Ideal rotation next season... 1.) Gray 2.) 3.) Quinn Mathews or Libby 4.) Fedde 5.) Pallante Libby, Tink Hence, and McGreevy as the injury subs With Goldy, Lynn and Gibson coming off the books we'll have the money to go out and get another ace.
Thanks. It is helpful to hear stats to put things in perspective. The offensive production tells me it is an approach thing. We can improve a lot with a better process.
With the way they talking about Payroll. Seems to me like its gonna be Gray Fedde Pallante Mikolas then the 5th spot open for a McGreevy type ... with Matz in the BP as a swing and maybe you can trade him at the deadline ... you offload Goldy Gibson and Lynn thats 45 mil ... 2026 - Gray Matthews Hence and a FA ... Then Graý comes off the books 2027 ......... Contreras/Herrera. Burley/Baker. Donovan. Winn. Nado. Segesse. Walker siani scott noot ... thats not terrible ... if you could add a power hitting middle infielder (*or Gorman hits) in FA. Thats borderline good.
The Cardinals never gave him a chance to develop as a starter. Libby was put into the pen because of a lack of lefty relievers. However, being in the pen has helped him build confidence. He has shown he can go multiple innings when right. There are several reliever to starter successes such as AJ Puk, Renaldo Lopez, Hicks, and Garrett Crochet so it is not impossible. Next year if Libby continues success as a long reliever, I think he can transition. He's still young and gaining more experience and confidence.
I think the bigger question is, other than the "A's", White Sox, or Red's who would take Mikoloss? He's another one if Moe's terrible extensions.......Oops! My mistake. I forgot he gave Marmol an extension for last place. Keep Donavan at 2nd every day with Winn at 2nd. That gives you a good up the middle every day! Gorman is not a 2nd baseman. He doesn't have the range. Keep Libby in middle relief. He does well there. This team has a core nucleus of a few good everyday players in the field and on the mound that can be built on......But the same Rooks and Pawns running the Rodeo in the FO and dugout have too be replaced with "Baseball Minds." Not Analytical Bean Counters like now. Just my opinion. 🇺🇸
I’d move one of Noot or Donovan with Saggase coming and Weatherholt soon.. if you could package Gorman Noot for pitching wishlist is Mason Miller but they won’t do anything like that
While I'd appreciate baseball minds, everyone does analytics nowadays. If anything you need people that know how to do analytics right, and that's where Bloom would come in
I understand the hate for Mikolas but he leads the team in innings and Quality Starts. You should keep him and make him a back half rotation guy. The cardinals as an organization should just focus on putting an exciting team on the field.
I agree with moving Nado up. I just said that after he was playing so bad before. I think If everyone bats the way they are supposed to as in how they were hyped up to be then I think a lineup like that could definitely make the playoffs and have some hype. I agree it wouldn’t make sense to bring Dejong back. Just thought it would be fun and he’d definitely be a way better backup shortstop than Crawford was.
The Cardinals are only 5 games out of a playoff spot. Why do you think they have no chance of making it? It'll be hard for sure but they're not out yet.
Absolutely. Miles is a nice guy but his unstable performance record does not justify keeping him in the rotation. Maybe give him a shot at the BP at a lower base pay with a performance bonus if he works he was back to the rotation.
Stop with the Burleson playing 1st base next year. Get Baker out there and keep his bat in the lineup. Keep Burleson in the outfield and trade Nootbaar, Gorman, and McGreevy to Seattle for Logan Gilbert. Send Libby to Memphis so he can be a starter. Great, we have 4 #5 starters when we only need 1. This rotation should be good enough to where Pallante is the #5 starter, not Mikolas.
No, noot and Donovan are what they are. Walker, seggasse, and others are going to. (Winn and Burleson will improve but they are pretty good.and kinda r what they are) Donovan isn't sexy but he's decent and is what he is.
I’ve said this about Noot since the beginning. So much hype cuz his name and he can hit HRs in BP. Dude has had maybe one really good month and the rest has been trash. Sounds like that one really good month was a fluke and he’s really just not that good
@@roballen8431He's a solid utility man and he seems like a good dude. It was a good trade you won't convince me otherwise. Let's say Fedde does wipe out to me I would trade a utility player all day for a #4 or #5 starter because starting pitching is so hard to come by.
This is simply a what-if video, which is uninteresting until and if it happens. These type videos are usually put up due to lack of any real facts and are generally a waste of time listening to them. Sorry, but this is my honest opinion.

I’ll take a bag of Doritos for Mikolas at this point
Miles exasperates me. Guy has innings of brilliance sandwiched around WTF moment after WTF moment.

What team would be stupid enough to trade for Miles Mikolas?

Miles is an ok pitcher, but he definitely isn't worth $18 million per year . His contract should be more in line with what Lynn and Gibson got.
He isn’t worth $8
@@Drollpantheryea actually that's more like it, but you know starting pitchers get over paid in general. It damn sure shouldn't be $18 mil.

He already has the contract. Needs to be DFA’d. He’s getting paid like a top 25 starter in the league.
Miles and 10 million for nothing sounds good to me if we can have mcgreevy or graceffo in the rotation
Luken baker has a 972 ops this year. Why would you bring back Goldie when baker is already so much better? Just spend the money on someone else
1983, 1986 are other bad offensive teams

Sorry but don't see Donovan and Nootbaar being any better
Yeah they should move them for pitching

The only place you could trade arenado would be to the dodgers
Michaels have one of those Adam Wainwright
Yeah I don't think Donovan and especially Lars I think they're about as good as they're going to get
Donovan will develop more power as he gets older.he is the steady player on this team.if nootbaar can stay healthy he will be even better.
Who would you like to see as an outside org option as a possible replacement for Ward?
Do you see them moving Herrera or Pages
Do you see them going after a batter
No Mikolas sucks. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck. 5.27 era, great pitcher
Yes please get rid of miles, Lance, Kyle, and Matz. Dead arms and bad vintract
Fedde 4 earned runs in 5 amd one third innings.
Arenado hit a homer.
