Hello my dear friends, It is a great feeling to be with you again. As always, I missed your comments, your thoughts, and talking about them together. In this work, I share with you the restoration process of an antique wooden door bell case. As always, you will be satisfied with wood craft. I was very satisfied with the condition of the case after the work was finished. I hope you will also be pleased to watch this process. Functionality, aesthetics and marks of time, I restored on these three elements. In addition to intensive woodworking, I also did lathe work in this project. Also I have prepared a little surprise for you about the history of my workshop. Other parts of this antique doorbell were restored by my friend @meinemechaniker . If you wish, you can find the relevant video on his channel. While presenting all this craft work to you, I tried to share my aesthetic perception and beauty philosophy with you as much as possible and as always, I added my love for nature and animals. Also as always, my dear cat co-workers were very helpful in this project. I hope you like this work of mine, where I live many seasons of life together. Instagram @byoldhand / It will be a pleasure to see you there too. Don't forget to like and subscribe if you like it. I would be glad. I greet you all sincerely. byOldHand

Beautiful video!! I truly enjoy watching your videos. Your craftsmanship is a trait I long to aspire to. I watch your videos for inspiration and tips on improving my own work. I am an architect by education, a carpenter by trade but yet still learn from watching you work. Would ever consider providing the names of the products you use in your videos in the description area. I would love to find US equivalents to them...such as the wood primer you used and the mysterious purplish liquid you've used in other videos. I realize your time is precious, but I would truly love to achieve (as close as possible) the results you produce in your work. Thanks as always for such inspiring videos and for sharing your world with us.

Apart from the work which, as always, embraces perfection, I would like to dwell for a moment on how this artist manages to resist temptation. Those temptations that are inherent in every restorer of this modern age; the use of power tools, chemical compounds, prefabricated materials and other modern equipment. The temptation of wanting to apply cold industrial precision and their surgical and perfect functionality to make an antique wood shine. The temptation to modernise, to machine polish, to show how aggressively modernity can restore an old piece of wood to its former glory. You, my friend, have built a workshop of time, where the most important piece of machinery is you and your unwavering willpower, in giving new life to the antique with the ancient means and above all with your knowledge and skill. Long live craftsmanship.
That was great! The time, effort and commitment you give to the piece is beautiful. Watching your videos is like a meditation. The journey is the destination.
Such perfection and attention to detail in every video. I am not alone in saying your audience anticipates each of your performances. Thank you my friend for bringing some happiness into our lives.
An excellent job finished to perfection, I really enjoy watching the process and the care given to each piece. I see the quality control kitty watching to make sure the details were all strictly adhered to. Thank you for the video and appreciate all efforts put into it.
I felt the pleasure in the completed product, and your shared enjoyment of the journey there. Going above, to restore the glow to that ancient timber. I’ll think of you when next tempted to take a shortcut when flush sawing off a dowel, to stop and do it properly. So avoiding sanding out saw marks later. I connect with your striving for sympathetic perfection in your restorations. Thank you
Dear friend, I am glad to see your new video here again, as before, I like it very much! I plan to visit Istanbul (but with a tourism group) this autumn, so I am studying some information. Surprisingly, in this video, I see an old barrel factory image which gives me a link to learn your studio’s history, it’s a fantastic 16th-century building! And I love it very much. I am so happy that I seem to walk around in such a beautiful historic Site! Good day, and good luck to you! Thank you very much again!

Thank you very much dear friend, great tos ee you here also thank you for advice 👌🏻⚙️⚒️ Yes I sometimes use but I really like contrast touch in restoration. I usually use dowels to see the end grain
Hi. Nice work. I would like to note two things for some viewers who, like myself, may have been puzzled when you used the recycled hacksaw blade as a scraper to lever the wooden lid. The non-tooth side of the blade was used on the wood. And the round end of the hacksaw blade was on the wood to avoid scoring that would result from the sharp cut edge. I must also call out that if anyone hasn’t given a piece of wood a shave this, do it today. It is a very satisfying feeling. Thank you : )
