I had a Chilean dwarf tegu, male around 18”, back in the early 90s. They were super common and only around $20. It was amazing, I’d pay 100xs that to find another
All tegu's can be heckin good boys, I was so surprised when I saw your other video on tegu's and you were like "NEVER GET A COLOMBIAN THEY'RE DEMON SPAWN" essentially. My colombian is more skiddish than argentines (A local reptile store that I visit regularly has a red argentine) but he has the same aggression levels... so pretty much zero. He will gently take food out of my hand when I'm feeding him, he's never even tried to bite me, and even if he did his teeth are so small he can hardly hold onto the white part of a hardboiled egg. Aside from that he loves to cuddle up like any argentine would, he is just more easily frightened than they are due to him being smaller. He's not a big fan of my dogs or cat, but he knows I'm his buddy and never shows me or any other humans in my house aggression. It could be that I raised him right (I got him as a hatchling from a breeder, not a wild caught adult like some others get), but I think Colombians just have a bad rap.
An argentine black and White tegu is one of my dream reptiles. Great vid! ✨ I'm wondering if you'll ever cover the Russian Ratsnake (Elaphe Schrenckii). Such a BEAUTIFUL, hardy, interactive and intelligent snake. That is also known for it's docile behaviour! 😄 I think you'd love them from what I've heard
Could your channel please please PLEASE PLEASE do a review of the Leaf Tailed Gecko?!?! Such a neat reptile to feature!!!! And I didnt even know it existed until last week!
Man! All these monitors you cover! Any chance (purely just for fun) of getting a Komodo Dragon?? You have done purely fanciful things like the king cobras and vipers afterall!
Me thinks the skink, tegus, and monitors all have pretty simular features for sure.. exception the caiman variety.. lol. You teach us so much! 😄The macro evolution over 1000's of years of the reptiles is so interesting. So many species belonging to one kind of animal; Lizards. So... 2 by 2 of their kind. It makes so much since now.. and they must have been babies and the wood would have been shelter because there were no trees.. Giant shell fossils on mountain tops.. trees standing straight up in strata petrified across the globe! OPE sorry I was thinkng outloud. No offense to anyone reading my comment... should they understand my rambling.. lol.
I used to have a dwarf Tegu back in the late '80s. Cute little fellow with a great personality. At Tom Crutchfield's I saw a bin full of what he called "Tegu monitors", and I always wondered what the hell they were; they had Tegu heads, complete with shiny plated heads on dusky-skinned monitor bodies with the heavy fore-armed "Popeye" legs. I'm going to assume they were what you call the "False monitor" here, but, unfortunately, the examples you show here are in the wild without the obvious body traits that a well fed specimen might display.
Evolution - Like Dawkins said " The Greatest Show On Earth." It's endlessly fascinating. Every single living thing on the planet is related , we all share DNA. This is far more interesting than any fairytale scribbled down when people had no clue about anything.
I remember seeing some Dwarf Monitor Tegus in a good reptile shop back in the early 90's in Toronto. They were amazing. I should have purchased the whole group.

You are correct I haven’t heard of these Tegus, I’m intrigued
What! Our beaming young boy fascinated by every animal on earth HAS GREY BEARD HAIR?!?! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, HE'S ONLY BUT A LAD!
I love this channel
I’ve seen croc tegus for sale and they are crazy expensive $5,500 for individuals and $12,500 for pairs
Crocodilurus amazonicus is gorgeous. A few info we can find about him. Excellent work. I like very much your channel.
My major is Portuguese/English and Literature. Nobody, me included, understands my obsession with lizards. This channel is a haven.
My first lizards were a pair of Chilean Dwarf Tegus over 30 years ago. They will forever be my favorite reptiles.
I really want to cover them.
He protecc he attecc he review lizard and snecc
Is your name a reference to The Waltons?
Noice
Litteraly one of the most interesting topics you could think of!👍
Thank you! Should we make more like it?
@@ClintsReptiles yes
Absolutely! If you made one about the Iguanidae, I would personally be extremely happy :)
Clint's Reptiles could you make one about snakes that people don’t know about
I'm currently breeding Kusco-Buttocks Lizards 🦎
I want that grey caiman. I really want a caiman lizard. But agree the red and green is a bit of a turn off. The grey looks amazing
I remember seeing some Dwarf Monitor Tegus in a good reptile shop back in the early 90's in Toronto. They were amazing. I should have purchased the whole group.
Midvale resident here. I have recently started keeping a colony of Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and I am loving them!! I would live to see a video and would gladly let you use my colony if you need to.
