Way to go celtic woman really enjoyed and appreciate your singing you should be proud best wishes to everyone keep up the work appreciate you guys thanks. Joe
@unclestubie Oh please. They have admitted that in the early years of the show, they would lip synch sometimes because Chloe's voice was quite weak. Since Chloe's voice has matured, they do not lip synch anymore. I have been to several Celtic Woman shows, and the shows are definitely live.
@unclestubie Don't worry you haven't hurt my feelings :) I know what I hear and I was at their Concert in Zürich this year and they sounded clearly different from the CD recording. And I don't mean just slightly but for example Chloe sang "when you believe", slower and then in a different key etc. and it wasn't a fault or sounded bad, it was wonderful. That was just the freedom of the artist to perfrom a song like they want, so that it isn't boring or repetitive :)
@unclestubie are you crazy? This is not lyp synched at all :) I've seen them live and I listened to this CD so much I can hear the difference and they sound live as good as on CD if not better :D
@unclestubie they do not need to lyp synch of they can actually sing! I mean, listen to acoustic performances they did! and this version sounds different because it's together with Lisa Lambe and not with Alex and Lynn !
I'm sure David Downes has heard that before, and said "You've GOT to be kidding!" Directing a group composed of four soloists must be like herding cats. Imagine doing it with a dozen, with all the arguments over who gets which solo. It would also be hugely expensive.
@unclestubie okay, and who is this 'former member ' of CW? I mean, it's very easy to claim some things without any proof for others. I could come over and say "yeah, they do lyp synch, I spoke to a former member..." and really, if you write such things you ruin the music for other people... so keep it to yourself and just enjoy what CW gives us every time they perform...
The truth is what it is! I will not reveal the CW Member. Believe what you will. The public also has the right to know that a live performance may not be what they think it is. I'm done with this thread because people will believe whatever they want and I can't change that. Enjoy they shows. I just can't support a live show that is half fake.
Mmmm.... I liked the version with Alex and Lynn better. Still a beautiful song, but *shrug* Just my humble opinion. Take with a grain of salt if you wish.
@SpuneTinner I have had the pleasure of sitting in the front row. I was at several of their shows in the front row. Back in the early days of Celtic Woman. I know the fans will only believe what they want to believe, but the fact is Celtic Woman lip synchs during their live performances. Not every song, mind you, but they do. This is a fact that is not up for debate. I know for sure from a former member of CW. The girls also use "Auto-tune"
@JasminTheDreamer The proof I have is the word of a former Celtic Woman member, and the fact that I have personally witnessed it in concert. It is your choice to belive or not, but the fact is I KNOW for sure.
@HigherHighSymphony Sorry to hurt your feelings, but it is very clearly lip synched. I know for a fact that they lip synch in their live performances. I don't want to start a big argument, but I know what I know and it comes directly from a former member of Celtic Woman. They even did such a bad job of it in Orlando, FL that they accidentally started one of Orlagh's songs playing before the harp had been brought out onto the stage. They had to start the song over again.

@JasminTheDreamer I agree! They don't need to lip synch but yet they do. It's a shame because they are very talented.

Lisa Lambe is so great! Too bad every member they ever had couldn't come together for a FANTASTICAL Celtic Woman concert.
That would be one he'll of a logistical and ego challenge. No way to pull that off

that's your hangup lip synching or not they do a fine job
I still think Alex Sharpe and Lynn sang this one better with Lisa, Chloe and Mairead
