Great story!
American police reallllllly don’t want to deal with paperwork on an international drivers license, most people get a verbal warning.
It's not that much. Just a check up if the driver really has the classes his or her drivers license claims. I would never leave Europe without an international drivers license.
I remember this story when it came out, then didn't hear anything after it. Now I am really curious as to what happened afterwards. Great that you got him on the channel!
It's a story on its own, he was aquitted of all charges thankfully
He appeared in court and admitted it was all a lie to get famous. He wasn't even driving the car. And the trip was made in 12 hours. He was acquitted on all charges. So according to himself, he is a liar and scammer.
@@StarfleetCommand71 clearly didn't look into it properly dude. His phone was tracked between the two points in under 10 hours and there was GPS data. You sound butt hurt were you one of the cops trying to jail him ha ha .
@@scooby19967Butthurt! Are you an idiot? I quoted what he said in the court. He represented himself. You can look up the court papers yourself.
@scooby19967 absolutely correct, there was quite a lot of evidence on the prosecutions side, but not quite enough to put him behind the wheel. The police were not happy about losing such a high profile case. It was a full on investigation and they even raided his house.
As a brit i’ve never heard of the geezer
up around yorkshire the geezer is the mr fix it.
Nope me either
No one has.
I have! I tracked him down after reading about his lejog run and invited him to the C2C
Thats kinda the point.
I visited Scotland this summer and I felt like pretty much every driver was on a rally across the country lol. I’m used to big ass highways in the south and those tight roads on the opposite side had me gripping tight at times
I live in scotland, those are normal roads they aint even the tight ones.
@@b34rdyregularly come north of the boarder and totally agree with you dude the A823 gets tight in places with wagons coming the other way
Good to see Tommy on here, super nice guy that nearly ended up in a lot of hot water for the Le Jog run. He also just ran a hell of a decent run coast to coast in the usa.
What's Le Jog?
@@RickTheSpud Lands End to John O'Groats, the one he talks about early
Said it before and I’ll say it again, this lad is a fantastic storyteller 👍
Thanks Buddy!
No problem mate!
@@tommydavies936is this you? I need to know more about the run across the U.K.???
@@RobBeveridgeCars no comment 😂
@@tommydavies936 🤣🤣🤣
We need more of this mate!!!! Great stories
Thanks man. Glad you liked it.
You guys are not regular here he's been on before 😅
Tells good stories too
Good to see you again Tommy and congratulations once more.
Cool story. The people you encountered coming in to JFK would have been CBP (Customs and Border Protection) not TSA. TSA (Transit Security Administration) are the people who do the security clearance going into the airport.
@9:53 Best sound clip ever! I rewound 3x!
Great story Tommy, love the whole saga of getting the Jag to the finish!
Interesting to see a brits take on our roads and diversity. 💯💯 Good vid
Don't tease me like that! Sounds like the next video started with the last sentence. That's when the fun came to an end... well, let's hear about all of that.
Well done!
Great story, well told!
Love to do a C2C run one day! Bucket list!
I thought he would get a Mini with the Union Jack on the roof.
It would only have worked if we had 3 minis😂
Why are the brits in the comments so harsh.😂
They don't like b.s. either.
It's a traditional that they are super harsh, as a brit ive had the same treatment
You’d be mad too if your were unfortunately British
Welcome to You Tube, the custom here is to complain about content you don't pay for and voluntarily subscribe to.
Sorry about your Cort woes.
When he’s done and safe in court in his country, you guys should do a follow up.
He is all good now, acquitted completely earlier this year
He appeared in court in 2020 and admitted it was all a lie to get famous. He wasn't even driving the car. And the trip was made in 12 hours. He was acquitted on all charges. So according to himself, he is a liar and scammer.
@@StarfleetCommand71 His cell was tracked between the two points in under 10 hours and there was GPS data. You sound butt hurt, were you one of the cops trying to jail him ha ha.
@@scooby19967 Butthurt for posting facts! Are you stupid! I posted what he said in court. Are you saying he lied in court?
A British car breaking down?!?!? No way right? Lol
Oh c’mon Tommy, joviality of a not exclusive to the British. I’m glad this story was preserved here for posterity.
“I keep my hands on the steering wheel cuz i dont wanna get shot.”
What a legacy the US police system has😐
It seems myself and most other Brits here don't have a clue who this guy is.
He never really chased any publicity, but he's done some epic car stuff. He was all over the news for the le jog stuff
hes a certified knob
Respect on the Casio
The only European Street Racer worthy of our acclaim, due to his skill, bravery and notoriety is of course, The Real Ghost Rider... his epic rides, at 299 kph and above through traffic, making fools of the police are the videos of legend. I love watching his rides, as the speedo on his GSXR-1000 pinned at it's maximum of 299 kph as he weaves across multiple lanes of traffic, passes a police vehicle, and slows down and stays just far enough in front to keep the chase fun, then he loses them in seconds when he cranks up the throttle and exits the freeway.
I hope they catch him. I have no problem with speeding as long as it's on a wide open road. You don't weave through traffic at 180MPH. It's dangerous and disrespectful. This is why no one likes bikers.
The thing is he wasn't technically a street racer, he just outran the cops.
I’m getting couples retreat guitar hero battle vibes from this guy😂😂
Now that is good ha ha
This guy sounds like a good future Mad Lads video from Count Dankula!
ONG fr tho!
Great story!
Is he wearing that fake watch that has no face? I've seen that on IG. This was a great story. His 'crimes' over in the UK were the stuff of legend. There were people that thoug😂ht he was some secret drag racer that came up a few times in LA, Dallas, Detroit, and Atlanta. Of course people thought he was much older too
Just in case anybody reading this comment ends up with a similar suspension issue with their car. You can buy spring spacers at any parts store or less than 20 bucks and avoid that problem you was having, I'm not sure if you could spare the time to stop at a parts store but it might have ended up working out for him not having to slam on the brakes every time...
That would have been great to know at the time.
@@tommydavies936 I always find out about things like that after the fact when it would have saved me significant time and effort and money, but more frustrating is when I forget that I know how to solve a problem like that and go through it a second time!
Good luck with your legal issues across the pond, I'm no stranger to our equivalen[😞
Basic jaguar stuff😂😂
Yea like how could you not come to America and race, charges be damned... Great story. Thanks for sharing. We can't wait to hear the rest of the story.....
Love this Channel and all the guests you have dream of mine to be in that chair one day
Wow! What a story! And yes, British car electrics are rubbish.
The old Jag looked beautiful, but that’s a piece of crap from a technical standpoint. I wonder how many right hand cars participated in that drive?
On the c2c it was the only one in 5 events, it ran really well. The xj6 had great handling and brakes for the time. The engines were a bit long in the tooth by the 70s
@@kingcountrytowing don’t get me wrong, I loved that car. It looked great and it drove ok, but it was super unreliable. I had my share of Jags and Land Rovers.
If that was the only right hand driven car then no wonder it got an award. On the other hand, it deserved it just because it made it all the way to LA in style.
@benz500r Jaguars are a masochistic thing, I've loved all of mine too, but they have some err, quirks lol. There has been a few Rhd cars that run over the years, from a kei truck to a Rolls! The rolls made it without incident too!
@@kingcountrytowing I agree with your statement 100%.
Everyone it's officially settled. A British person just said their steer wheels are on the "wrong" side of the car. @6:43. Its only a matter of time before manufacturers just wont build cars with wrong steering wheels. Then what are you going to do?
Tommy is a awesome dude and friend!
🤣🤣🤣maybe that's because he's your friend but in england he's no one
@@callumpreston3013 who cares and what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
As A brit I agree with the Gentleman's One up, Also it's the ultimate TWOC point to point.
Here in the states they take your license not your car in most cases. We all know you "can't drive" without a "license." We didn't exactly "lose" our license by following the "law."
Monkeylondon is more infamous I'd like to think
Never heard of him
I swear 80% of the comments don't even look like they're real comments. It's crazy that people think like that
Probably paid for generated comments to boost the algorithm.
So infamous nobody’s heard of him
Which is the point. Oh and he got invited to the c2c so somebody heard of him right?
Can tell you now not one person in Britain has heard of this guy🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm in the US and heard about this when it happened. Do you live under a rock?
Agreed.
@@Suhspenccethe US isnt Britain is it 😂 never heard of this whopper either.
It was big news worldwide, the trial was big news in the uk too😊
If only there were closed off lengths of tarmac, with no speed restrictions and where everyone travels in the same direction, that people could pay to use for the day and drive as fast as they pleased. The tarmac could be in a loop so you don't have to stop at the end, and you can drive as many loops as you can. Someone needs to build this ASAP. They could call it a 'Motor Loop'.
For anyone who has not done the math... Here is how fast your car gobbles up realestate at 180mph -
1 mile every 20 seconds. - 5280ft -
1/4 mile - 1320 ft - 5 sec.
1/8 mile - 660 ft - 2.5 sec
264 feet - 1 second.
130 feet - 0.5 seconds
65 feet - 1/4 of a second -
1/5 - 1/4 of second is about the reaction time of professional race car drivers -
Obviously not all that wanted as Interpol wouldn't allow someone out, or maybe they will pick the idiot up on the way back through.
80mph, not 180
morning
Never heard of her, who is she?
Posts about speeding online, then wonders why he got summoned 😂. Then misses every obvious thing to check when doing an event. "Proper" car guy 🤦😂.
I guess all guys cant be as awesome as the great Tom Wassell. its 40 year old car. Driving across the US. I think they did awesome. What's your time across?
@@scooby19967 anyone with an ounce of common sense would check their coolant system, electricals, suspension, gearbox, diff, etc etc before shipping the car halfway across the world for an event 😂. Specially if they're claiming to be an infamous street racer. Not driving across the US doesn't have any bearing on that argument.
As a brit..... who??
Who 😂🤷♂️
Been racing for over 20 years and never heard of him
Another cannonballer. Putting people's lives at risk all for their own egos 😠
Zero incidents in over 100 years, name me any event that can say that?
@@kingcountrytowing There have been many incidents and most famously that german couple killed by gumball. And it only takes one person changing lanes while somebody else comes up. One tire blow out. Plenty of people have wrecked without taking out somebody else.
"Sure they killed that family driving lawfully. But up to that point nobody has been killed!"
1994: Ferrari F40 in Australia
Cannonball is full of accidents involving the public. And unlike sanctions motorsports, they didnt choose to be there.
Cannonball is just rich hooliganism. No different than any other street racer, highway takeover or intersection showboater.
Zero incidents, what a crock of delusional BS
How did he put people at risk? Cannonballers have a huge respect for safety and don't drive fast if the situation doesn't allow for it.
@@bwofficial1776 Is it a public road?
Yes.
Are there ever other vehicles in either direction passed?
Yes.
Are they travelling at significant speeds over the speed limit?
Yes.
Have cannonballers had accidents and killed other people in the past?
Yes.
Does the situation ever allow it to be done with no risk to publick without it being in a closed environment?
No.
@@bwofficial1776 And that is the problem.
"They are being as safe as they can"
And still putting other people's lives at risk. So as I asked the other person. When inevitably one of them or a copycat kills somebody. Are you going to tell their families not to be upset because 'They were doing it as safe as they could'
It isnt a matter of if, but when. And not a matter of just when, but when AGAIN
He forgot to tell us that he admitted in court that it was all a lie to get famous. He wasn't even driving the car. And the trip was made in 12 hours. Not 9 hours and 36 minutes. He was acquitted on all charges. So according to himself, he is a liar and scammer.
Dude you've posted this like 3 times! You clearly didn't look into it properly dude. His phone was tracked between the two points in under 10 hours and there was GPS data. You sound butt hurt were you one of the cops trying to jail him.🤣
@@scooby19967 And you have posted this 4 times. I don’t care if his phone was tracked. I am referring to what he said in court.
@@StarfleetCommand71 I would have said the same in court too. You expect him to confess! If you don't care about the cell evidence and GPS then you clearly aint wanting to believe it. Haters gonna hate.
@@scooby19967 So he lied in court? Sounds like a trustworthy person.
Jesus guys feel like I'm back in the court reading this. Getting flashbacks 😂
British cars are like British comedy.... lame
I said it before and I'll say it again... You've done a great job with this channel and these stories are extremely interesting.
If you're too rubbish at driving to be an actual racing driver then stick to track days and keep it off the street
This channel needs more quality and less quantity. This is not quality.
Another exaggerated story from a clout chasing nobody, bummer. 🤦
Nothing at all was exaggerated, because I was the c2c organizer, and I was also the guy that tracked him down after reading about le jog.
Hotel McCoy?!?! Were you trying to stay in one of the shadiest dumps in Tucson??
“If I get charged after I get in, they’ll have to find me.” Dude wasn’t even through TSA and he’s already got American thoughts running through his brain. It’s like a virus I swear. I love America.
Aye brv, Yank peelers don't like dealing with international paperwork at all.
I think there should be incredibly severe penalties for entering another country with the specific intent to engage in crimes.
