    Guzzi moves the heart. Simply one of the last real and loved motorcycle brands left in a sea of machines.

    I bought a 2023 MG V7 Stone Special Edition 2 weeks ago brand new. Had a $3k rebate. Drove 250 miles to pick it up (500 round trip lol). I LOVE IT! Already have 850 miles on it and getting ready for the 1st service around 930 miles. Next very well may be the Mandello. I love the styling, shaft drive, and how easy they are to maintain, especially with motor not being hidden under the tank, radiator, etc. Old school and beautiful! Thank you so much for this review and all of the others you have done 👍

    I think these are a great bike. Very underrated. I am seriously thinking of getting one of these after I am finished with my 1100 Tuono. I am getting a little long in the tooth for Hyper- nakeds now and will want something more comfortable but still fun and sporty. And shaft drive is a bonus. I am not into Adventure bikes at all and would much prefer something like the Mandello. Fortunately here in Normandie, France ,where I live, we have a Guzzi dealer near us.

      Tuono 1100 Factory to V100S is the journey I took, probably for the same reasons. V100 is a pleasure and not quite so intense as the Tuono. Terrific bike, zero regrets

    I have the red and gold V100 and it’s a sacrifice worth taking not having the electronic suspension for the looks over the V100S, plus, the savings at purchase and simplicity for reliability makes the V100 the canny buyers choice

    I have a '23 V7 Stone Special Edition and a '24 V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale. The difference in riding the bikes is like night and day. The V7 has a smoother transmission, where the V100 makes a terrible "clunk" going into first at a stop. I'm a low-tech person, so the Navale has enough gizmos for me. Although, I think the price difference between the Navale and 100 S when I bought mine was less than $1000, I probably still would've gotten the Navale (I work in foreign military sales for the USAF, so the connection with the Italian F-35s hit a mark for me, more so than the Ohlins suspension). Guzzis are definitely a niche bike, and those that know, know!

    Would i buy?
    Well .. my answer has been a 'Yes' this afternoon. Took the Grey S Model as it looks more elegant than the green one for me.
    I lover the handling, suspension and sound of this bike!
    Power and Torque is enough almost everywhere. (Coming from a BMW K1200S i need to state, that the V100 is not made for high speed Autobahn .. but instead it is such a fun to drive on country roads!)
    This bike moves your soul! 😊

    When I was buying Mandello, guy from dealership told me that Stelvio is more comfy. I am 184cm so was quite curious. It was more Aprilia dealership and since they sold last model he allowed me to sit on his bike 😅. I sold my VFR800X few years ago so Stelvio is not my cup of coffee but I have to admit that position is very comfortable and the quality feel is there 👍

    Hey Scott. How comfortable would that suspension be on small, rough alpine roads? Is it as soft/comfortable as your F900XR. I ask as that's what I've currently got and the suspension in Road mode seems to cope very well. How would the Guzzi compare?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 місяці тому +2

      About the same, maybe the XR would be a little softer, as this is Ohlins and they are performance focused. But in the softest setting, this is coming close to the XR. This has a lot more feel and feedback coming from the front and rear and that can be mistaken for being hard but it's more about communication and how the suspension is speaking to the rider. Once I adjusted to that amount of feedback, I'd say it can get almost as soft as the XR.

    I’ve always wanted to buy a Moto Guzzi but, there are now zero dealerships in Atlantic Canada. The closest is over 700 kilometers away and there’s next to zero chance to snag a demo ride. The dealership I liked in Georgia (where I ride a lot) is closed. In my imagination, I’m presuming in Europe and Britain there’s no problem finding dealerships . . . or, is it an issue there too? It’s a pity because the more videos I watch like this, the more I want to ride and possibly buy one.

    • @ravenarrow4631

      The closest one to me closed and they sent their inventory 250 miles away (in the US). Went there 2 weeks ago and grabbed a V7 Stone Special Edition. I love it! I know I'll be doing the maintenance, but these bikes are great for that with the exposed motor and easily maintained shaft drive. Basically change fluids like a car and you should be good to go. Well worth the 500 mile round trip...plus there was a $3k rebate since it was a 2023 brand new 😅

    • @rickparkinmoto
      @rickparkinmoto 3 місяці тому +1

      Dealership in the UK is limited but improving. My nearest dealer is 60 miles away (I know, nothing compared to 700km). I bought the standard V100 in red. Had it for 1 year now and done 7,000 miles. It's a keeper, although I do need to swap out the rear shock, as it's too harsh for British roads even on the softest settings. The forks are absolutely fine though - no problems there. Hope you get the chance to try one out soon.

    I tested this bike twice and really wanted to by one. I also tested the R12 ninet twice and made an impulse decision to buy the BMW at the last minute. I love the BMW but miss the wind protection on the motorway and I do agree that the engine sound is better. But the R12 does sound sweet between 4-8k revs and pulls a little harder. I did have concerns over reliability on the Guzzi too and the heating in the city where I often ride. I might at some stage switch to the Mandello S, if I start touring more!
