- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Hey Post, I was just wondering, is it possible to build up the dam a bit higher or dig it deeper in the pooling area and make a waterfall of some sorts? Might be a cool project or idea 🤷♂️
How cool! My property line, on one side, is a little stream too. The other side resembles your woods. I love it out there. The rippling sound is so relaxing. The little frogs can drive me crazy visiting the house at night and absolutely cover the window by the lamp while they eat bugs! Thanks for all you show us.

The rust bubbles might have been tubercles from MIC or microbial induced corrosion.

I hope you know that some people watching this, me included, are city slackers and see this kinda area once in a blue moon. Even then, it's only areas that people walk through CONSTANTLY and you can't find trails that really look natural like the ones you walk through. Watching your videos sums up my nature life, man. Kinda wish it could be different. Maybe one day it will be.

That looks like a nice little place to put some tadpoles in during the summer. I've seen projects on UA-cam where hydropower is made out of small streams like that.

you should make a mini Hidro dam
You should construct a sturdy fence on the property line, preferably a mighty wall, turn your property into an impenetrable fortress with watchtowers, bunkers, turrets, tank traps etc

I have a small stream going through my property. It dries up a lot too. But when it's got water, the crawdad's like to hang out there. I even put one in a fish tank one time.

Yeah, I was just using this as a water supply when I first bought the property because the plumbing was all busted from it not being winterized. Now
I got the well working and
all the plumbing replaced

A bag of ready mix cement for a water tight dam and then excavation of the deep patch during the dry summer months would make this better, have you thought about a permanent wildlife streaming web cam on your property?

I thought you got water from the dam. But i definitely prefer a more natural look.

Thatis what our stream looks like excelt its maybe 10 feet king but kater it gets 20 feet long and u get stuck in the mud smells like rotten eggs etc.
