She never told him. She told him that she had been in love with someone else, and he was reasonably fine with that (as he should be, you should never be mad at your current partner having an ex, which is what Penelope essentially told Colin: “hey, I know you’re in love with Marina and all, but she has an ex”. Would you break up with someone over that?). She never once told him that Marina was pregnant. He is very much justified in asking why she never told him.
I am a card carrying member of Team Pen. But to be fair there's a difference (even in regency times) between saying she was in love with somone and she's pregnant with someone's baby!

Edit: it still makes me laugh. There colin lays pl*gued all night long with intrusive thoughts of fun times on the sofa. Knowing his wife is in the other room looking fine. But he can't do anything about it cause remember you're still angry. Meanwhile the wife is sticking to her g*ns and having a great night sleep. While hubby is t*rmenting himself at this point. So this is what confuses me, he looks so happy reading the letters and then later in the study he’s like I can’t touch you like 😭
I think he’s smiling because the letter is charming and funny (pause and read if you can, charmingly written description of a rainy day mishap). But as he keeps reading it dawns on him that the writing style, wit and insights are very much Lady Whistledown. So, he now has to reconcile that the person whose letters he found most encouraging and Pen herself are Lady Whistledown. There’s no separating them. But just because he’s come to the realisation doesn’t mean he likes it or is at peace with it. That’s why he’s still discontent and withdrawn in the study later
I think the only thing bothering him was his envy of her. He felt guilty because he was envious of the person he loved the most. He had 80% forgiven Pen for the LW stuff, but his envy and guilt were coming between them. He had no control over it and he was also concerned about Cressida's demand and the safety of Pen and his family(cuz Nobody knew it was never that serious and the queen was not going to punish Cressida anyways which is why they were so scared) and even in fran's wedding both were yearning for each other and also he was talking softly to her in study(also if you noticed his smirk and knowing look when pen said he have taught her she's capable of pleasure beyond imagination 😂😂)and desperation was visible in his eyes that he wanted to be normal with her again but also he was shit scared because of the circumstances And we know Colin he's a drama queen he wanted to throw few more tantrums before getting there🤣🤣.(My pookiee😭💓) another reason I think he was sulking was because pen gave him space(which he was pretending he wanted but when she gave it to him he lost his mind)you must have noticed his expressions when she said she's taking a separate carriage he was like "seriously baby?I was pretending that I want space from you that doesn't mean you'll actually not cling to me and will give me space."lol freaks 😂😂
