I can say myself that this worked using the last option, I had to restart again after getting the same start up error screen but chose to restart and it worked. Cheers for providing this support video, for those still stuck I'd recommend this option before seeking professional help.
Cheers again Brian. Been trying for a day an a half and like Ashish Agarwal says, it was iobit driver booster that caused my problems. My C drive SSD wasn’t even being recognized. Finally tried the safe mode and deleted that iobit and voila. The relief is like scoring a hat trick for Man Utd.
The problem is NOT YOUR COMPUTER. The problem is MICROSOFT and their WINDOWS UPDATE, and not HAVING TESTED ALL THEIR UPDATE SOFTWARE - CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I had a customer who had a NEW DELL LAPTOP. She let Windows 10 do an update and went to BED. When she woke up the next morning, and turned on the computer. It ended up saying "NO BOOT DEVICE FOUND". I called DELL, and he had me go into the BIOS, which the only thing there was the SEAGATE HARD DRIVE, and not WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER. So, the Dell tech had me type in WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER, then click the ADD DEVICE BUTTON, and go find the BOOT FILE, save it, and reboot. THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM. That is to say that MICROSOFT IS FLASHING THE BIOS!!! TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, to MAKE Microsoft FIX their FAULTY UPDATE SOFTWARE!!!
My computer crashed due to there Microsoft Insider program. I went to Best Buy tech service to pay around $300 to pay to get my computer fixed. For an about a few weeks. I can see what updates are available and I can download them when I want to. Plus when I want to restart the computer I do not have to wait until Windows Update to finish what it is doing.
I made a registry change to allow use of HIPM and DIPM, which led to the 'boot drive inaccessible' error on Windows 10. Follow this guide to rename and copy the backup registry and it worked!!! Just wanted to say thanks, a reinstall of Windows was my next step, so this was a welcome surprise.

Now you say computer, if that means hardware then i allways install only the minimal, then drink lots of tea and LOL :-D Memory is a shit for causing odd problems. If its the o.s your talking about, and its windows, there is a hell of a lot going on that you dont see, drivers are a good cause of all sorts of problems, and the registry is full of seemingly cryptical crap, so if thats screwed i shotgun it with an earlier copy. Fixes most silly problems. As i said, im no tech, but people shove there computer under my nose expecting me to fix it, and i do, but in a crude way in comparison to the way you would do it brian.
mine has a box saying enter password. I do then it asks for master password. I put that in and it starts to boot up then goes right back to asking for password. Help
David Salinas I fixed mine for now I did a custom install off a disk and did another windows files my old windows folder in it and my personal data was in there but my drive is full if u do this might ask for a key or delete your data
Joey A guess i could try that. I just figured out it was my hard drive cuz this is like the 5th time it did this for literally like no reason. a simple shutdown and turn on and it say inaccessible. I might just have to recover the files and maybe get a new hard drive but I should probably the your method first. I honestly couldn't figure out how to fix this thing and all my friend has done was reset it and reset and it's still doing this.
Omg! Thanks! After a lot of prompt commands, restoring point, i found that it was my BIOS setup, because i was changing IDE of the storage to AHCI, (because i heard about AHCI give better performance) so it wasn't able to find the boot, so i came back to IDE and everything works, so if you're reading this comment my disparate guy just change it again or if you have more troubles remove the battery of the bios, so anything was settled wrong would disappear and the bios would starts with default values, but remember to correct the clock and date.

I tried taking power cord out (did 10 times) went to blue screen. I also tried restoring it, no luck. Then I did the command prompt, no luck. Then did fix pc for problems, no luck. Now I am resetting it
I have no idea what is causing it to not load. I was wanted to restart pc & the screen of loading came, nothing loaded for 3 hours.
Mohit4GHGaming sometimes you just gotta take it to a tech
Wow, many thanks to you. Restored my system only from your last method. Tried to restore whole day along before your video. Thank you.
How do you go to settings at 1:27
Bios > boot
Hold down "delete " key on start up.
Switching from ide to sata fixed my problem. Thank you
Not woarking my 0 files in regback i will try to boot windows from usb
THANKS VERY MUCH Britec09, you are the MAIN MAN!!! I first encountered the problem by swapping my old 128GB M2 System drive with a new cloned 1TB M2 drive. Then started getting the "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE". What fixed it for me was the Safe Mode, and I only had to run was option 8: Open Command Prompt ......... and run SFC /SCANNOW. And I am back in business. Salutations Sir Britec09 :-)
What if data of these folders (default system software sam security) shows "0" is there any solution for it?
Kamil Kruczkowski +1
Thank you very much, it was the Intel rapid storage option for me, it was enabled, once reverted back to AHCI it worked
Thank you!
Recently my laptop started problems, kept saying, automatic repair then diagnosing then blue screen with an option of restart and advanced. I tried most things from advanced option but nothing worked. for days it was a wild goose chase, I even tried methods from other videos but it didn't work so I thought last option is to take it to a computer shop or I may have to do factory reset and lose photos, music etc.
But then I came across this video and tried the command prompt one and now my laptop works again. Thank you very much.
hi.. i am having this issue and it wont let me in the automatic repair options. it just keep restarting. btw i dont have the cd or flash usb.. lost it.. is there any other way to fix? please advice.
Try Use the “Shift + Restart” combination. Another way of getting into Safe Mode after Start + Run+ CMD then do same as Vid Says
Zalim Ji restart? may i know which button?

@Lily
When you turn your PC on hold down the "ctrl" key bottom left on your key board and keep pressing "F-10" it will by pass the blue screen
Changing the SATA mode helped my issue! Can't believe it haha. Thank you. Freaking windows updates.
Thank you very much, it worked, i dont speak very good English, i follow you step by step and it worked. Thanks.
Thanks for the guide I managed to see my problem. I wanted to use my SSD boot drive from a previous computer. My new Dell XPS 8950 had it Set on RAID by default and I changed it AHCI and it started to work perfectly
My regback is empty
Music Stars Did you figure out a solution?
Music Stars same
Booting into Safe Mode resolved my issue, PC now booting up properly, Many thanks!!
I did the regback stuff. But now my pc just goes into automatic recovery every time. Not sure what to do know
Captain Bacon Did you find fix?
UnReal FlipZy Nope, did a fresh start keeping my personal files
Hi i got a problem like this too. But for me i can't even start with step 1 cuz my screen stays on the alert where it says preparing automatic repair some one help me please?
first try to locate where the windows is. is in drive F/C/D/the drive name you gave initially when you are installing windows or you can check that by typing in the command prompt From Boot Options start Command Prompt.
Enter the following and press Enter:
1.bcdedit
2.Find device partition and osdevice partition values and make sure that they are set to correct partition. On our device, the default and correct value are C: but this can change for some reason to D: (or some other letter) and create problems.
3.bcdedit /set {default} device partition=c:
4.bcdedit /set {default} osdevice partition=c:
5. By default it should be C: but if your Windows 10 is installed on a different partition, make sure that you use that partition’s letter instead of C. on mine is F. So you i start with the letter
X:\sources>C:
C:\>dir
C:\>F: // change it to F or some other letter you get where the windows is stored
or you get the error cd \windows\system32\config it says system could not find the path specified.
then follow the steps in this video
Mate you just saved me from losing lots of data with the regback method. Thank you!
I have 0 empty data on regback what can i do next? help please

Damn, great video but unfortunately I have 0's nxt to the backup files. So, it seems I watched the whole video for nota.
Thanks alot. You are a life saver. I felt like a programmer fixing the issue. Thanks for the experience : )
Thank You for downloading this video however when I did it I had to use the c: prompt D prompt wouldn't work. it took a long time but I was able to reboot my laptop and fix it on my own I would recommend this video to everyone.
Tried to upgrade a CPU and fluffed it up, after 3 hours of trying I gave up and tried to put back the old CPU and got the "inaccessible boot device" id already gotten into automatic repair, but had no clue where to start and this video made it so easy to fix.
Thanks brian :-D
Did you corrupt the hardware section of the registry to create this problem, you naughty boy he he :-D
zx8401ztv lol
Can't tell you all my secrets. I used to train people and mess up a computer to see if they can fix it, most failed lol
Now you say computer, if that means hardware then i allways install only the minimal, then drink lots of tea and LOL :-D
Memory is a shit for causing odd problems.
As i said, im no tech, but people shove there computer under my nose expecting me to fix it, and i do, but in a crude way in comparison to the way you would do it brian.
corrupt registry and drivers cause a lot of BSOD.
mine has a box saying enter password. I do then it asks for master password. I put that in and it starts to boot up then goes right back to asking for password. Help
I like the way you explained it, thank you! Unfortunately, I didn't have anything in the regback area and all other options didn't work for me either.
it wont let me really do anything not even reset or remove anything can you help ?
Well I hope u get it fix
Omg!
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE RECENTLY?!?
John Johnson The new windows update fucked it up
Void Blitz Thank you for the reply and the information left a sub :)
Brilliant! The regback step worked for me. I'd spent hours and tried everything else until I found your video. I never knew the regback dir existed. Thank you so much. Panic over :)

I don’t really know what happened exactly because I wasn’t able to open the Bios setting but I went to safe mode and then shut it down. Open it again and then it came back.

My brother thank you so much. You saved my computer. I was formatting, but I watched the video
Thanks a lot for this video. Changing IDE to AHCI was the solution I needed.
I panicked for hours before I found your video and the last method worked! Thank you so much!
Thanks for putting this video up, I did Follow all of your steps, but unfortunatly Windows 10 is being a right royal pain in the arrrrse and does not work!
Thanks again. Roy
Thank you so much!! I almost had a heart attack trying to get my laptop to work again. I was so scared
Thank you very much for the video! I recently attempted to remove Linux from dualboot, found out tons of boot stuff was left behind from multiple Manjaro reinstallations and recently Garuda Linux and in removing them it wouldn't boot after a restart. After many searches on my phone and attempted fixes with CMD commands I realized because of this video my default boot device was not Windows Bootloader lol 🙃
thanks! went into safe mode and found the corrupt files. subscribed!
OOOOOOMMMMGGGGGGGGG! TRIED SO MANY TUTORIALS BUT THIS ONE MADE MY PC WORK SUPERBBBB!! MUCH THANKS BRAAAAH!!! SO MUCH THANKSSS!
@Britec09
I have an Alienware M17xR4 with CPU: Intel i7-3610QM (2.3Ghz - 3.3Ghz).
When I disable Turbo Boost from B.I.O.S. then works but slowly.
When I enable Turbo Boost Mode from B.I.O.S. then the computer when try to load Windows 10 after about 11-12 seconds.
Is the problem in C.P.U. or in Motherboard or somewhere else?
Using C prompt to go into Windows and use regback did it. Thank you for posting this!!!
THANK YOU !!! the last method helped me. I thought I will never see my windows again.
Great, Thanks. It solve my problem using regback methods, after struggling all night without success. Thumbs up.
thank u so much.... very much thanks to you.... after doing regback... it opened.... u saved my day.... Million thanks once again.
Amazing tutorial! Keep the good job up, friend!👏
Check the date and time settings in the bios. The sata drive was defaulting to raid instead of ahci. Installing a new cmos battery fixed the issue for me.
Yeah that's another fix for some people, the trouble is, no problem is the same for everyone, hard to cover all fix's.
Thank you so much ❤️ Sata mode change worked!
