you know flipper is still gaining new fans. im one of them. I love the simple lyrics and repetitive mantra like verses and their humanistic feel. It's almost kind of rational and wise in its own way. It's not totally cynical, it's kind of accepting and gives you an uplifting feeling.
@@edgaracosta-q5m they're poetic but very direct and to the point is what i mean. for example beginning of "life is cheap" is "Feel so numb feel so dead Just felt like someone hit my head". i love their lyrics for this reason. it's kinda funny in how direct and simple it is. I think it's good writing
Krist really was like the PERFECT fit for Flipper. He even convinced them to make a new album....... atleast he was a big part of getting them to from what I've heard. And then he left! :( Oh well, good while it lasted! :)
Thank you so much for posting !!!! Krist is great, but I really miss Will Shatter. RIP brother, bring the suffering to Heaven !! How are those kids just sitting in their chairs, bopping in place??? Where are the stage dives, slam dancing, the CHAOS ???? Man, I miss the old days.
This is so fantastic, in 1981 when I first picked up my bass guitar, this was one of the songs I first learned and played over and over on my bass as an exercise until my fingers would blister.
So happy to see this. I wish he'd have sung it without over doing it so the younger kids could've discerned what he was saying. The deadpan way it was originally done added to the feeling of the song.
I was there that day when they performed...just hanging out on Haight st. And I noticed they were setting up the stage so I hung around...this was so cool
Great song! Tells the story of the world. It's not always that way, but many times it is. Don't leave kisses undelivered and sighs and moans unuttered.
+Do It Now! vidoe's yeah! Long time ago. I met Bruce in the haze of 1984. I learned how to tune my amp to a room by watching Bruce do it at the Pyramid club in NYC. He was careful to get it just right. Walking the room, making adjustments. But I never saw Flipper live. Bruce was in NYC doing something called 'Altered States of America'. 'ASOA' was tagged everywhere in NY. There was an apartment on East 2nd street where Bruce and other tweakers, junkies, artists, musicians and weirdos hung out. I was there for a short time in 1984 while Bruce was there. I remember Bruce trying to grow herb using cat shit for fertilizer. Lots of strange goings on. It wasn't a scene for the average Joe or Josephine.
After the set I ran into Metallica's Robert Trujillo. He was shopping for Electric Light Orchestra CD's and didn't seem at all concerned about the noise emanating from the stage. I asked "what did you think (of Flipper)?" He said "They were great!" but you could tell he was lying.
what if they had this giant fucking punk rock sing along that had nirvana , flipper , & the melvins playing in it at once, that would have ben the best fucking shit in 20 years
I saw them open for GWAR at the Ritz in Tampa/Ybor City back in 1991 or 92. They played one song and the singer threw a beer bottle at a fan and fell down drunk. Security escorted him off stage. Not a fan since then.
Get pissy drunk and go to a flipper show back when feed back was another instrument they would losely play , once the acid kicks in it becomes an enlightening experience , good times.
@HoSKRevival Dude, you can hardly credit flipper for the existence of avril lavign. The Melvins maybe, but I don't see how this translated into punk pop, seeing as how the the ramones predate this and are a much more obvious influence on the bands you mentioned.

I really love Flipper. One of the most underrated punk band.

This is so fantastic, in 1981 when I first picked up my bass guitar, this was one of the songs I first learned and played over and over on my bass as an exercise until my fingers would blister.
Bruce Loose is awesome. Great and underrated band!
I was there and didn't give a fuck about the bass player. The guitar stylings of Ted Falconi RULE.
So punk rock to hate on something popular
Tocando com o Flipper , o Krist esta realizando um sonho de adolescência !!!
great to see krist on the bass again XD
goddamn krist I love your bass tone
This is a great song to play on bass, as are most of Flipper's songs.
I saw Flipper perform on the 7th of July, and this song was absolutely outstanding. They even announced themselves as the only REAL Acid Punk band.

Aw, man! That's the Amoeba in SF I go to all the time! Why wasn't I there?
One of the better Flipper vids! There needs to be more variety on here than "Way of The World" , but great nonetheless.
Wow, this is amazing!
olha o Krist Novoselic!!!!!
Krist shouldn't have left. Although I haven't heard them with their new bass player, I think he did fit the band like a glove (smeared in bleach, heh)

Lars Ulrich was 15 when Flipper formed in 1979, your point?
I've never heard this song in my life. I've been a Nirvana fan since 1993
AMOEBA is BEST!

SF is dope.
These guys saw Metallica play, then were like, "let's try to be like Metallica". That's how Flipper formed.
What kind of bass is Krist using?
Yamaha flying banana
I love flipper. They're kinda perfectly awful
So right. I was at that show in the record store. Had to leave.

In case anyone was keeping score, Krist Novolselic is the cool one from Nirvana.
Is that a record store or live venue?

That's what Krist said too. Maybe I need to do that too, but I don't know... I really hated my first experience with them.
@joeybakerboardking but i just want to know why the hell they you have chairs in a concert hall? That just sucks all the fun
My favorite band from this period after Agent Orange....east coast, ya know?
Damn right!
Krist seems drained here

What is this place? A church?
True. Protestants actually put a lot of energy and life-wish on music in their cults. Diferent from Catholics.
KRIST NOVOSELIC !!!!!! :)
Flipper = GOOD
No, awesome
Wait was krist in Flipper?
wow
When you look into Krist's eyes, you see the soul of a dead man..
