"We Close Our Eyes" showcases Danny's amazing range. No one ever mentions him when they're talking about great rock singers, but I think he had one of the best voices out there. And such talent! Losing his contributions to the music world still hurts.

Very true. However, I, myself am an 80’s girl through & through & my babes were raised on this music😝😝 I will never stop listening to it! They are now 20&21 & when they were younger, I used to drag them to concerts of all the 80’s bands…. lol. Here’s a funny story… when my son got old enough to go to shows on his own (12 or 13) he said to me “how come when I go to shows with you, we always get to hang out with the bands…. We always get into the backstage or we go out with the bands & they all come back to our home?”😝😝🤷♀️ I was a bit confused so I asked him to elaborate. He said he tried to hang out with the bands he went to see & he was denied. I said idk, I’ve been friends with all these 80’s bands for years🤷♀️ Apparently he thought it was totally normal to go hangout with the bands after the shows & go eat or have everyone come back to our place😝😝🤷♀️🤦♀️ bc he was raised with various bands coming to our home to do their laundry & playing video games, eating , drinking or whatever when the shows ended….. I reminded him that no in fact that is not exactly “normal” 😝😝 . So then of course he asked if I can get him back stage to meet the artists he goes & sees (usually rappers) I said no… I have zero connections to the rap world 🤣🤣🤷♀️

At least until Only a Lad came out in '81, and then Nothing to Fear in '82, then Good for Your Soul, then So-Lo, etc., etc., putting each of those on cassette too and only using the LPs to make recordings to cassette. I still have all my LPs too. I've listened to OB's songs literally several thousands of times over. One never gets old of them. It's impossible to. I just wish they'd get back together again.

Fato curioso no video acima, é que OB fez playback normal na primeira musica, porém, na seguinte foi uma espécie de karaokê: playback no som dos instrumentos mas com o vocal ao vivaço de Danny Elfman .
I started listening to oingo boingo because Danny elfman showed up in a dream i had where he chased me, ripped up my mail into tiny pieces that flew through a screen door into my throat while he screamed Oingo Boingo at me. Upon awaking from that crazy dream I immediately looked up Oingo Boingo and have been hooked ever since. Im sure my subconscious knew about Oingo Boingo, but dang, that was the most intense way i got into a band.
I only found out about this song recently because of an Instagram post. I think this is the only song by this band that I like from what I can tell, but I can't get it out of my head
I love this song and the next one. Was privileged to see them perform at a free concert in the campus of UCLA and 81 or two. English beat was there too
Saw them fist time @ SDSU Aztec Bowl 1983 Labor Day aweekend with Madness & The Police... Best concert ever.. Oingo opened first. First time seeing The Police never knew it would be their last tour together. Synchronicity
I'm riding a Danny Elfman/Oingo retrospective because I never saw a majority of these videos back then and I'm finding out about Danny Elfman's rather large solo library that I just never clued into. It's like getting to build a whole new fandom to add to that awkward teenager's and I'm loving every bit of it.

Dany y el chatito son bravos 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
2020 and still loving this!
¿this comment in "Oingo Boingo - "We Close Our Eyes" & "Not My Slave" (1987) - MDA Telethon"? ¿It's a UA-cam bug?
@@TastyAvenger what do you mean?
And the backup harmony NEVER disappoints! Kudos, lads, all!
São tão bons que a gente não sabe se é ao vivo ou estúdio!
Danny at this time looks like Sebastian Vettel twenty years ahead.
Anyway i love this song.
Thanks for sharing.
"We close our eyes and dreams with another best world without WAR....."
Can you hear me my friends?
It's coming a New Year 2024🎉🎉🎉
Who's listening today 30/12/23?
Omg! My two favorite songs. Ugh, Danny Elfman's voice! Melting!🤪💓
May this song live as I do
Boingo🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Eu sou carioca, hoje moro no ES,eu frequentei a Playhouse
I started listening to oingo boingo because Danny elfman showed up in a dream i had where he chased me, ripped up my mail into tiny pieces that flew through a screen door into my throat while he screamed Oingo Boingo at me.
Upon awaking from that crazy dream I immediately looked up Oingo Boingo and have been hooked ever since. Im sure my subconscious knew about Oingo Boingo, but dang, that was the most intense way i got into a band.
I've dreamed about Danny a few times but nothing as crazy as yours
I only found out about this song recently because of an Instagram post. I think this is the only song by this band that I like from what I can tell, but I can't get it out of my head
I love this song and the next one. Was privileged to see them perform at a free concert in the campus of UCLA and 81 or two. English beat was there too
This band it's so great !❤
Moody Blues “wildest dreams” (1996) sounds quite similar.
And another year has come and gone
I love how the mics aren't even plugged in!
I love his voice 😍
Amazing lyric and melody😊
Great flash back when I was in grade school. My ancient friends/relatives like them too
Saw them fist time @ SDSU Aztec Bowl 1983 Labor Day aweekend with Madness & The Police... Best concert ever.. Oingo opened first. First time seeing The Police never knew it would be their last tour together. Synchronicity
Great vocal range!
Que saudade dos anos 80....
Oingo Boingo é magnífico.....
Junho/2020

He's having so much fun.. it's adorable.
He’a Musical Genius!
Na quarentena ouvindo essas duas no Brazil - abril2020

Cuando el new Wave era la mejor generación en los ochenta 🎉🎉🎉
I'd love to see their music played at today's dance bars and watch the new generation rock out!
I love you ❤️
