In sum, if you are U.S. based... file for your home state, monitor the other states, if you reach a certain threshold, begin to file for those states as well?
Good summary Betty! Still, we always recommend getting an expert's advice. Here's a great article that sums up taxes for Amazon FBA 💸 jnglsct.com/YT-Tax
Quick question iam watching the 2018 million dollar case study (keyboard tray) after which episode would you recommend I make a start at my new Amazon business? BTW excellent videos . Well done to Greg , Ronaldo and the team!
The #MillionDollarCaseStudy 🔥 let's you see the whole process in real time but we encourage you to take action as soon as possible. How do you get around the issue of you're required to collect sales tax on every sale in every state in which you have a nexus, and it's illegal to start collecting sales tax without that state's license/permit; but, you don't know if you have a nexus before you start making sales because you don't know where Amazon is going to warehouse your products?
Hi! We recommend you watch this webinar with TaxJar. It might give you some great insight on how to handle those: www.junglescout.com/amazon-sales-tax-webinar/ As well as this blog post: blog.taxjar.com/amazon-fba-nexus/
@@junglescout thank you very much for your response. I live in the Caribbean and I'm trying to get onboard with Amazon FBA, is there anything I need to do on my end for US Shoppers to pay taxes if they purchase my FBA products?
Hi Josh! No problem at all, if you sell on the US marketplace then Amazon will automatically collect the necessary sales tax based on the shopper's shipping address. :)
@@junglescout ok great, thanks once more for your response and all the invaluable information you share, it makes selling on Amazon a little less scary for newbies like me.
I just checked my tax settings in Seller Central and it seems that Amazon is now doing all the tax handling/collection and filing in 23 states. Am I wrong about that?
CryptoComplete I’d like to know about this too. I’m a seller in VA. I may hit around $100k this year in gross revenue FBA from the US. But I’ve never collected sales tax or signed up for it.
@@JustinAmosPolymath On my tax settings page, Virgina IS one of the states that APPEAR to be automatically and completely handled by Amazon. But I am not sure if you can even get into your tax settings page without a state tax id number. You should try. See if you can get to this page: sellercentral.amazon.com/tax/nexus/settings
Amazon collects and remits taxes on your behalf in certain States. Check out Amazon's Tax Calculation Services Terms for more info ➡️ amzn.to/2XLJtG2 And, as usual, when dealing with legal/tax queries, we recommend you consult an accountant or tax advisor. ✔️
Yup, FBA sellers have that nexus "by proxy" as they partner with Amazon. That nexus includes states where Amazon has a Fulfillment Center. Check out the following article for more info ➡️ jnglsct.com/YT-Tax
Hi, thanks for informative content. Is it correct what she said about sales transactions threshold? She said 100,000 $ in sales or 200,000 transactions !! Is it 200,000 or 200 separate transactions ? I am not confident enough to start my FBA business because of taxes and filing reports 😕, even if I am not making any sales in certain state I have to file zero reports because I registered for seller tax permits in that state!! Any advices ?

Does Sales Tax apply to non US FBA sellers who reside outside the US?
Hi Joshua! Sales tax only applies to US shoppers. VAT applies to EU shoppers. :)
