    If I lived in Idaho I’d be happy to come help whenever, as is today is my day off from everything and I still can’t help but look around to see what else I can do, speaking of which do you know anyone who wants some red spotted jewels? Got about 200 of them 😂, always something, glad to hear your eel Longoria is doing good and I love the new faces. Great looking tanks! Stay happy and healthy my friend 😊❤

      Then move up here - I need free workers lol. So if you’ve watched any of my other videos, you already know I have no friends, so I don’t know anyone who would like your lovely fish 😂. Thanks for liking my eel and tanks!

      @@CichlidCharmerI got the same problem and my LFS told me I’m flooding the market with them, I asked pondering, why did you sell me a male female pair then?… maybe he thought it was like angelfish and they eat their eggs 9 of 10 times! And no worries I just need a couple big tanks and I’ll have a real treasure of a tank full of shiney jewels. This being said I love your taste and your work, too bad we couldn’t be closer!

      @@CichlidCharmerI wish I could offer help in picking fish, personally South Americans are both beautiful and frustrating because they virtually all get large and most like to be in groups, and others like caves like Jack Dempsey or green terrors are surprisingly calm until 10-12” in size. Most of the time I see pink chalceus or red tail prochilodus with Oscar’s and vieja with some sveni and silver dollars. The odd catfish too. I have 2 rapheal catfish that are amazing but I barely see them either so. But if you want 2 great big iredescent sharks they are yours for free! lol I love them but I’m gonna have to buy a pool for them just so they don’t have to have issues

      @@HapiPETSWM I know what you mean! They are get really big, and I don't want the tank to be overcrowded. I want them to have lots of space. I can play with the stocking and just keep an eye on the aggression, but I'd prefer not to get anything too risky, like I hear the vieja is a very aggressive one. Still, quite tempting.... I'll pass on the sharks, but thanks lol. Thanks for the info!

    Awesome video as always.
    Cool name for the new tank.
    I have two 210's that I've had running for a couple of years now. I like fish on the boisterous side.
    One of the tanks is a South/central American Tank and the other is an Peacock/Hap tank. I am thinking about trying a peaceful, perhaps planted discus, angelfish tank.

    I had a tire track eel back in the 80s , one day he disappeared ! about 6 months later I was moving to a new house, and found this dried up banana thing behind the couch 15 feet from my aquarium !
    eels migrate and will crawl on land from one body of water to another.....get a good tight lid !

    • @CichlidCharmer
      @CichlidCharmer  3 місяці тому

      That sounds about right. I had them in the 80s also. Almost always ended in death by escape. My lids are tight now though 🤞

    Awesome video, Miss Eel Longoria you're a poop hiding, but you are such a cutie I'm so happy you got her. I don't think I told you how I lost my Snowflake eel, he got out of the smallest 1/4in spot in the lid on my marine tank only to find him crispy critter on the floor, sad day for sure. "San Quentin" love it, that fits in perfectly! I'd leave your 180 with the fish you have it and maybe move the angles out, I think all the fish will be really cool, hey I also use the good old bucket method on my smaller tanks I'm too lazy to haul out the big behemoth faucet hose thingy it's nice for the big jobs but just as easy to do it by hand for the small ones, anyway got ta keep the guns in shape. The boys in Alcatraz are stud muffins for sure very handsome indeed. Well, I did what you say to do at the end of this video I have 4 Dark Knight Rams on the way, I have their boudoir all ready and waiting for the action to start, my hopes are high on these......Thank you for yet another great video, I really enjoy your style.

    • @CichlidCharmer
      @CichlidCharmer  3 місяці тому

      Yeah she is a poop! But you're right, a cute one. I've lost many an eel like you lost your snowflake. Always so sad. I'll have to make sure it's locked down tight! So leave the 180 and maybe move the angels.... it IS the easiest thing to do, so maybe it's the best thing to do haha. Thanks for taking my advice and getting some new guys! You'll have to keep us posted in the fb group, Polly! Thanks for the encouragement, too!

    Hello sir. Love your content. So I have some weird algae in my 55 gallon. It's an African cichlid setup. It's a Lake Tanganyika biotope. Rocks and more rocks 😂...ok so this has no fish AT ALL never did and this algae grew out of nowhere. it's white and it's all over the rocks and glass. I've cleaned it however it grows back. My question is should I just remove the rocks and substrate and start over ??? Pressure clean the rocks ? Or is it best to let it do its thing and just add fish ? I guess I'm quite lazy to start over unless it's the best thing to do. Please advise and thank you!

    • @CichlidCharmer
      @CichlidCharmer  3 місяці тому

      I’m not an expert on white algae, but if it was my tank, I’d leave the light off all the time and make sure it isn’t getting lots of sunlight. Clean the tank up, change the water and see if it grows back.

    Moving the electric blue acara to your 400g, they should do really good since the can get to 5-6 inches. The geophagus as well would do really well in that tank
    Of course the choice is yours.
