- This is a must on your M156 C63 AMG if you have not done so already, this could literally save your engine from self destruction!
We got some help in recording and editing this video so let me know in the comments what you think of the format. Apologies there hasn't been a video for so long I have been really poorly, but now I am slowly getting back to best.
We have more videos coming so make sure to keep an eye out.
Should you need any injectors for your m156 and live in the UK! you can purchase from my website

All the best everyone and thank you for your support!
Apologies I haven’t posted for a while
“Ive been ill 🤒 the past couple of months!”
You can probably tell on this video I’m not back to best but it’s a start.
We will be back on track as of next week.
Appreciate the support and all the best everyone!
Glad to see you back and more importantly on the road to recovery.
Until You Tube did anyone say your oil buckets don't look professional? Surprised there aren't Mercedes approved ones (at a cost)
@@markrushton1516 Not sure what the problem is. People get lip fillers in dirtier places than that.
@@Millennial_Manc Probably an Only Fans for that!
Great to have you back and I hope you'll fully recover in no time.
Its a no brainer on the M156, the video quality was a step up in my opinion. Good to see you back, I enjoy your content.
Certainly is. Plenty more to come.
Nice guy, good chap. Once I sort my life out and get a better job. I'll buy an AMG and get you guys to service it, I trust you.
Sorry to hear that you have been ill, good to see you back. Excellent video, yes, picture quality looks sharper. Looking forward to you giving my CLK a thorough once over late July.
Nice to see someone doing a brakeline check on routine maintenance.
Great to have you back enjoyed the video as always thank you
Video quality and edits are next level. Love it, good to see the videos back up and running
Thanks. I always learn lots from your videos. Appreciate the honest info on pricing too.
Glad you’re feeling better have missed you!
keep well mate missed the vids great to have you guys back👍
Glad to see you back and recovering love the videos, my E43 was in this week for maintenance work (B service and Gearbox service) absolutely delighted with the whole experience you have a great team at SPR 👍
Great to hear! Thank you, feel free to share that on our google reviews 🙏
Always a treat to see a new SPR video posted up!
More to come! 🙏
Sorry to hear you were sick. Hope you are feeling better! You really care about your cars, makes me want to get a Merc again.
Glad your back and better pal really looked forward to the video and enjoyed watching.....keep them coming when you can 👍
Always good informative videos keep up the good work
Superb mechanic work!!
Don't overwork and take it easy. Half of the criticism levelled at German cars is due to cheap-skate owners.
Sorry to hear that you haven’t been well , I hope you are 100% well now 🤞 keep the great video coming.
I hope you’re fully recovered and great to see you back again. That was an excellent video and better than normal editing.😉
Thank you very much! And great feedback thank you. 🙏
Welcome back Sam, hope you're feeling one hundred percent soon. Great video as always, lots of good tips.
Nice one. Good to see you back!
Great video.
Very informative, thanks from Australia!
Lucky I just ordered some injectors!
Great to see you back, thanks for another informative video.
The editing makes the video much pacier, just make sure we don't miss anything important 😊
Welcome back !
Liking the new editing on the video.
Don't overdo it until you are back to 100%.
Great video very informative 👏.
I have a 2010 c63 performance pack 32miles on the clock.
My best car is a 2006 a170
Thank you
Great video, as usual. Great to see you back.
So many of is don't see the 'boring' things as you put it, it is interesting especially when presented as you do.
Thanks for that! Appreciate it 🙌
Good to see you up and about
This is an awesome channel! So much to learn....I could binge watch this over the Euro 2024 matches.
Anyway...hope your health is back on point or at least showing good signs of getting there! Wish you all the best!
Thank you 🙏 more to come
I know you said it a quite a range of when these fail but- I did want to know if there is a standard recommendation for mileage/kms to get them done regardless of issue.
Like every 30k miles (48k km) or so?
My 2014 c63 base is going to get the fuel injectors done (all 8 replaced) that don’t have any issues atm no issue atm. Currently 70k miles (112k km) on the odometer.
Getting them replaced by a very reputable AMG mechanic in the US

Thoroughly enjoy your videos with service and repairs on Mercedes Benzes ,it’s a pity I live in Yorkshire cause if I lived nearer I would definitely bring my 220d cab to you guys.
4:13 you can use Mercedes oil but it’s simple and basic synthetic from Petronas. Mercedes themselves recommends also Ravenol oil, which is a sponsor in the German DTM and Nordschleife 24h.
How often would you recommend changing them?
How did you seat those injectors I didn’t see you hammering them down.
Great video and good to see you back.
Good to see you back.
Just on Tuesday was wondering where you had been, poorly is a shame, glad your back and looking fit as a fiddle! Nice video again.
Great to see you back. Top quality video as well !
Thanks for fhe great videos true professionals 🎉
I agree, injectors are a must at any age or mileage, my car 2014, 2 owners, injector No4 locked open and tried to hydrolock at 30k miles, luckily I knew what was happening and switched it off immediately, and managed to save it........after that happened I also did loads of preventative maintenance..........keep up with the gr8 videos........👍🏻👍🏻 SPR did my transmission service, cracking job guys......
Well saved! Great info
For the viewers reading the comments. Cheers 🍻
Why don't you just use a sonic cleaner to restore clean injectors
Thise rims fit the car perfectly 🤩
My M156 is on 197000km and as far as I know the injectors have never been replaced. My Mercedes-Benz specialist, essentially your counterpart here in South Africa, has also never recommended it. Might ask for a quote to do them on my next service which is due in 2 months.
Wow that’s good going, I would highly recommend them to be done. 👍
As the video shows I’ve seen it high and low miles and replaced many engines because of failure.
@@sprautos Update: I spoke to my Mercedes-Benz specialist, he says he's never replaced an injector on an M156 and never seen one fail since their introduction. It could be environmental related or fuel related but it seems here in South Africa it's not an issue. So for now I'll leave mine alone since it's a very expensive job.
@@KyleJHB I guess it's fuel related? Because they stuck if there is some 'dirt'? So fuel would probably be the main cause.
Brilliant see your well and SPR are back with the excellent videos . 👍🏻😉
Thanks 👍
Great video thank you. With the injectors replacement, should this also apply to the M157?
M157 seems to be ok. 👍
@@sprautos Cheers mate for the info.🤪
great and thanks for sharing your experience
Editing looking very professional
I’m learning all the time thanks
Good to know that you're fit and well again Sam. I'm desperate to buy a car that I don't need. 2016 SLK 55 AMG. Do they have similar issues?
55 AMG has the m113, your good to go!
Yes I did thank love you videos
Good to see you back!
Is this injector issue specific to this car or would you recommend replacing all injectors on an M273 V8 (W164 ML500 2010 45K miles)?
@@russellbawden1105 it’s specific to the m156 engine 🙏🙌
Great advice regarding the injectors. I've just ordered a set from FCPEuro (Connecticut, US) which is cheaper with shipping than buying them from the local Merc dealer here is Perth, Western Australia.
Great video as always - If you have a moment, can you tell me where do you get your swabs from and what brand of brake fluid tester do you use? Many thanks...and the I hope it is not the UA-cam fame making you sick. Mike
many thanks, I think they were just off amazon, just searched swabs and bought a massive pack with mixes sizes, brake fluid tester is a bluepoint/snapOn but to be honest I'm compared expensive ones to cheap ones and they all read the same reading so again an amazon one will be fine.
@@sprautos Many thanks for your prompt reply. Mike
Once upon a time mercedes and bmw meant quality and over engineering.
Well said
WOW!! So did AMG ever correct this or know of it happening?
I’m not sure tbh! I would love to speak to someone at Bosch about it
We love you man, never stop.
I've heard that injectors can be serviced. But doest his work or is that a pointless Idea.
yes I've heard/sen this also, they still have to be removed to do it so I don't see why not just replace.
So this is my idea you get hold of a 190 the best version I’ll leave that up to you. This car will be stripped down and put back together improving everything. Then you hold a competition/raffle or whatever then I win it and everybody agrees this was your most enjoyable and viewed project so far! Yeah?
How come on my diesel 320d bmw it cost me £1100 for 4 injectors fitted
Diesel injectors, completely different set up and a lot more expensive
I'm doing my injectors tommorow, obviously bought from you at an amazing price..
1:56 "I don't know why people don't do it [drain the oil cooler]". A good reason to not do it is because it is a challenge to get the air out of the oil cooler after the oil change. If some air is left in the oil cooler, it can stay there for a while and then be released at once, e.g., when someone puts the foot down and the oil pressure rises. This can lead to the engine being starved for oil for a moment and cause damage. In short, unless one has a way to get the air out of the oil cooler after the oil refill or otherwise control the release of the trapped air, one should not drain the oil cooler.
Good information, food for thought for our viewers. 🙏
Injectors wear out, we used to re-build carburettors at about 70,000 miles. Injectors are not a fit and forget thing. Also modern engines run a lot tighter parameters and bad injectors can wreck an engine. Not just the hydraulic problem of filing the cylinders with petrol mentioned. Good sound advice to my way of thinking. The car will also probably perform better and use less petrol for replacing worn /aged injectors.
Great to see AMG videos back again.
I may have missed it, but I dont recall you saying why they fail. Were the original items inferior quality?
Going to check my paperwork then look at booking in with you
Glad you’re feeling a bit better. They did a good job with the filming… better quality video… maybe higher fps. Your filming was fine though.
⚠️Hardly any garage grease the lighting or suspension level sensors.
If they were greased every service they wouldn't rust up and snap off.
It takes 1 minute extra service time⚠️
Welcome back, mate. Hope you are feeling better. Just wondered yesterday why you have been off air!
Great to see you back. I take it there no need to code the injectors or is that just a BMW thing?
Thanks John. No need for coding on petrol none direct injection injectors on Mercedes
Are the new injectors modified or same as the old and prone to failure?
I don’t know for sure but I would like to think they have been altered, but I really don’t know, there is lots of info out on the net about it.
Good to have you back and i hope you soon make a full recovery.
That genuine Mercedes oil is much cheaper than many branded oils, and that is sourcing it from main dealers on ebay. They used to offer a 20 litre 'lube cube' that nicely did two oil changes on my OM642.
I dont understand what you mean by you must replace injectors
Is there a specific time frame or kilometres that you should replace the injectors
What about injectors on an M111 23L slk230 03y? I'm trying to get this breather hose I can't seem to get hold of it anymore, going from the top of the head to the bottom of the oil filter housing, it's got a split at the top I'm not sure how it's connected?? I think it's just pushed on with a clip the clip is fastened to the head as well, I want to get a diagram do you know anywhere I can get a diagram or service manual ? I know some of these pipes are sort of clamped in and can't be removed easily. Should you leave the fuel rail pressurized if not using the vehicle or depressurize it?
can the dealer not get it you? they have a parts diagram, I'm sure if you go in they will show you the pat on the diagram and print it off for you
@@sprautos yes I had been to them they showed me a diagram but none of the hoses look anything like mine! and don't have the same type of fitting they have a spliter plastic adapter, there is one that looks similar and the guy said no that's not for your car you need this zig zag one what looks nothing like mine in the diagram picture. could I Google the part number I haven't tried, the one he said it was for my car they can't get it anymore anyway. About the thickness the outer diameter of a garden hose and about at a guess 12 mm inner diameter the only thing is I can try and make one with a spring and heated up and call it down, maybe that was done before that's why it looks nothing like the pictures I don't know I need to get a service manual there must be something online free??
Excellent video
I prefer the old editing, or lack thereof. The problem now is that we don't get to see how you actually do the work on the cars...
Great advice.
Hope you get better ,,get some fresh air and sunshine.
Glad you are convalescing rather than decomposing! Great video.
Good content welcome back
You are so handsome 😊❤
Superb guys 👍👍
Another good reason not to buy one of those ...🙂👍
😂
Great to see you back posting quality stuff mate as always 👊
Brilliant, very informative, as usual 👍👏
I'm a fairly new viewer to your channel but on the tools myself, I had a good laugh about the oil drainer comment😂😂😂(only on the internet🙄🙄)
I'm not brand loyal and own a V8 Bimmer but looking at one of these to myself next.
Watching your channel has been a great education.
I've enjoyed your videos either way but this ones a bit more polished.
Thanks and welcome!
Haha yea only on the internet would someone say about the oil buckets. 🪣
Few questions… I’ve done mine but how often would you recommend changes??? 10k miles??
Would you refurbish the old ones??? Or bin them?
Thank you another great video lads keep it up 👍
Hard one to say, every 50k? Bin old fit new
Great to see you back mate. Hope your feeling better 👍
Definitely an incremental improvement in the video quality - interesting subject too. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback.
Wished I lived closer
I’d use your garage no end
I actually like your regular videos which are less choppy. Subscribed. Hope you are feeling better man.
thank you, yes im getting a better feel for the diditing now, and yes on the mend thank you. and thanks for the Sub. All the best.
Ah yes, I will absolutely do this mod to both my M156 63 AMGs that I definitely own, as a 35 year old millenial....
well worth it!
Great to see another interesting and informative video and sorry to hear you have been unwell. Just a question about the injectors - are the new ones you fitted a re-design so that the fault won't reoccur? Can you tell if you car has potentially defective injectors? Thanks and keep up the great work!!
Thank you 🙏
I would like to think they would be given how much trouble they give, but honestly I’m not sure.
Early sign could be uneven idle or miss fire
Great informative video, thanks 👍
You're not making sense Mate So I should replace injectors every single day.Because you don't know when they need to be Replace
I am just stating it’s a common part to fail and can cause a disaster, so if you have no history of them being replaced I would recommend it for peace of mind.
Thanks for the reply 👍 mate love your videos, but it's frustrating when you say it's a common problem but can't give a rough time frame or km when it should be replaced
And when you do replace them, when should you replace them again? Can you see why it's Annoying and frustrating what you're saying
@@boy2424100 I can see you point but there is no pattern to when they fail, I’ve seen them at 30k all the way to 140k as stated in the video it’s litrally a roulette.
It’s frustrating for me and all m156 drivers that there isn’t a definitive interval.
So I can’t advise, should someone take my advise and they fail Before hand, it will be my fault 😂
All you can do is take what you want from this video and decide for your self.
As always, the video was very informative and love the humor 😂. The editing was top notch.
Hope your health continues to improve 🙏, the good content was missed.
The humour will get better as Heath does 😉
Been watching from the very beginning. Love your dour personality…that’s a compliment!
Thank you so much!!
Great video, very informative. I have the identical car, think I need to get MB, who look after my car to change my injectors. Thank you
Glad it helped!
Is it just the M156 engine that is prone to sticking injectors? I've heard of this problem on the M275 as well
M156 is top of the list
For failure in my opinion yes 🙌
Oh there you are , was wondering what had happened to you , anyway your videos were good enough before considering you were newish to it , so next level now , onwards and upwards , keep it coming .
Many thanks! yes very new this being my first year.
Hope your feeling better 😊
The car sounded very nice.
Your videos are always good.
Thank you 🙏 and yes on the better side of things thanks
welcome back, what intervals would you change the injectors, every 2 years?
Difficult one that, hard to say really, every 50k 🤷🏼♂️ it’s like roulette
😁😁😁
