Appreciate this type of video and especially how close you hold the device to camera. When watching on a phone screen you this closeness!
Great video and very useful for consumers.
Also, having the Fire Emblem logo on top of the screen is a bold creative choice that I can respect.
Also remember with f zero gx, the emulator automatic disables multi core function. You have to enable it every time in the games options prior to running it. Every time. No idea why dolphin Devs automatically disabled it

@@wordsmith451 unfortunately yes, because it's a manual override. Multi core rendering should be enabled by default and it pretty much is across the board, except for f zero and maybe some other games people haven't noticed or really play. The only way to change that would be to edit their override file... But I have no idea what part of their script is doing just that.
Easy fix, edit the game override config file.

We are getting so close to that "perfect ps2/gamecube" handheld. Feels like we are 90% of the way there. Ill probably end up upgrading my miyoo mini to the pocket 6 at this rate when it comes out

I’m in the same boat. I just bought the RP3+ last year and I been having a lot of fun with it, but I’m gonna wait for the “perfect” Retroid 6 😂 Some days I think about the Odin 2 but the “pocketable” factor of the retroid consoles is something that stops me from purchasing it

Paying console prices for barely console speeds doesn't make sense. Paying $200 for something handheld that can manage Gamecube/PS2/PSP/Wii graphics is the perfect price point for a handheld.
The Odin and Loki or whatever exist because the emulators aren't great, but as the emulators start taking better advantage of the hardware available Ayn will unfortunately start building cheaper units because having that much power isn't necessary.
We already have the Switch, the point is something handheld that does everything before the Switch.

The Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is definitely the Goldilocks Zone of handhelds in terms of size, price, and performance.

Thanks for testing out so many games! I'm really looking forward to getting mine. I saw in Taki Udon's showcase that Twilight Princess ran poorly out in Hyrule Field which is a real shame; but this system might finally fulfil my decades-long dream of playing Wind Waker on a handheld!
I think there is a hack to fix that.

I actually played and finished wind waker on the RP3+, and it ran with 0 issues. Absolutely perfect. And since the RP4 and RP4Pro are even more powerful, these will be perfect to fulfil your dream :)

Great video! I’d love to see some random PS2 games tried if possible? My requests would be Rugby 2004, Manhunt, The Getaway, State of Emergency, Cricket 2004, GTA games and any FIFA games between 2000-2010. I’m from the UK so apologies for the random requests 😉

i also was thinking on getting Retroid 4pro but with shipping and import it cost 300€. For the normal website price the 4 pro is an awesome device. With import and shipping… not so much.

Amazing work. Thank you it makes me wait for my own RP4Pro... Thank you o make other videos with other consoles, Try Nintendo switch, indie games or Light games. We know that it doesn't work for heavy titles but i wonder if it could emulates 2D or light 3D indies games

Are all ROMS more or less created equal? Like will some ROMS (assuming its the same exact game and from the same region) be smoother than others or will it be the same throughout?

Hi Restalgia. I just wanted to ask what file format do you use to run both GameCube and Wii games. I was playing Super Smash Bros Brawl and the game was having graphical issues, and the game hung and crashed.
Ure doing an amazing job ! Can you play KH birth by sleep and GTA on PSP and Pokémon games for the 3DS ? I was shy because of the green screen and now I wait patiently your next video to make my choice!
Very cool to see. So those need for speed games that are running pretty poor at like 40FPS, those are 1x? So if I'm understanding right there's some that it just straight up doesn't have the power for that something like the Odin2 with the same emulator would be able to do?
Bit unfortunate, but it's still HUGE that you can play so many at a locked 60. Def. think I'll be upgrading my 3+.
You should try some lightweight vita games
Thanks for the thorough videos on this. Interested in buying one of these as my first handheld emulator. How durable are things things generally? It’s not gonna brick itself after a year?
Not usually, they are running on Android and unless you are doing things like rooting the device or things way outside of normal usage you will be fine.
How well does Gauntlet Dark Legacy emulate? That use to be my favorite gamecube game and i still haven't even tried it on my RG505 yet.
Love to see it perform so well, sucks about some of the the need for speed games tho

Can you try the displartport usb-c how does it work with an external monitor ? Does it reproduce the screen of the device or it can extend and fit the resolution of the external monitor ?

Hi! I dont know why, but when I try to play DKC returns on Wii, I have a small flickerin square on the upper left side of the screen..I tried to decrease the CPU speed on Dolphin...I dont know what to do....
Im wondering if Mario Strikers is in there for both WII and GameCube.
Is there no way to hook a capture card to these devices? The FPS counter is too small to follow with this camera angle.
Also would be helpful to be able to see which games were running at 1x res and which ganes were 2x res.

Doesn't come with any games pre-loaded but it will play ds games with no issues on the drastic emulator.

Is the RP 4 Pro a Wii handheld? All games you tested seem to run at full 60 fps. Why did you use only the analog? The Dpad is inactive on that emulator? How do Super Mario Galaxy run on that device?
Mario Galaxy can run, but it's cumbersome due to the motion controls.
Many wii games don't run great, and I used analog primarily because of how u mapped the inputs, you can map anyway you like.
I would not buy this specifically for wii games as you will be limited. Gamecube on the other hand seems to be fairly good

I don't get it, how are you getting F-Zero GX to play so smoothly? when I have high performance mode and tested both dolphin from the playstore beta and github I always get dips in the first stage :/ (yes I'm on the rp4pro)
You have to go into the game specifc settings and allow it run with dual cores. For some reason when you just launch normally, dolphin force it to run on a single core.

Any fix for the Metroid prime echos skipping?
I'm really confused why Mario Sunshine is running so poorly here, it runs at 25fps locked on Dolphin Mobile (PAL) for me on my RP3+

Is the standard mode loud? You think you can play most games without turning on the fan? I have tinnitus, so this is quite problematic for me (the noise). Why about the fan wind, can you feel it in your fingers? I can get a RP4 pro quite easily and fast since i live in China, but its been days trying to decide if i buy the 3+ or 4 because of the fan. Thank you
In standard mode the fan is not loud at all, even in performance mode it can be set to quiet. It's only in high performance mode on the highest setting that it's obnoxious. You definitely can't play ps2 or ps vita without high performance mode, but you can probably do most of the rest at reasonable specs on either standard or performance settings.
As for feeling the fan, it's not that noticeable even on the high setting.

Yep, some games were weird like star wars rogue leader, but that game didn't run well anyway.
*I love that Retroid go after that actual market. Ayn is going after a market of power-hungry gamers I think that forget they have a Switch or Steamdeck already*
Please try PS2 Games ( Twisted Metal, Silent Hill, Gran Turismo, Tekken,etc) and Switch Games (Oddisey, Zelda, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Freeze, etc)

The arcade gamer in me would play the 2D games with the analog stick just for a little bit of that old school arcade joystick 🕹 feel.
