Flipper nuttiest band ever. I saw them one night. The bass player decided to take a beer break... gave his bass to someone in the audience who proceeded to fill in for him. Friggin' hilarious.
Flipper has been in my top 10 band list for 40 years. First saw them in 1980, opening up for P.I.L. in San Francisco. Saw them around 1984 or 85 in Cleveland Ohio - they began playing in front of almost 100 people, then within 20-25 minutes, it was down to less than 35 people. At one point, all 4 band members had a lit joint sticking out of their mouths that we were all smoking while playing - my friend sat on the stage the whole time and rolled joints and gave them to the band. The 15 people left in the club after the show, including the band - all went to party where they were staying. It was nuts. They were really nice - no pretentiousness whatsoever (I've been going to shows for 45 years - I've met some really a**holes).
My brother loved this tune so I automatically did and this sound, this song drove me too and through some very intense moments in life! Saw the Melvins cover this song and it's a great song!!! WARNING- Don't love this song too much it may cause some ANGER & emotions TO BECOME LARGER THAN THEY APPEAR or feel!
Flipper rule! thanks for sharing the video. These guys were easily as much an influence on Nirvana as sonic youth or the wipers. Generic Flipper still blows me away.
Oh yeah, saw them in 85 and the last post was the shirt I had. Still my favorite band of all time. It was part of my life to hear these songs and still to this fucking day. You can not understand if you where not there back then, but I don't care if you can't relate. If this band gets you off, listen. If not, don't post stupid shit and turn to some other bullshit that will get you off. Don't fuck with Flipper!
I was listening to this song twice together (the first one from 1 minute, the second one from the beginning) and it was definitely great! Kind of psychedelic hardcore punk!
I love how FLIPPER spray painted on their tour van the Texas punk band "Millions of Dead Cops" on their van and they were pulled over in every city they played in. FLIPPER Rules! Punk as Fuckkk!!
Why would anyone post a comment on this video that isn't about how fucking amazingly vitriolic this song is, and how Bruce Loose is a frontman n a half.
Got turned on to Flipper around 1995. They were a pop band that never turned their amps down or tuned their guitars. That's what made them so much better than charting pop bands. Awesome.
I wi wonder if they knew how fuckin good they were.? Amazing to watch em do it live I imagined big chunky pedals n all kinda weird machines That wall of drone is just flipper I guess Gotta love it
I saw them at the Espy recently in Melbourne and they were ffing awesome. Loud, tight, angry, grinding and totally non compromising. Sexy too in a weird way. Maybe it was the bassist. This song was huge. Maybe it was not jammed packed because bands like this do not resonate well. Maybe the crowd is all heading down the the sorrowfull poor me strumming like Leonard Cohen, Smog who I do like but a bit of energy is always good. Not much anger around with the kiddies these days and i am 40.
Thanks brother. Explore as much as possible, but only if you really enjoy it! Go to local concerts, even if you don't know the music of the bands playing. Read blogs and zines, there are thousands. Buy records every time you have the money, buy a record you have never heard, perhaps a record that just looks interesting. Ask people what they are listening to. It's probably not as easy to do any of those things in Albania, no offense, but with the internet, even someone living in a gulag can...

That's gotta be the most punk thing ever
That's radical. Bass be like that though.
“Beer break” sure

Early 80's punk was the best ... so real. so cool, so timeless.

Wow they OPENED for PiL and then they had that issue with them later on with the “generic” concept ! Interesting 🤔
@@SK-le1gm i never heard of the issue with PIL and the "generic" thing. Thanks for that - ill look that up
i loved them that long too, never had a chance to see them.
Awesome! "Theme" on "First Issue" is an early bit of sludge that makes this billing more appropriate.
Flipper at the peak of their powers !!
"They were just heavy. Heavier than you. Heavier than anything...When they played they were amazing"

I love how it was delivered so nonchalantly, but with such profound and dark lyrics.
Woke up with this in my head yesterday. Fucking great band.
Goddamn Flipper kicks serious ass.
Thats right
Perfect review

Yeah, its just dripping with anger.
This is the most pure music I've ever heard.......Can you hear the war cry?
One of the GREATEST bands ever.
Goddamn it, this is AWESOME. PURE, 100%, PUNK ROCK AT IT'S BEST.
Bruce Loose looks exceptionally amazing in these clips.
Flipper are one of those greatest of old memories that is always a smile on my face and just love it, when I get to hear them again.
Right up there with Stooges, Birthday Party, & VU
Nuthin like Flipper, nuthin.
Dope rock + shred punk
I wish that bass tone were a sleeping bag I could roll up in for a hundred hours.
This band was a pioneer in dirge music and set new presidence in punk. They were everything they sound like, tough, crazy, drug addicted and cynical.
Well put
And really nice guys.

Flipper hit me in the face in '84. In olywa. And then grunge fell out of our butts.

I was sacrificed. And lived. This song is prophecy.

Saw them do the same song in San Fran. 1984? A tiny dump south of Mission.

This right here. Yes
I want to see this at every local patio bar.

yes this is, he was in this band before nirvana. and they reunited in 05
Bow to mighty Flipper.
Classic Flipper
I was one of like 12 people that saw them in New Orleans in 83? 84? at Tulane University.
all ways praise the flipper gods that rule the wheels of the street....
love this band. i always wondered what the hell the guitarplayer was doing.
classic rock.

This song is so awesome! Originally heard the Melvins version on Lysol? Thought it was theirs for awhile. I like the VERY slow version best
Great Band, great music!
Nice work, Bruce.
Merci pour le partage.
the melvins cover on lysol is bad ass
The Mighty Flipper!
Love love love this.

Bruce Loose is a cool guy, gave me good advice on pet maintenance.😼✌️

FLIPPER- THE BEST
Flipper was more punk than any hardcore band godhead like Grosso said
I agree...at least when stuff like this gets added.

@crustyshirt kurt played with melvins while they practiced and hung out in their practice space. that is where he met the bassist of nirvana

Bruce Loose was the best vocalist for Flipper. Just raw punk.

These guys remind me of the Germs but at a snail's pace
Good comparison.i think the germs were a little catchier in some of their songs but I can see it.
Wasn't Flipper's guitarist also the guitarist/songwriter for The Germs?
No...
Not even close sorry

well, the interview was probably of the "new" flipper, as nirvana was around just after the original lineup broke up because will shatter overdosed.
