love story than four Twilight movies did.
One thing this movie did was show an amazing lovely marriage within a montage.
