The Yukon is bottom tier. The metal is thin and the casters screw into riv-nuts. Load this down with mechanic's tools and move it around on a regular basis and it will not hold up. This is a 'homeowner' type box at best...good for light-duty use. The double bank US General is a 'pro-sumer' grade box...much sturdier. The US General is for serious hobbyists, hardcore DIYers and techs just getting started in the biz. The Icon boxes are legit pro-grade.
Actually thinking of buying one of these to use as a kitchen island, cover it with some thin wood laminate.
Sears tool chests had a crucial design made in the drawers that when you closed them, you can hear them click in the locked position. They called it griplatch. In my mind, it is the best design ever made on a tool chest. But Sears no longer makes them with this feature and I just can't understand why no other tool chest manufacturer has created their own version of the griplatch. What they have now are drawers that close by friction or a soft spring loaded mechanism. I hate both of them. It's like buying a car with drum brakes. Disc brakes being the griplach and if I can't find a tool chest with a griplatch system, I'm not buying it.
200% better than husky
Ah no. A shopping cart has the swivel wheels on the opposite side of handle bar. And that's how you want all carts. Like your car too.
I have the blue Yukon and have had it for 2 years. No issues. This is perfect for the home and most of us that do not have an unlimited budget. I bought the smaller 5 drawer us general cart to go along my Yukon. The blue color matches. I have my Yukon loaded and it rolls around very easily. The drawers open and close very easy. I highly recommend this Yukon tool cart.😃👍🏻
So I have had my Yukon since 2020, still going strong, garage kept, never had issue so far
I bought mine in white, personally I don’t care about the lack of soft close drawer slides because I’m that paranoid person that always forces my drawers shut anyways. Overall it matches my more expensive Husky lift up table with two drawers beautifully, it’s almost the same white (my lighting is horrendous so they wouldn’t match perfectly anyways) and it works great and for a cheaper price than the Husky ones for sure! I love the thinner drawers and will use the deep, larger drawers to hide bulky tools in. I love woodworking, but don’t have the time to build custom cabinets yet for my set up garage/shop and I’m thrilled it’s not any deeper or wider than it is because I barely have room already so I’m happy with the dimensions, happy that I only had to install the wheels and handle bar and my Mother and I were able to scoot this sucker out of the back of her vehicle without damaging it or ourselves! The Husky lift up table was much harder to get out of the suv so win win for me! And I saw some comment on using this as a kitchen island, I personally would remove the top and build one custom that over extends the sides up to 1”. I probably will add hardwood frame around both mg Husky and Yukon tops to keep them from wearing or chipping and I have no idea if the top is strong enough for a Vice or not. Might be better to build a thicker, hardwood top for heavy duty use
Yep love mine I think they used outdated craftsman tooling and patents. It’s actually pretty awesome. Mines the 5 drawer
I’d skip any of the Harbor freight or HomeDepot boxes and go to a Menards and buy a Masterforce… they have self locking drawers with a full length latch for a handle to unlock them….. nobody else that I’ve seen has such amazing features or quality as do the Menards boxes… not even Icon or Milwaukee has this feature and yet cost thousands more
I love mine have 2 no problems 4 yrs
I use one of these in my office and it's been awesome. I have another one that I use for firearms related maintenance... Also perfect.
I wanna purchase 3!! One for my baking area and another one for my digital design storage, and tool storage!!(Mounted miter saw! Nice review!!
I like the white but wonder how it will look in a few years. I believe I get the black color for it hides a lot.
Best investment I bought in years. Literally is small enough for me to keep the tools I need in it where I can take anything off my truck with
Damn I really wanted this but I was hoping it would come in pieces bc I want to assemble inside a bedroom to act as storage for tools but fully assembled I might be out. Thank you for the informative video
Yukon and Huskey probably roll down assembly lines in the same place - I thought earlier that the Yukon was just a better priced unit until I found that Husky is s full 24” in this model and Yukon only 18”.
I'm waiting for Jay Leno to show up at the new and improved Panda garage. Cheers
Don't you also make golf videos? I'm glad you made this one!
Do your drawers all close ALL THE WAY easily so that they can be locked? i got one today, got it home and unboxed it. Checked the drawers before i started assembly and found that other than the top drawer the other drawers dont close easy like i feel they should. they close till like the last bit then i have to give them a pretty decent push to get them in all the way so that it can be locked. They i have to pull on them pretty decently to get them open. Pretty sure they arent suppose to be like that. I feel they the tracks arent set right or something cause it seems the right side of the drawers get to the end of the track before the left side causing this issue. Its going back for an exchange tomorrow
