I don’t care what anyone says, this is a top 10 Metallica song. Sounds of Ride the Lightning and Puppets, aggression of kill ‘em All, and song structure kinda like Justice but with bass. Kick ass!!!
technically in their Lovecraft/Cthulhu Mythos inspired group of songs with Call of Ktulu, The Thing That Should Not Be, and Dream No More In an interview, James Hetfield commented on the song's lyrical meaning: "I like to keep it as vague as possible, so it can plug into your life. It almost didn't make it. The chorus is a leftover from St. Anger. It was an attempt to get back to the H. P. Lovecraft mythos with Thing That Should Not Be, Call of Ktulu. This was about the Hounds of Tindalos, which was another crazy mindfuck about these wolves that hunt through their nightmares and the only way you can get away from them is stay within angles. You can't even escape through sleep."
You guys need to react to the new album 72 seasons which came out this year. A lot of bangers like the title track, Lux aeterna and room of mirrors to name a few
What I love about this song is it is experimental and weird Metallica but still has old school Metallica thrash dna. I wish Load and Reload had more of this.
I have this on my car's playlist, and it is DANGEROUS! If you two see a black '22 Elantra N with a Thundercats decal on the rear window going 120 MPH on 95....that's me. When traffic gets the heck out of my way, Wells to Westbrook in 15 minutes flat 😊!
i think this song is about night terrors. sometimes called the old hag syndrome. people wake up in the middle of the night with something they perceive as an evil entity sitting on their chest so they can't breathe. or they see a dark figure standing in their room to frighten them. it's like being constantly chased by something and you can't escape it. i wouldn't be surprised if a much higher % of people with night terrors also have substance abuse issues. it's like the same demon that tries to destroy them during the day with drugs also shows up to destroy them with fear while they sleep.
Great song. They had two great songs on an otherwise mediocre album in Death Magnetic. The other song worth checking out is “The Day That Never Comes”.
@@shmick6079 i think the day that never comes feels way more forced. I love the early part of that song but it just drags on and on. It wants be like One but doesnt come close to it. Judas kiss keeps me interested whole way through
The song could fit on any of their albums - because it is so generic & predictable! When you know what it is going to feel & sound like.....before hearing it.....that's not a great sign right?
@@vdawg2224 maybe sell out not best term but a change in musical direction with more commercial producers. When metal bands lose their anger and chase the money the music suffers
@zombieapocalipse2020 lol what do you call st. anger then? Same producer. Also, by your logic, they would just make the black album over and over again. Instead they made load and reload. What actually happened was they explored thrash and long songs as far as they wanted to and challenged themselves by writing shorter songs, more bluesier songs, even non rock/ metal songs. That tells me they stayed true to what they've been saying since Mustaine and Burton were in the band - they write what they want and if someone thinks they are doing it for the money, fuck em
@@vdawg2224 lol st Anger was one of the worst, with lars hitting tin cans. I'm dipping from this fan boy conversation. Btw there was no bigger fan in the early days, seen them a few times.
A great song. The entire Death Magnetic album is phenomenal 🔥🤘👿🖤
killer comeback album no doubt
criminally underrated by Metallica fans.

The instrumental break in this song is one of the best throwbacks to old school Metallica in their recent music.
Should have watched the official video!! One of the best music videos ever!

this whole album was certified gigachad
Alot of people give this era alot of crap.this song kicks ass....thats all thank you
You should react to the longest Metallica song ever “inamorata” , it has a lyric video. It’s extremely good.
🔥🤘🏽🔥

Guys you really need to listen to 72 seasons 😉
the song is about Werewolfs......play this song over the final battle of Dog Soldiers, it's NUITS
Please do spit out the bone! You wont be disappointed!
This is what the enemy is hearing for the last time
Listen to music from 1950-1960, then listen to the first Beatles album to the last then tell me what you think!

Judas kiss is better than both of em. That chorus alone makes it god tier
@@Nichwar19 the chorus is good, but the rest of the song is mid and the solo seems forced.

The day that never comes is one the best songs... from an old school Metallica die hard
Surprised you have not reacted from anything on the recent 72 seasons album.

@@TheJerseyNinja They reacted to many hardwired songs
See how easy for you to jam to Metallica...which to many sounds like noise
If any Metallica album needs a remix and remaster it's this clipping pile of Rick Rubin bs!!!!!!!!!!
Well, still "Rebel of Babylon" is better.
that is the most adhd ipad kid intro to a video ever
Good riffs and parts but there’s actually Too many change ups in this and not enough flow for me. Catchy chorus tho.

I liked metallica when they were good before the black album when they sold out with bob rock and became predicable and pop
Wait, didn't they sell out when they did a video for One? Or when they wrote a ballad/Fade to black?

Do a new metallica video already. Reuploads are so dumb
