Leopard killing Jackal pup

- We were on our morning game drive when we spotted this female leopard walking through the bushes. We observed & followed her for almost an hour as she kept stopping and looking around for some prey. At one point, as she walked past our vehicle, she suddenly positioned herself in the stalking mode and sat down right next to our vehicle. This is when we realised that she'd seen (or probably heard) a Jackal pup behind our vehicle. This pup was from a litter of 3 pups which we'd spotted the previous evening in a den nearby, their mom was not seen anywhere nearby. This one pup seemed to have lost it's way outside the den this morning and happened to get spotted by this leopard who was in search of prey. The rest can be seen in the video below.
Its that camera or machine gun? 😂
hahahah thats wat i too confused
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😄
Its a Bazooka.
It’s a CANON
Its bazooka
The leopard using the humans as a distraction and cover. Very clever.
Is he gonna eat the jackal or just kill it? Predators don’t usually eat other predators??
In this case the leopard did eat the Jackal pup, some predators do eat others.
I'd feel safe in in an opened topped SUV.
Can we talk about how great this quality is?!!
yes, let's talk about it....
wtf ??

Wow that burst of speed was breathtaking
Everyone is busy criticizing the tourists. Can we take a moment and appreciate that leopard's acceleration?
It was awesome. It leaped into a sprint. The jackel didn't stand a chance.
Leopards move beautifully.
Umm..NO
He pounce on the jackal pup and kills it
Leopard was on the jackal in the blink of an eye....wow !
Park Rangers: We dont interfere with wild life. We let nature take its course, no matter how cruel.
Also park Rangers: While nature takes its course we park 10 jeeps full of load tourists in the middle of the park so they can take flash photos, but we never interfere with the wildlife though.
Thy don’t really care about the jeeps cause they see them all the time
And what's your point? They're observing
yea your trucks are so noisy and distracting that the predators have an unfair advantage and you know that so you you tourist get to see a kill !
John hamilton something with sharp teeth and claws will always have an advantage over something that doesn’t, moron.
The smart kitty knows the cars can attract prey on the scavenge
And kitty was right
i had to watch that on mute, you make too much noise, even the Leopard is like stfu.
I think that the Leopard would encourage tourist to speak louder, as it cover his approach
@Equality for all European tourists are far worse.
@@theyhateuscuztheyaintus6057 FR
1:48. very interesting that it leaped prior to taking off. It's like shaving off a split second prior to the jackal noticing and reacting. It not only it shorten the distance that it must chase, the leap allowed it to hit the ground already accelerated and allowed to reach top sprint much quicker.
NO ONE DOES A BETTER CRAWL LIKE A LEOPARD

The leopard is a paid actor

Time for some new fucking material, 'toni...'
The guy who shot in burst mode while the leopard stood still needs to realize that if one photo turns out shitty they are all shitty.
Obviously you are not a photographer. Using burst mode in those once ina life time situations allows one to capture micro adjustments in face, eyes and body position that may elevate a good pic to an extraordinary one.
@@saffronblaze7763 leopard : looks away
Yep facial micropositions

Your right Tony Montana. Now say hello to my little Friend....
This just feels way different than seeing this type of scenario in a documentary.
Interesting how the cat just doesn't grab a tourist out of the vehicle. the Cat treats the noisy vehicle full of noisy blobs, with disdain.
Dmm Dmm543 when a cat spots it prey it's main focus it there, the leopard chose it's choice therefore it's easier to hunt something small then big.. unless hungry of course
@@T_E_G thankyou for the kind response. I've seen this in house cats and hunting dogs. Deer bucks in rut have walked right next to me while chasing female deer. This kind if fixation could be dangerous.
Leopards know humans are superior to animals? No, they don't at all. Infact, nearly all animals don't come to the conclusion that humans are superior to all animals because they aren't able to process it. The wildlife in general ignore the people because they're on a jeep. Jeeps emit the gas smell telling the animals that they aren't food, plus the fact that the jeep is big. If people were photographing lions on foot, the lions would come after them.
And I treat animals with equal disdain.
The animals are used to them, so much so that predators will hide behind them to pounce on their prey. Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone.
But wtf! Ratatatata ratatata ratatata!
Camera bullets?!? It’s incredible how much freaking human noise brought to wildlife...
And that Ratatat tat noise from the camera may have distracted The Jackal puppy who was not experienced with such noises allowing the adult leopard an easier chance to kill.
R C why not just film with a 4K camera and pick out photographs.
@Brian Scholl me too
The noise is so annoying
This jump was VERY fast, incredible good job leopard
Yes, must festoon the Range Rover with cup holders for the over-fed first-world-rich tourists with their cellphones and the camouflaged telephoto lens. God forbids these people get thirsty watching the life and death struggles of these animal.
Corn dog for lunch!
lions ignore jackals, leopards eat everything even insects.
lions do kill hyenas but they dont eat them
Leopards are by far the most succesful hunters among the big cats.
@@angelmannj Sometimes they do
@@MrRazorblade999 i stand corrected...i saw a clip where the males were eating a hyena... the males sunk so low! :-(
@@angelmannj i believe lions only eat hyenas when they are very hungry. Hyena meat is probably very tough and full of parasites
You have got a great shot and its rare sight. The leopard and the tiger are the only two big cats that removes the hair of animals before eating it. This has been captured very well. Continue the good work. We filmed two tigers fighting for a kill. The growls of the tigers were insane. Lucky to capture it for our channel. The video we filmed shows how ferocious these big cats are.

What an incredible acceleration this animal has
Damn...life and death. One must die, so one can live.
Same as humans. One big cauldron battle of whose species/culture lives or dies
If I were there, I would have spooked the Leopard so he couldn't eat that little Baby. I know it's wrong, But it's a baby! It should be eating something has enjoyed a lot of life not a little
Modern mirrorless cameras with electronic shutter don’t make farting sound like this. Dude, change your shitty dlsr for something with silent shutter
That acceleration was impressive
1:56 action time
This is very close to the "action". If your vehicle just happened to be where it was when this occurred, fine. But I'm seeing a lot of footage that suggests some tour operators are taking people very close, invasively close to apex predators.
When you consider the immense damage people have done (and sadly still do) to lion, leopard and cheetah populations, it's crucial we do all we can to redress the balance. No killing is the first and major step. Severe punishment of those who do kill is also very important. Outside of direct harm is the preservation of their natural habitat.
I mentioned the big cats specifically here, but there are plenty of other species whose conservation status ranges from vulnerable to critically endangered. Our attitudes, individually and collectively, need to change with regard to the way we view wild animals. Part of that change has to come from the way these animals are presented to us in media. It's not something people think to discuss, but I've noticed a real issue in the packaging of zoological/natural history programs. It's a whole other comment, really, but in short, over-dramatizing 'content' with portentous underscoring and action movie trailer narration sells the 'product' short. Similarly, anthropomorphizing animals and the dynamics between animals actually serves, inadvertently, a negative purpose.
Amazing how the animals are so habituated to the vehicles. It's like they're not even there.
They use them for cover. The sounds helps the prey not hear the predators as well.
stupid sound from cameras
No supermarkets out here. Gotta run the food down, kill it, and clean it yourself.
Can't send out for a pizza.
Nope, no Purina outdoor formula Leopard Chow.
Stealth technology to be learnt from a leopard

I love when they do that "air dance!"
Leopard: it’s free fast food
When will the lions and leopards realize the easiest meal is pink and squishy sitting in right in front of them?
Except that we're not the easiest meal. Big cats are living alongside our tribes for thousands of years, they know very well that the humans are off limits.
It’s funny how the animals just ignore the people.
Maybe it’s the rules of the park.
Jackal pup killed because of you stupid people keep on talking and making noises makes the pup not aware of the leopard. I hate People who keep on doing these to animals.

Something about this always bothers me. Idk it just doesn't seem right with these people that close filming. Poor animals no privacy what so ever. Imagine you're out shopping for food or laying down trying to sleep and you have 5 or 6 people huddled around you taking pictures and staring at you. Just let the animals live in peace 😔

Possum Green to be fair, the leopard basically gave zero fucks about the tourists and in general the animals just ignore them(they just see the car and people as one animal),

Be smart Most preditor animals are canibols. If the mother is not close by to protect,..young animals fall prey to other adults.
Animals will be freaking animals.
Leopards are predator not very nice and kind like people think.
Catfish,turlte,eagles yep
Truck noise helped leopard hunt, if engine was off, little animal would've greater chance to survive.
Tourists were partner in crime.

Good kitty.
Na Africa selvagem a vida vale muito pouco. Os animais se devoram implacavelmente.

Is the Jackal puppy disturbed by the sounds of the automobile and the camera? Human world invading the natural habitat again to the detriment in this case of the Jackal puppy. Film footage is always nice sometimes humans get too involved.

Thumbs down for the insufferable people that cannot shut up while watching nature!
Why does the leopard don't try the truck full of snacks..🤔
I've asked myself why why do any healthy minded people want to watch another animal kill another it when it happens but why watch it no doubt you go to the toilet all of you when you need to but we don't want to watch it so stop filming these things
Cheetah, lion, hyenas, wild dogs no one eats jackals except leopard
For some people in this comment section who don't know what they're talking about :
1. Baby animals being eaten is very common thing. Even leopard cubs can meet the same fate as this jackal pup. We can't be sure if this jackal pup can survive even if the car's not there, considering the mom isn't around.
2. In African safari you can ride on open safari vehicles safely even with predators around. As long as you remain on the vehicle, predators will ignore you. It's the big herbivore such as elephants and buffaloes that you should worry about, not the carnivores.
And then leopards conplain about lions.
Damn jackal pup, gave up his position with all of the unnecessary squealing. Let that be a lesson to 'im.
Pup made noices because it was distressed. It most likely saw the leopard but didn't know what to make of it so it called for mommy.
Jackals usually go in packs too. Either the pup was abandoned or just separated, it was doomed either way.
misterclownface- Apparently you didnt attend the school of sarcasm. ;-)

I watched a video where a wildebeest calf made the same mistake after a lion pride caused it to be separated from its herd. The only difference was the leopard had already spotted and was heading towards the jackal pup; the lions were unaware of and passed the calf. It was only when one lioness came back she realized it was there.
