I’ve heard this Jazz Dispensary is much better than the last two. Black Jazz was a pretty cool label. They have some great albums but some that I don’t care for. The Mamas and Papas at Monterey was a great raw set.
Not sure which Chester Thompson is the one you "know and love" but this one may not be that one! The Black Jazz Chester D. Thompson is a keyboard player who played with Tower of Power and Santana. The more well-known (IMO) Chester Thompson is the drummer who played with Genesis, Phil Collins, Frank Zappa, and many others.
@@ThatShelf I was more familiar with the Chester who played with Zappa, so when I saw the Black Jazz releases with his name I thought it was him. I didn't know at the time that there were two of them!
I picked up 3 RSD releases / Little Feat 3 LP live was the best bargain. $50 / I also picked up John Lee Hooker & also the Faces
