@@frusignu2011 can do. I happen to have a new roll of deadener in my living room 😉. Have to wait for warmer weather though. Cant apply it when it’s freezing out.
HERE IT ISSSS.This was almost my first upgrade because of how bad the sound is. I spent a year in my 2021 not listening to music for the most part. I don't really want to do that again.
Took a look with a flashlight in my WRX with Harman Kardon and can confirm that they are 6x9 with a decent sized voice coil. Cannot say on the size of the magnet since i did not pull the door card off. I know the sub they put in the back, the magnet is kinda small. It has a enough power to vibrate the side mirrors though.
I need to do this eventually.. I’m not a big audio person but I gotta turn the volume up to 25+ to even hear the radio and 28+ blows all the speakers out 😂😂😂
I talked with one of the guys at my subaru and asked him to dig into the head units stats and even he couldn't find shit man so not just you. I'm going to look into the redline series, I want a sound upgrade, would like a nice Amp and sub as well, just trying to find the logistics for it. Sucks that I'm saving for a house rn so no tuner for me, can't blow it up unless I got a spare, FYI not trying to scare ya but make sure to keep an eye on the oil, they are having an rtv issue where it gets stuck in the oil pickup, this apparently is fairly common, so watch your oil pressure and Temps. I hope someone comes out with a built transmission and clutch upgrade some time this year, I'd do it in a heartbeat, also the arp headstuds, a bigger snail/ injectors and fuel pump. Just hoping some of these big shots push the vb to the limit so I know where I'm standing stock, doesn't help that I'm impatient.... I just want a few more ponies, then a few more..... and the cycle repeats! Cheers, you got a consistent viewer here!
So far they are right at 500wtq and 450+whp I won’t ever get there so not worried about it. They already have upgraded clutch. Trans so far nobody has had failure I’m aware of. The rtv so far is very rare for failure but yes it’s in my mind. Hopefully no issues man.
Did you have issues with the radio cutting out or it giving a fault? What ohms are the factory speakers? What ohms are your new ones? Did you have issues with water getting in the speakers if they are deeper than the factory? If you didn’t what is the depth of the speakers you got?
@@Flatline_WRX Looking at audio upgrade now cause the base model is still lack luster. The one thing the HK had over the base model was the stock subwoofer. Have you thought about adding one? I think OEM Audio sells a 2022+ WRX Sub kit
@toku1444 OEM audio is hella over priced IMO. Yea ima add a substage at some point. I had all the equipment set honestly and someone broke into my house and stole it 😢 so now I gotta get more, but yes that’s my plan.
@@Flatline_WRXBro I am so so sorry to hear that!!! Watching the rest of the vids I know you will come back strong! Keep the iron ready for them next time! You can resuscitate them if need be lol
Have you had any experience with the dedicated midrange speakers DD offers? I was looking into the VO-M Midrange Speakers on their website, about 119$ for a pair. I figured that with how loud and bright the stock tweeters are that we dont need more tweeters with the 2way speakers. I dont have a ton of experience in car audio though, mostly just headphones.
Yea that’s where I’m at man is the stock tweeters are fine ( for now ) when I decide to add amp to drive kids and highs I will upgrade the tweets but to be driven by the stock unit they are more than enough.
I cut that section of the video out for time reasons. When it was flipped over the bolt holes didn’t line up. It’s hard to tell in video but the holes are aligned a specific way to one side of the bracket. Not by a whole lot but enough to make a difference and meant you had to keep it a specific orientation
The factory speakers suck. I think the head unit is OK so speakers will go along way for most folks. you can get those plastic pry bar kits at Walmart for 5 bucks. I wouldnt use a screwdriver.
I just subbed. Please go into sound deadening material and how to fix the rattle on my door panels for the 2022 wrx. Thanks ahead of time my dude.

Do it! Lol
@@Flatline_WRX speaker prices like that I actually just might.
Honestly not bad for “entry level” and DD is amazing quality

Yea the HK ain’t bad for normal use for sure
Toyota is a part owner of Subaru, so it makes sense they would use some common connectors.
Great video! Made it look easy enough to do!!
It really isn’t that bad honestly
Hopefully someday somebody come up with a complete kit with all the speakers and Hardware you need In one kit.
That would be nice yes

Yes! Also the setting have a lot to do with it. I make a short showing the settings I use to help keep blowout from happening so much.
I didn't notch it. It just flexed the plastic on the side. I didn't feel like buying a dremel
I feel like a pocket knife could do it as well. I used a box knife honestly lol

Harmon Kardon sounds good. The door panels can't handle it really.
HK is slightly better than base. The panels correct stock have no deadener. Add a smidge and solve all issues
Did you disconnect the battery or is that unnecessary for this upgrade?
@@christophermiehl7135 not needed.
I have to be safe and tell you to always disconnect battery …. But real world…. It’s not needed man
Did also change the rear speakers. Or just the fronts
I did. Video coming. There are plenty other upgrades as well😉

Link to exact speakers used are in the description that have all info you are after. No issue at all going on 1 year now.
I’ve had HK in my 2015 premium, it was ass even compared to my 2013 Nissan maxima. I’ve always been genuinely disappointed with Subaru audio.
yea its pretty trash to be honest hahah

There's 5 things i don't like about my 2022 WRX 4 of them ate the infotainment unit. I have the Harmon Kardon.
Hahaha yea man that infotainment is something else lol
Is that black cover inside the door some kind of Sound insulation?
Moisture barrier
Thanks! I've upgraded the Amp (Beat-Sonic) of my Subby Crosstrek 2024 and speakers are my next project@@Flatline_WRX

Why wouldnt you just spin that speaker bracket?

Did you get the darker trim around the door handle off a Limited?
Not exactly what you are referring to, but the car is a base model and aside from the red vinyl wrap I haven’t altered the door panels any.
The link for the speakers take us to a unit that is no longer made. Do you have an updated speaker by chance?
Yea apparently DD stopped them. Really any good news quality 6x9 for the front is great. The Kicker CS series is amazing for the price.

Correct. I always say use plastic spudger if possible
