You two are the best chasers ever.
I've seen so many pilger, Nebraska videos and this footage, I've never seen from this angle.
And the proximity of the twins from your vantage point....
Simply awe stunning. Unbelievable.
I saw another vid and Jesus Christ you guys have talent
I hope you're getting paid accordingly
"You film that one, I'll film this one."
#3 on the list of 'You Know Shit's Going Down When You Say...'
Just epic and probably a once in a lifetime moment. Awesome vid!
Such an astonishing and rare phenomenon. If I saw that in person, I'd bring it up at every family gathering for the rest of my life.
6:08 to 6:12 probably is some of the most dramatic and artistically perfect images in the entire history of storm chasing. No joke. I’ve watched thousands of tornado videos and this final shot gets to me every time : it’s completely, absolutely, perfect.
It looks EXACTLY like the EF6 tornado from Into the Storm. That movie got one thing right
My favorite part was 5:25
left twin was floating
Reed was filming on the other side of these twin's.. I so wish you hadn't stopped filming the second it started turning into one.. Crazy footage! 🤔🌪️😶
This video and skip talbot are the best videos on the pilger tornadoes out there. just beautiful
Pecos Hank Pilger. Also great
It’s rare to see two tornadoes at once, but it happens sometimes during cycling, as one dies and the next drops. But this incident was extraordinary because there were two huge violent EF4s side by side and then merging. Even one EF4 is rare, but twins like this have never been documented before to my knowledge. I wonder what the storm computer modelers think happened. The same storm also generated the fastest moving tornado ever recorded, when one late-stage roping tornado whipped around a newer one. The flat, mostly treeless Nebraska terrain made it all visible. Great footage from an ideal angle.
A small pet peeve: the singular of “vortices” is “vortex,” not “vorticee.”
What do you mean by: even one ef4 is rare, they where both rare
Absolutely stunning ....a+
"Hope everybody's taking cover."
Drives towards tornado.
Best Pilger footage I've seen
That was MASSIVE!!!! Did the tornadoes merge into one? I was thinking the same thing just before you said it in the video. Wow. Great video.
+WickedTornado thank you...the force of nature just blows me away! Your job is so thrilling. Love watching your videos.
when tornadoes merge, they cancel eachother out because the winds are opposing
As a life-long Oklahoman, that's a BAD day!
Never in my whole life have I seen two powerful tornadoes together in one area. : o
Eye popping!
I'm just wondering: Are there any tornadoes that aren't violent?
I guess you could say EF0 tornadoes aren't very violent, with wind speeds of 65 to 85 mph. From Wikipedia : "EF0 damage is characterized by superficial damage to structures and vegetation. Well built structures are typically unscathed, sometimes sustaining broken windows, with minor damage to roofs and chimneys. Billboards and large signs can be knocked down. Trees may have large branches broken off, and can be uprooted if they have shallow roots."
This may not be the biggest tornado of all time but this is the best and scariest video of a tornado that i have ever seen. Thumbs Up. Thumbs Up.
John Vu, for sure. I was totally enthralled be the magnificent power. At the moment God the Bible & all other hog shit I've been fed. Just went out the window
30 seconds In and I have to say that is one of the cleanest video of a twister I have seen
One of the most interesting tornadoes on film. Massive. Rare for two tornadoes to form so close to each other.
really
UNbelievable two monster tornadoes. Whats worse than one tornado? Two powerful tornadoes like this at the same time. Don't think I have seen anything like this before. What a phenomenon....
Leroy Jennings Talk about a release of power. Tornadoes are God no doubt about it
When your video is timeless 👏🏻
I can't begin to comprehend witnessing a storm that large.....looks absolutely beautiful yet incredibly scary simultaneously just on video.......
6:02 that poor house caught in the middle of those two killers
Great footage, spectacular.
That is the coolest looking tornado I have ever seen.
Probably the best footage I’ve seen of these tornadoes, great shot.
David Vance No way you actually believe that lol. Most who’ve been inside a tornado would agree it’s one of the worst days of their life. Horrific, violent, and terrifying. You want to see what the inside of a tornado looks like? Go watch the video “footage inside a violent tornado with TIV2” by Brandon Ivey. The farthest thing from calm.
David Vance there’s no way of knowing, the movie Twister is not real man. I’m not saying there’s not a small area in the eye that might be calm. There have only been 2 people in history to live and claim story of living through the eye of a tornado. And both were 80-100 years ago. I’m saying overall, nobody is sitting in the eye and thinking, “wow this is beautiful”. No, they’re all praying for their life. Yes tornados are beautiful from the outside looking in, I’m obsessed with them. But being inside of one is far from calm.
With both of those EF5'S merged together that monsters at least 4 miles wide now. That's absolute destruction my friends
Both of these tornadoes were rated EF4. Also, they did not merge into one tornado. If these tornadoes were close enough to touch, they would tear each other apart.
Whenever there are some awesome tornadoes, I always look for Dick McGowan for some sweet ass footage :D
*AMAZING FOOTAGE*
That is a beauty!
LP low perceptitation high contrast huge tight tornado 🌪.
Warning ⚠️...we have a Screamer.
Turn down your volume.
The enviorment for this day might be the most impressive tornado enviornment ever recorded. The skew T from Omaha (about 40 miles SE of pilger) at 419pm indicated 5700 SBCAPE, 4200 MLCAPE, 528 Effective Storm Relative Helicity, 513m LCL heights, and 60 kts of effective shear. It doesn't get more potent than that.
This is the stuff of nightmares. I bet this was probably thought impossible a few years ago
I was in the 2005 outbreak in Memphis and saw 3-4 EF3 tornadoes touchdown at the same time. They were all about 60 ft wide and all in a 3 mile radius
The power lines whipping around at 2:37 !
Amazing. Grew up in OK and never saw 2 monsters like that
It was an amazing Chase that day🤞🌪
the hell with those high voltage power lines whipping in the wind, go, go gd it, go! didn't you know you have immunity during the chase?
Amazing footage and I can't believe its only got 25k views?........ Very good job on the footage though
wow you are a storm chaser there are very close👍
so.. did it miss that house the 2nd time? I hope
Um...that was some scary looking shitz going on! Two big ass tornadoes, one on each side of you! Yikes! Great video!
Oh man they look scary as hell!! I would have been so scared and horrified if I had seen them in person.
how far away where those tornadoes from where you were in the car?
They clearly said the distance in the video
pure monster
Pilgers are what I think of with tornados.
Such a great filming opportunity. Gotta get that camera work button up.
So did they combine at the end or was one just in front of the other relative to the camera ?
they dont combine, they would have cancelled eachother out. One was just infront of the other relative to the camera. the first tornado became very far
They are so calm during this video. I would have been scared as hell.
One word epic!
chasers dream shot.
Это просто фантастика 👍
You've got two twisters comin'. Neither one of them's still..."If the right one don't get you, then the left one will." --- Quotes gratefully borrowed from "Sixteen Tons" by MerleTravis.
unbelievable footage. Those phone lines though lol.
Those were electric lines. The phones lines were all put underground starting around 1970.
"Look at that horizontal vortice, all the way to the right - film that!"
"I AM" she protested, lyingly. :P
Anybody else think this thing looks creepy as sin?
Jeremiah Prows, Tornadoes aren't creepy. They are grand & magnificent. Hard to believe something like this is possible. People always holler for God when they witness one
This is so "Extremely" rare. (Cannot believe this supercell actually produced 3 tornadoes that day which in reality is so unbelievably insane.) But without a doubt this video will forever be in Weather History. This is Amazing footage of this event. That may never happen again in our lifetime. Phenomenal job getting this footage!! (And yes, fellow commenters. Those two twins merged, the dominant one won😄)
That's a nightmare scenario right there.
Dats a MONSTER!!!
This is absolutely crazy. Don't you think you are just a little too close?
I agree that’s why they have telephoto lenses. But chasers will be chasers I guess🤣
Imagine if those two tornadoes made it together and made a huge one💨🌪🌬
that’s not how it works, they would cancel eachother out since the winds would be going in opposing directions
Kinda looks like a giant handheld mixer.
Wonder if this inspired the twin tornadoes in the upcoming "Twisters" movie?
I’ve been watching a lot of tornado videos but this one. How I would’ve loved seen them in person
If these went through a major city I have no doubt in my mind these both would've been rated EF5
sick
Oh my
This is EF 8 now
Oh, and I will never forget chasing June 16, 17, 18 2014. Absolutely insane and, while there were certainly tragedies throughout, it could have been worse.
You hit the Jack Pot!!
3:08 first pilger tornado slowly growing
That's not a supercell that's a hypercell
Ganit tornado 🌪 I never see
"If the right one don't get you than the left one will."
Muy buen video Pene McGowan
Yikes Twin Monsters................ Ughhhhh so GLAD THESE WERE IN sparsely populated areas.
Somebody must have done something wrong to bring this level of smite
What the heck was that that went across the road way up in front of them at like 1:05 - 1:10 ???
((Don't Blink or You'll Miss It!))
The monster is pissed
Imagine them both going thru Dallas at rush hour. It’s gonna happen someday unfortunately 😢
One vortex, two vortices.
And...OMG you're calm? You must have burned out your adrenals years ago.
Angry sky!
That is one evil looking tornado..correction two evil looking tornadoes.
F4 +F4
Scary as fuck !!!
Good thing the Great Plains are so sparsely populated.
Oh wow its an EF8! Lol Jkjk...
I bet my ex-wife didn't like it o that's why you have renters insurance lol
There’s no such thing as a vorticy.
Has anyone ever seen a tornado that wasn't violent????These loud mouths, about everyone of them scream (VIOLENT TORNADO)All except Pecos.
There's no such thing as a non violent tornado.
Actually, if you’ve ever been in an F0 and an F5, you would know the difference between a non violent tornado and a violent one..
the first is a windstorm, the latter is the finger of God..
It’s discusseding how you talk to that “woman”
Why can’t people ever just stfu when they’re filming tornadoes? “LARGE TORNADO” “VIOLENT TORNADO” like yeah it’s right there, you’re filming it. Just let it be the magic it is. I curse the first person who ever started screaming that crap on camera
Gee, let's see... Life and death situation, emotions running high... Yeah, how dare they not consider how you feel
