A lot of videos that show supposedly better ways of doing something are usually the same as far as time taken, and results generated. Some of them are a total waste of time, and are not always the safest to perform. Having spent years doing residential renovations you learn to make a lot of your own tools, and come up with some incredible techniques. Rarely are any brilliant, but this one definitely hits the mark, especially if you don't have time to go to a store, or else they're closed. This I will definitely put to good use. Thanks for posting this.
Yeah, all you have to have is pieces of wood that will fit through the holes, clamps, a drill with drill bits, and wood to drill the hole in. Seems like just buying dowels is a more brilliant idea and less waste of time.
@@ceedogg4270 having spent decades doing all types of renovations and having to McGiver things that you can't purchase. Uau sensacional muito boa sua Ideia Adorei nossa maguinifico Parabéns Deus o Abençoe muito 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I normally don't watch videos like this. I'm glad I did. Thank you so much.
Has dowel become so expensive that you have to invent a jig like this to make it? Not taking away from this ingenious idea that came out of someone’s mind. Outstanding! I’m sure I’d have never thought of it.
Man that’s so cool! I had no idea what you were making at first. Thanks for the idea!
The saw blades should be oriented opposite each other to match the direction of the spinning dowel
Nobody asked for your unsolicited advice
the blades should be in the trash and the person should be at the store buying dowels
@@huckwild6464 why spend money if you don't have to. Nothing wrong with recycling what you have.
Maybe it worked better this way. Maybe they bit the wood too much like that and this somehow solves it.

I live in Japan and enjoy crafting. This is a pretty useful video.
At first I was thinking "I'm not taking advise from a guy missing a finger." but I have to admit that the dowel making jig is clever.
This is without a total shock to me. This is a brilliant to take broken jig saw blades and make dowels from them. Thanks for the vid!
Can’t wait until the next time I hear someone say you can’t fit a square peg into a round hole
very clever, great comment
Oh yeah? Just watch me! Good stuff!

Si señor 👌🏻 la cabeza tiene que estar para pensar 👌🏻🔥
Excelente parabéns, realmente não conhecia.
Glad to see he’s not taking any chances after his career as a butcher ended badly 🤙
😅🤣
You need to have at least one finger missing to qualify as a wood machinist (LOL)
I love it. I never throw my Bosch jigsaw blades. Now I can make a dowel rod jig. Thanks!
I have yards of old bandsaw blades that can be reused in ways like this. I’ll get around to it. ……one of these days….
Wow, glad I watched this. Great idea 💡
you should turn the blades opposite ways so that it cuts in both directions, otherwise only one blade is cutting. I was skeptical but this is actually interesting....
