I normally pay more attention to what's happening in the background more than lead vocals, and I've been humming/whistling that Rhodes part since 1977. Thanks for breaking it down, now I shall attempt to play it.

I like Rhodes, especially since I know historically the city of Rhodes was home to a statue named, colossis. Also the keyboards are great, for playing funky disco grooves. Personally I'd rather watch a video of someone playing piano, then play the thing.

Claudio- what year and make is you rhodes? I've always wondered, it seems to have the top of a mark II or III made around 1980, but usually those have the model printed above the keys, which I don't see on yours, however I know when you got it you had work done on it, so I am not expert enough to determine on my own.

How do you figure out the chords of each section (piano, guitars, brass and strings)? Can you give me a suggestion on HOW to understand and study Music theory to be able to decode the chord progressions?

What's the old saying 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' something like that anyway. I think Kenny Everett had real love for the brothers gibb. So sad that Kenny, Maurice, Robin and Andy all died at quite young ages. Utmost respect to Barry, we laughed at kennys sketches but never felt malice in the mockery, all have left us with lifetime memories that make us smile, thanks for this re-construct Claudio. Took me back 40 years(ouch) 👍
My shit sounds really bad, much worse than the remake. Probably worth making a cover, redoing, remastering. Might not sound like shit. Everyone wants to play in the "major league". But very few people succeed. I just want to sound better in my own way. I want to record the song to the end, and feel that I wasted the time for a reason. Don't feel shitted a bunch of shit again with a strain and a strain. YO
I had nightmares trying to figure out how to play the rhodes, strings, and horns live on an 88 note keyboard using splits, velocity gates, etc. A cartoon version probably. Circa 1993-ish.
Why Mark II suitcase? Do you find it best for you of all models, the favourite one, or was this the best choice considering condition/price/availability?
And all this was done without Pro Tools. And with "real" musicians playing real instruments. Hard to believe isn't it.
Quite interesting what easy riffs can do if placed differently and slightly changed.
But further more, You have real good ears, never "heard" the song that way in much more details.

lol @ Entertainer That's the first song I ever "played" on a piano. It was on the radio a lot at the time because The Sting was in theaters at the time, yeah I'm old. But I was able the plink out the melody from ear, which is what got me started with piano lessons.
