      Luciatorres99 I'm 15 and saw it know but I just realized how happy I could actually am. I spitted me of the "popular" girls in the age of idk 10-12 because I noticed that I don't like them and my sister told me her thoughs about my friends - and she was right everytime. In my class I 'just' have about four people I'm close to but that's enough. I just can smile when I see the cool kods trying everything to stay popular. I chose the right friends so everthing is good. Guys find the right friends even if they aren't the coolest but with them school is just funny and easy.

    Dear everyone who related to this...your perfect and loved. Your beautiful! Middle school is hard but someone will always be there and I'm not saying this to be like everyone else. I am saying this because our society is screwed, and you derserve respect because your good enough and loved. ❤️

      Kaleigh Barbour I'm a boy so I don't have much experience with all of these things, but boys go through similar experiences. I'm 15 and since 5th grade I've been being picked on and told that I'm not good enough and that my clothes are stupid and aren't in style. I used to have long hair and other kids would bully me about it, I kept it for years just to show them that they couldn't hurt me. Before high school I cut my hair and changed my entire look. I had moved and would not be going to school with anyone I knew so I got the chance to start over. It's funny how some clothes can change who your friends are. I am friends with people that I would have never thought would want to be friends with me.

    • @walkermason143
      @walkermason143 7 років тому +4

      Kaleigh Barbour it's stupid that my clothes, my shoes, and my haircut is what people judge me by. But through these experiences I found people who are doing the same thing I am doing, they changed themselves to make friends. In high school there is this pressure to date and if you don't people can judge you. I've never had a girlfriend and I don't need one to show that I'm cool or that I am a nice person. But for some reason nobody else seems to understand that. I hope other people will read these comments and know that it isn't just the girls who have pressure to be a certain way

    Wow. So true. I see other girls trying so hard to be popular, to be someone their not. They starve themselves, pretend they don't care, do inappropriate things, and this poem explains it so perfectly. I've been judged because I'm not "skinny" enough, my hair isn't straight and shiny, but to curly, I don't wear what most kids wear, I don't wear make up, and I hang out with "nerds and geeks". My self-esteem isn't the best because of these "rules" society makes. I've learned to do what I want and finally accepted to not give a crap if people judge. They can keep on calling you names and judge every single thing you do but you can stay happy and continue doing what you love to do. It's my last year of middle school this year and I'm happy that I picked the right choices.❤️

    I stopped wearing makeup around the beginning of sixth grade. I was so done with it. The powder and mascara in my eye and I couldn't touch it because smudges are embarrassing. I just go to school everyday. School uniform, plain hoodie, tangled hair that I try and try to make it look nice but it never does. And you know what? I go to school everyday and I'm the only one there not wearing makeup. I'm the only one there who doesn't have their hair up in a cute bun or curls or strait and silky. I'm the only one that doesn't give a crap. when someone says "you have dark circles under your eyes. Are you tired or something?" I have been told that a thousand times because I have always had circles under my eyes and I'm so used to it that I stopped trying to cover it with makeup. I believe that I can be beautiful without it. And so can you.

    People don't understand how much this helps some of us. There are stupid people in the comments saying that these are white girl problems or that converse are comfy that was not the point the point was to show what we all think I myself have never worried about fitting in I prefer to read a book and stick with my real friends but I have seen people in my class do stuff like this and I can tell that they don't even like it but they do it anyway and it makes me sad because they could do so much better than what they are at please if you read this don't comment those pathetic things

      AlexisRiley_Art 27 I honestly feel like that the diversity in the school has a big role bc I noticed how schools with most of one race has issues like these. I go to an extremely diverse school and I’ve never had these problems bc everyone is so different that there is no “one way” to be “cool or popular” in fact we don’t even use the world Popular.

    its sooo true. in school we do things to impress other kids, boys and girls, we want them to accept as...school ends, they leave and at the end of the day it would be better to stay yourself from the beginning.

    My 11 year old daughter says THANK YOU for writing and reciting such a wonderful & amazing poem!! This expresses what she goes through in 6th grade...just trying to fit in! As her Mom, I can say that Everybody can relate to this b/c not only in Middle school does this happen but it continues throughout life! Bullies don't go away no matter the age, BUT how we respond to them is the most important thing! We must stand on our faith, stand on our principles and morals and be okay even if we have to stand alone. Thank you again and keep pressing on!!

    I have tears in my eyes. This is so powerful and makes me happy, but just the thought of knowing that there are so many people that don't care about this and think it's just an exaggeration whether they don't go through it as much as some others do or not, really breaks my heart. I always assume that people are nice and care when you give them a smile or try to approach them, but overtime I realized and am still realizing that those are the qualities that are the last thing in so many people's minds. We all have it in us, the kindness and willing to help one another, but it's more difficult to get it set in some people's minds. I really dislike it when people treat me different just because I am somewhat considered a "nerd". This stuff is so right, not cringeworthy. You wouldn't say it's cringeworthy if you did understand what she is talking about. We all go through this, but some take it in or think about it more than others. Thank you for this!

    People always say that having no friends isn't as bad as it says it is. When most of these people saying that are the ones who haven't had to eat lunch alone, who haven't had to walk the halls alone, who haven't had to explain to the teacher that you just didn't want to do the partner work with an actual partner. Yes I do agree some people can make it just fine on there own. But not everyone is like that one person. Most people rely on approval from friends. Most people rely on others to feel good about themselves. So you already know they need to stop thinking like that, but criticizing someone isn't going to help

    People did this to me I never fit in. I was bullied that I wrong about myself. But I realized after years is that I am me. No one can be the person I am, the blue eyes, the blonde hair, and dressed like a 5 year old boy. But that's me. So why do people jugde other. Why dose society sort others out......But all I can say is be what I am best at doing and what I am best at is being myself in anyway it doesn't matter about the, laughs, the stares, the points.... Because those things is what keeps me running...and that is who I am...
