The Legal and Ethical Governance of AI

The current legal frameworks struggle to keep pace with AI's rapid advancements and new regulations are needed. They discuss the Bletchley Agreement, a recent treaty advocating for international oversight of AI development and deployment. The European Union has also taken a leadership role by establishing a four-tier risk assessment framework for AI. In contrast, the United States has opted for a more sectoral approach, delegating risk assessment to various government agencies within their respective domains.
There are multiple legal and ethical implications of AI in business, so institutions should be mindful of these potential risks and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
