Always nice to see how others do a clean audio install. I added an amp under the driver's seat in my Crosstrek a couple years ago. I followed the same path for the power wire. That empty gromet you used is for the rear washer fluid hose on other hatchback models. I just shared the hood latch cable gromet for my power wire. It's a clean, discrete run.
Thank you for sharing the wiring routing! I just ran it following your path into the passenger compartment and I'm going to install the amp under the driver seat. Putting the fender liner back on does not require removing the plastic outer fender, if you slide your hand in from the bottom of the fender liner so that that lip lines up between the fender and the plastic outer fender if will line up. Takes a few minutes but you do not have to take off the entire plastic outer fender. YMMV
I am so glad you picked up this car!! Now Im finally going to have a good guide when it comes to audio upgrade. Took my vb to an audio shop and the first thing they did was drilled a hole 😢. I have the same amp you do plus and Audio control lc5i pro. Hopefully you can make a video on all the settings for the amp!!! Love your content.
Right on, I got the Lc7i under the passenger seat. I'm pretty happy right now I think. I do have an epicenter I think I am installing as well soon. Thanks for watching!
Love the videos keep ‘em coming!! I’ve been upgrading my 2017 WRX stereo system (non Harmon). So far I installed the idoing head unit, and did the kicker speaker upgrade. Now I’m getting ready to install an amp and sub. Do I just need the RCA Y-splitter to go into the single brown RCA jack? Or is there another way? Not much out there on adding a sub and amp to idoing units… thanks!
