Apologies I haven’t posted for a while “Ive been ill 🤒 the past couple of months!” You can probably tell on this video I’m not back to best but it’s a start. We will be back on track as of next week. Appreciate the support and all the best everyone!
Watched this and got my injectors done (bought from you). The existing parts showed signs of wear, especially seals. Mechanic said this was a good call!
Sorry to hear that you have been ill, good to see you back. Excellent video, yes, picture quality looks sharper. Looking forward to you giving my CLK a thorough once over late July.
Glad to see you back and recovering love the videos, my E43 was in this week for maintenance work (B service and Gearbox service) absolutely delighted with the whole experience you have a great team at SPR 👍
1:56 "I don't know why people don't do it [drain the oil cooler]". A good reason to not do it is because it is a challenge to get the air out of the oil cooler after the oil change. If some air is left in the oil cooler, it can stay there for a while and then be released at once, e.g., when someone puts the foot down and the oil pressure rises. This can lead to the engine being starved for oil for a moment and cause damage. In short, unless one has a way to get the air out of the oil cooler after the oil refill or otherwise control the release of the trapped air, one should not drain the oil cooler.
4:13 you can use Mercedes oil but it’s simple and basic synthetic from Petronas. Mercedes themselves recommends also Ravenol oil, which is a sponsor in the German DTM and Nordschleife 24h.
This is an awesome channel! So much to learn....I could binge watch this over the Euro 2024 matches. Anyway...hope your health is back on point or at least showing good signs of getting there! Wish you all the best!
Great video, as usual. Great to see you back. So many of is don't see the 'boring' things as you put it, it is interesting especially when presented as you do.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos with service and repairs on Mercedes Benzes ,it’s a pity I live in Yorkshire cause if I lived nearer I would definitely bring my 220d cab to you guys.
Great to see you back, thanks for another informative video. The editing makes the video much pacier, just make sure we don't miss anything important 😊
I agree, injectors are a must at any age or mileage, my car 2014, 2 owners, injector No4 locked open and tried to hydrolock at 30k miles, luckily I knew what was happening and switched it off immediately, and managed to save it........after that happened I also did loads of preventative maintenance..........keep up with the gr8 videos........👍🏻👍🏻 SPR did my transmission service, cracking job guys......
Injectors wear out, we used to re-build carburettors at about 70,000 miles. Injectors are not a fit and forget thing. Also modern engines run a lot tighter parameters and bad injectors can wreck an engine. Not just the hydraulic problem of filing the cylinders with petrol mentioned. Good sound advice to my way of thinking. The car will also probably perform better and use less petrol for replacing worn /aged injectors.
Good to have you back and i hope you soon make a full recovery. That genuine Mercedes oil is much cheaper than many branded oils, and that is sourcing it from main dealers on ebay. They used to offer a 20 litre 'lube cube' that nicely did two oil changes on my OM642.
Hi. I'm living in Sweden and admire your work very much. I wondered if you get any S-Class Coupe or Convertible in for A or B service. Maybe you could post a film online. Keep up the brilliant work👏🏿👏🏿🌞😉
Oh there you are , was wondering what had happened to you , anyway your videos were good enough before considering you were newish to it , so next level now , onwards and upwards , keep it coming .
My M156 is on 197000km and as far as I know the injectors have never been replaced. My Mercedes-Benz specialist, essentially your counterpart here in South Africa, has also never recommended it. Might ask for a quote to do them on my next service which is due in 2 months.
Wow that’s good going, I would highly recommend them to be done. 👍 As the video shows I’ve seen it high and low miles and replaced many engines because of failure.
@@sprautos Update: I spoke to my Mercedes-Benz specialist, he says he's never replaced an injector on an M156 and never seen one fail since their introduction. It could be environmental related or fuel related but it seems here in South Africa it's not an issue. So for now I'll leave mine alone since it's a very expensive job.
As always, the video was very informative and love the humor 😂. The editing was top notch. Hope your health continues to improve 🙏, the good content was missed.
⚠️Hardly any garage grease the lighting or suspension level sensors. If they were greased every service they wouldn't rust up and snap off. It takes 1 minute extra service time⚠️
Great advice regarding the injectors. I've just ordered a set from FCPEuro (Connecticut, US) which is cheaper with shipping than buying them from the local Merc dealer here is Perth, Western Australia.
Hi Sam I'm new to your channel became aware of it after viewing Shifting Metal and Joe recommended it , , , , ,enjoying the content and looking forward seeing more of your exploits in the Workshop . . . .I have a 7 year old SL 400 with 38,000 miles on the clock and I'm constantly looking for advice on ways to keep it looking and running well ! Wondering whether you get many SL 400s in for service repair etc ? Wishing you good health !
I'm a fairly new viewer to your channel but on the tools myself, I had a good laugh about the oil drainer comment😂😂😂(only on the internet🙄🙄) I'm not brand loyal and own a V8 Bimmer but looking at one of these to myself next. Watching your channel has been a great education. I've enjoyed your videos either way but this ones a bit more polished.
Great to see AMG videos back again. I may have missed it, but I dont recall you saying why they fail. Were the original items inferior quality? Going to check my paperwork then look at booking in with you
So this is my idea you get hold of a 190 the best version I’ll leave that up to you. This car will be stripped down and put back together improving everything. Then you hold a competition/raffle or whatever then I win it and everybody agrees this was your most enjoyable and viewed project so far! Yeah?
I know you said it a quite a range of when these fail but- I did want to know if there is a standard recommendation for mileage/kms to get them done regardless of issue. Like every 30k miles (48k km) or so? My 2014 c63 base is going to get the fuel injectors done (all 8 replaced) that don’t have any issues atm no issue atm. Currently 70k miles (112k km) on the odometer. Getting them replaced by a very reputable AMG mechanic in the US
Great to see another interesting and informative video and sorry to hear you have been unwell. Just a question about the injectors - are the new ones you fitted a re-design so that the fault won't reoccur? Can you tell if you car has potentially defective injectors? Thanks and keep up the great work!!
Thank you 🙏 I would like to think they would be given how much trouble they give, but honestly I’m not sure. Early sign could be uneven idle or miss fire
Apologies I haven’t posted for a while

Until You Tube did anyone say your oil buckets don't look professional? Surprised there aren't Mercedes approved ones (at a cost)
@@markrushton1516 Not sure what the problem is. People get lip fillers in dirtier places than that.
@@Millennial_Manc Probably an Only Fans for that!
Great to have you back and I hope you'll fully recover in no time.
Its a no brainer on the M156, the video quality was a step up in my opinion. Good to see you back, I enjoy your content.
Certainly is. Plenty more to come.
Nice to see someone doing a brakeline check on routine maintenance.
Just did oil, plugs, coils, and injectors this past week. My C63 is running like a top at 178k miles!

Sorry to hear you were sick. Hope you are feeling better! You really care about your cars, makes me want to get a Merc again.
Thanks. I always learn lots from your videos. Appreciate the honest info on pricing too.

Egle eyed viewer here i would have advised the customer to replace the camsensors as i could see oil on the plugs on the C63 M156 engine

Thanks John. No need for coding on petrol none direct injection injectors on Mercedes
