I love that in the third season Penelope decides to speak in her true tone of voice instead of the perky tone. Reflects her growth well of coming out of her shell and becoming to true to herself. Kind of funny that Colin starts to fall for her when she comes into her own.
Yes, when they both finally cut the BS and get real with each other in S3 E1, that combined with all of their shared history and connection up to that point means they're ready to go. 😹 She always held him (and everyone) at arm's length. The closest she gets to being her true self prior to this is with Genevieve, and they both use their real voices with each other, also.

She always held Colin up to the highest standard seeings no faults in him, but the moment she heard him say that he wouldn’t court her and then saw him comeback from Paris being this fake playboy she knew he wasn’t all that and he also has faults. She got real with her feelings and found some sort of respect for herself to stop following ill to this one-sided love that kept unintentionally leading her on.

Omg I was not expecting the "but I can double check with my tongue if you like" at the cupcake scene 😂 But I have to say the last 5 minutes had me crying 🥹 Penelope and Colin have such a special place in my heart and seeing the culmination of their relationship in these moments, especially with the past and present scenes mirroring each other, made this so meaningful and beautiful!! Aww, thank you! It was a little rough leaving out all of their moments when they were actually having fun and connecting, since I was trying to play up all of the moments of disconnect and confusion, so I had to have a little flood of *some* memories at the end like, "Oh yeah, you're not imagining it, there *is* something there." I have come to realize that culminating my long-ass edits in what I can only refer to as "heart-swell" montages might be my trademark. 😅 They are definitely what I get the most positive comments on AND what I end up watching and rewatching and crying over so much MYSELF when I'm editing them. 😹 The ending of Imagine It With Me Part 2 is my favorite thing I've ever made, and I still get a physical reaction every time I watch the end of the Yellow video. In every video, at least 2 or 3 of my proudest editing choices are happy accidents I stumbled upon when I put two random clips next to each other as placeholders but then realized it actually made a perfect joke or awesome connection. 😹 I think that's the kind of show it is! Oh my god, don't make *me* cry! I get it, though. I really enjoyed the yearning of the third season but I wished she stuck it to Collin and didn’t marry him. It felt always expected and to frank it disappointed me. I personally like Lord Debling way better. I wished there was more angst and I hoping Lord Debling was there to serve it but unfortunately not.
I don't get what people mean or want when they say stick it to Colin, but then again, I've watched the series many times at this point and my views on a lot of the characters and storylines have changed a lot since my first watch (in both good and bad ways and sometimes back and forth lol), so I have to remind myself of that when there's majorly opposing views on some of these things. I like that the show has enough going on to generate that much thought and discussion. Lord Debling may be outwardly polite and softspoken, but that doesn't change for me that he was just an older guy pitting the two teenaged girls in the room who had daddy issues and no support at home against each other and tricking them into fighting over him without even asking themselves if he was worth it. To me, the only time he earned any respect from me was when he didn't hold it against Pen when Colin was losing his mind over her and embarrassing them in public until he realized she felt the same, and then he let her down. But that's another thing that should be bare minimum. I'm just too used to seeing men blame women for other men's behavior, so that part felt "gallant."
I don't like her outfits. It was obviously done purposely, but it trivialize her character and I feel as if the producers did it specifically to her because she's a little heavier. Why not Daphne with the over the top, whimsical colorful attire with excessive bows in her hair? I don't like what they did with her character. Shes beautiful and it makes her appear unnecessarily ornate abd gaudy
That is the point. It’s part of the story. It makes no sense to Daphne’s story. The producers didn’t do it. It is in the books. It results in people not taking her seriously, but WE as the audience know her and don’t trivialize her. The story is about her being trivialized and overcoming that.
