Lovely collection. Perfect. Awesome restoration. R.I.P. Martin Landau. Best commander ever. I love Space 1999. in Germany we call,it „Mondbasis Alpha 1“.
Pretty good likenesses, only watched a few episodes a few years ago but I recognize the face. Need to watch more Space 1999 but I really liked the episode with Ian McShane. Nice job, never had Mego but I like them. :)
Holy Moonbase Alpha, I can't believe people still remember Space 1999. I found that show in my freshman year of college, and I fell in love. Watched it every day after work and during my lunch breaks. Wow what a trip. Awesome restoration as always. Love the channel.
Really cool figures here ! I like very much the face sculpt, they really look like the actors and you had made a great painting job too ! Space 99 is a great series that is always cool to watch today !
Takes me back to the 70's. As John Koenig and Victor Bergman said, in the episode Black Sun... ..."To everything that might have been." ..."To everything that was." Nice restoration and good to see you've completed your collection. Maybe it's worthy of a Toy Polloi custom built Moonbase Alpha display ????
I have loved SPACE 1999 since I was a kid, Dave, so you know I loved this one! Congrats only finally getting Commander Koenig! He looks awesome! I always look forward to your videos, so my week is made!
Fabulous restoration Dave. Always nice to see Space 1999 get some love. Loved seeing the other figures from the series too such as Capt Zanthor (Christopher Lee) and The Mysterious Alien (Anthony Valentine In 'War Games') but the Alan Carter figure looked particularly good in the spacesuit.
They look great, bravo on the restore job you did, Dave. I had to make a custom Koenig figure (and Dr. Russell figure and several others) and I bought the FTC Space: 1999 figures (when they came out). I, unfortunately, don't have any of the Palitoy figures. Great collection too!
There are some modern extra figures added to the range, in a similar way that they've recently done with the Star Trek Mego figures. Sneak a peek on ebay
Great restoration as expected Dave. Even though i have some of the vehicles made by Dinky Toys, i'd never actually seen a single episode of Space 1999.... Until now! i actually watched episode 1 straight after watching this upload, considering its age i actually found it quite enjoyable so i'll be watching every other episode i can find on YT.
The uniforms in the show were actually a beige/cream colour anyway! Just look at Dr Russells uniform..... She (and all the medical staff) had a white sleeve which clearly shows just HOW off-white the rest of the outfit was!
interesting that in your end shot with all the figures that the Commander's uniform looks beige compared to Paul's stark white one. What makes this ironic is that Koenigs uniform is now closer to the actual screen used color.
Great job, I envy you your collection! We didn’t get those figures here in the states back in the 70s but I still have the 9 inch versions of Koenig and Dr. Russell that were put out by Mattel as well as the main mission play set. Just wish I had asked Prof. Bergman that Christmas so I would have the set! Love your videos! Oh and remember the comlocks were worn on the left side of the belt, side arms were on the right. Sorry I am a costumer with ocd issues on accuracy.
After you clean the bodies with soapy water. You should always use plastic polish on everything. It really restores the vibrancy to the toy. Just wanted to recommend it.
I had Koenig and never saw another figure from that range. I used him in with my superheroes as his uniform did give him a kind of costume hero style. Had him from brand new and I don't think he had a comlock in his blister. Could have been a miss packaged one. He came out really nicely.
Since you are particular about the sheen of the paint when you work on these things, it looks to me like the eyebrows probably need to be a matte finish without gloss. In your group photo, Koenig's repainted eyebrows look very glossy compared to the others. Thanks for the video, always looking forward to new ones.
I use Vanish Oxi-action on vintage Lego sails but it takes around 10 hours to get the dirt out It could be worth trying it on the white uniform Great video as always
If I hadn't heard you on The Gerry Anderson Podcast today I may never have found this or you. That was really interesting, thanks for sharing! #gerryandersonpodcast
I would of used Vanish powder mix with Boiling water then get a desert spoon and then spoon the soap (which is not hot ) on to the white uniform repeat it till covered then leave for 2 hours then rinse
It's worth making up a Year 2 Koenig from CTVT stuff if you can stomach paying their extortionate shipping rates. I've got one, with a uniform I took from a busted CTVT Tony Verdeschi. I'm about to put one of the Salmon pink jackets on him that were seen in Year 2, which I've just bought from David Bolter over in the States.
I tried buying the uniform from CTVT along with some other parts and they failed to include half the outfit, then refused to send the missing parts unless I made another order. I would avoid them at all costs. Not helpful, even when they made the mistake.
@@toypolloi I realized that after I commented. Thanks for the reply. Are the two makers close enough in size to use the Bergman and Russel heads on Palitoy bodies? Is there a female Palitoy body?
Shouldn't the belts be turned around? The clasps were to the front, not the back. Well done. I'm sure Martin Landau, Nick Tate, Anthony Valentine and Sir Christopher Lee would thank you.
A drop of Plastic Weld on the crack on Anthony Valentine's, sorry, 'Mysterious Alien's' (from the episode 'War Games') arm would probably see that right, and stop it from spreading. How about trying Koenig's uniform in an ultrasonic cleaner? You might be surprised - it's manmade fibres so the dirt is just sitting on it, not soaked in. The ultrasonic cleaner might just be able to loosen that dirt.
I'm wondering if your getting taken out by blasted UA-cam KIDS appeals. If I did a video like this focusing on a toy repair I know that the system will want to fight me and from what I'm seeing the AI is getting far more aggressive deciding on an appeal.
@@toypolloi I've tried the 'general audience' / 'universal audience' response and that's not working. I see UA-cam don't acknowledge a 'general audience' rating for a video. I sadly now have to drop a f bomb in a video and have a adult viewers warning to stop the system from wrecking my channel
Not sure what to suggest. Your channel is considerably larger than mine, so may just be that that brings you more attention and makes YT more cautious.

Your Koenig's restoration is nicely done. 👍
Wow! Good job. The commander looked rough. Excellent work Dave!

I really enjoy these Mego restorations.
Always a pleasant treat when a new toy polloi video pops up!
Cheers Dave!

Man...fantastic, going to have to check back through your vids! Absolutely love Space 1999 and had no idea there were related toys...
Good job. The hair finish looks great!
Nice restoration, set looks great
Brilliant as ever Dave - Loved the Mego Space 1999 figures from back in the day - it’s great to see them all together! 👍👍👍
Wow Dave those look really sharp!👍😁. I do not believe I have ever seen a complete set together like that. Very sharp! Congratulations 😁

I never got into 1999 ... It was something different , though and I can appreciate that
Awesome job Dave!

Great job. Stay safe bud.
The only one I ever had was Alan Carter... Great video, Dude. Be safe. :)
You should try an ultrasonic cleaner with soap and water on the clothing. I’ve found it works really well for literally everything.
I was wondering the same thing. Hasn't TP used an ultrasonic cleaner in other videos?
God I miss these old toys! Such better times back then.
No need to miss them. Get to your local toy fair and pick some up. Restoring them is great fun.
Great restoration as expected Dave.

Imagine if one had Space 1999, Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Wars. The fun you could have making it all fit together.
interesting that in your end shot with all the figures that the Commander's uniform looks beige compared to Paul's stark white one. What makes this ironic is that Koenigs uniform is now closer to the actual screen used color.
Oh joy, one of the aliens from the episode that messed with my head when I was a kid........ that's a nice flash back!

Space 1999 version of the round up gang from Toy Story with a happy ending
After you clean the bodies with soapy water. You should always use plastic polish on everything. It really restores the vibrancy to the toy. Just wanted to recommend it.
I like your opening credits..... reminds me of Nerva crashing in Revenge of the Cybermen;) If you've seen it, you'll get it...
It's a direct lift from Blakes 7 season 4.
A homage.
You can almost hear the figures say: THANK YOU!! 😜
Another great video and another pair of toys saved =)

Compared to the infamous Mego/Palitoy "Dr Who" doll (which I still have), that John Koenig is a damned good sculpt of Martin Landau.
Since you are particular about the sheen of the paint when you work on these things, it looks to me like the eyebrows probably need to be a matte finish without gloss. Wow, thanks for coming and watching.
Awesome 👍🏽
Didn't they make a figure of the science adviser played by Barry Morse? I swear that used to be in my sweet shop window when I was a kid.
That was the Mattel version. They had the license in the US.
I would of used Vanish powder mix with Boiling water then get a desert spoon and then spoon the soap (which is not hot ) on to the white uniform repeat it till covered then leave for 2 hours then rinse

4:00 - Commander John Koenig and his ‘Kinky Boots.’ Who knew?
Those are actually Star Trek boots, molded in white.
Men have action figures girls have dolls.lol.love your videos
And some have both 🤣 I know I do. Cheers
I'm not going to Dr Helena Russel for my first aid she uses sticky tape to fix a broken leg!! Haha
That alien could be used to make a Hulk villain , The Leader . That big head works
Lol my Spock figure doubled as Prince Namor once I popped his head onto a standard body .
I know there were also DR Bergman and Helena figures as well- I had them as a kid.
Those figures were made by Mattel. Palitoy made five figures, Koenig, Alan Carter, Paul Morrow, Captain Zantor, and the alien.
@@toypolloi I realized that after I commented. Thanks for the reply. Are the two makers close enough in size to use the Bergman and Russel heads on Palitoy bodies? Is there a female Palitoy body?
@@quasar8898 They are quite different in design body wise. I've not thought about swapping heads before?!
@@toypolloi Do I sense a project in the works.......LOL.
Could be. I don't see the Mattel figures much here in the UK.
Hallo :),
really like your video. It helped me with Pulsar.
Where can I find the S.’99 replicas?
Thanks.
The costumes Inthe show where actually bagde so being a bit of white makes it more orthentic
Shouldn't the belts be turned around? The clasps were to the front, not the back. Well done. I'm sure Martin Landau, Nick Tate, Anthony Valentine and Sir Christopher Lee would thank you.
I had the maya doll as well as Helena
Doesn't Humbrol make semi-gloss paint?
Matt or gloss.
👍👍👍👍
Didn't the humans also have weapons?
None of the palitoy figures came with accessories.
A drop of Plastic Weld on the crack on Anthony Valentine's, sorry, 'Mysterious Alien's' (from the episode 'War Games') arm would probably see that right, and stop it from spreading.

Wrong type of plastic for plastic weld. So it wouldn't so anything. I'll give it a go in the ultrasonic cleaner and see what happens.
@@toypolloi it looked like ABS to me. Polypropylene?

I've not had any issues with it so far. All my videos are aimed at a universal audience, and always have been.

Just For Men has no chance compared with your skills
It's funny, I've never seen a dull that looks like it's wearing underwear. I wonder if the female figures have pink underwear? 😁
Steve Austin is the same. so are later action men. Lots of dolls come with pants.
👍
