"I miss my friend"
"Tell me about her"
I'm crying so hard.
wow that last scene. When Julie says "tell me about her" is just so heartbreaking. Even more when you understand how little Julie knew Marissa..so sad
Thinking about it now hearing it from Ryan must be extra sad… Julie and Marissa were quite close and everything changed around the time Ryan came around. Not his fault of course so many things happened in that family without him, just the timing. So it’s like there’s a version of Marissa that Ryan knows so well that Julie barely does.
@@sophiakarina5322 I wouldn't say Julie and Marissa were close before Ryan got there. All you have to do is watch S1, episode 8 to learn that Marissa felt Julie didn't know her or understand her at all, even before Ryan got there. "You thought I was happy?"
@@sophiakarina5322 "close"?? Maybe superficially as in going shopping and having fun, but she knew nothing about her daughter inside! And this is exactly what's being shown in this scene.
Julie was an horrible parent. She loved her kid but was just terrible.
Goosebumps from the point she said Sorry, because Julie is like Reset!
The scene between Julie and Summer breaks my heart. "We can't go on like this anymore can we." "No."
I loved Julie having actual feelings.
Ryan and Julie was way more emotional lol
Wendy, did you notice the door was open keirstin and sandy are watching in the back so Julie doesn’t give Ryan a blowjob and let him give her the Chino ride in case
Everytime I hear Julie say "Tell me about her," I tear up.
InuyashaFreak me too
meant me too
I know it’s so sad. :’-(
She said “tell me about me” when she was riding Luke cow girl style
@@buddyj8815 I wonder how Luke reacted to Marissa's death.
This show had the best soundtracks...
so whats the song?
orange sky, mr brightside, deathcabforcutie, oasis, imogen heap.....this show was elevated because of its amazing choice in music
Each start of an episode had anice song
OTH had the best soundtrack...
its gg all of my days
I love Julie's development in the series. It made me fell in love with her.
Taylor too
@@Joe_Parmesan, I loved Taylor. She was good for Ryan.
Julie made improvements too. To see her vulnerable instead of the cold heartless bitch she was in the beginning of the season is really good character development. To see Ryan and Julie sitting down together having a conversation about a person they both loved showed how far both have become.
Julie is an amazing character. She came so far over 4 seasons.
To this day, I still cry everytime I watch this scene... I miss Marissa and I miss The O.C.
Raquel Canena I just watched it15yrs later.I loved it,so sad how it ends.
Raquel Canena you’re beautiful tho
Mischa choose to die. So I hope u've moved on...
it's june 2024...and i'm crying lol
"I miss my friend" breaks my heart. I know how it feels to be in that exact situation. My best friend died in a car crash the summer before we were going off to college, and the absolutely worst part about it was how insanely much I missed her. Everything in my life reminded me of her, and you can talk about it and cry all you want, nothing brings that person back. Even though it happened eight years ago, I still miss my friend. But it's one of those things that you just learn to live with...
So very sad. I hope you are doing ok
So sorry for you 😢
My best friend died in 2013 as well . Back watching the oc it was a sad scene. But watching it after 2013..now I understand. Nothing compares to this feeling..... I am sorry for your loss as I am for anybody who has to live through this..every day they are in our hearts, but still I miss her every day. Memories are not enough...But they are all we have
When I was in high school I joined this Jewish youth group, of which I was a part for 4 of the best years of my life, because it allowed me to meet the people who I am closest with now. One of those people was my buddy josh. He and I were 3 years apart in age, meaning that when we met he was in his senior year of high school, and I was in my freshman year. He and I would see each other every week at siat programs, until he graduated and our communication basically ceased. We went from talking every week, to basically not at all. That is, of course until December 4th 2019. This was a few months after my graduation. Now at this point I was packing for my trip to Israel, the best trip that I’ve ever taken without question. Now at this point I had my phone on my desk, and I was packing at the edge of my bed. I hear a ding and go over to check my phone for any notifications. I see that I received a text from the siat senior group chat I was in, that said, “ did you hear about josh” I immediately responded and said, “ no, what happened”? Then three of the most painful words that I’ve read came back. The text said, “josh died last night”. Now something about me is that I am skeptical about everything that is tragic, because I want it all to be a cruel joke, and yet, 2 years later he’s still gone.
Josh could light up a room just by walking into it. He was such an inspiration to me and everything else who knew him and I miss him a lot.
I rewatched the whole The OC series during this COVID-19 lockdown and all the more struck me with the warmth and importance of family, relationship this show has conveyed to us.
I was a teenager back then when I watched the first time and now I'm an adult - I now see many things in The OC from different perspectives than before and I realized how deeper this show was actually.
This scene is one of the scenes came across to me differently too. I used to relate only to Ryan & Summer but now Julie's words in this scene hit me pretty hard too.
Summer: "I miss my friend..."
Ryan: "She gave me a smile"
Julie: "Tell me about her"
'The OC' - the best teen drama show ever and will always stay in a special place in my heart
I think I feel the same as you rewatching this Tv show. But I really wanna ask you, where did you watch this? Please it's because I'm not from USA, and this isn't available on Netflix anymore.
@@carolaguilar975 I'm in Asia. I bought the whole set of DVD so I can rewatch anytime.
tk tojin you're lucky!
@@carolaguilar975 you can watch it on projectfreetv.fun , but this is one of the best shows of all time and worth every penny for the dvds!
Exactly the same thing happened to me! I used to love the teens because it was easy to see myself in them. But now I can clearly see how important some simple gesture from sandy and Kristen had dramatically changed people lives. And I really felt in love with Julie cooper character despite all the mistakes she made, she was always doing her best for her family even when she was wrong. If I am a father one day I would like to be like sandy freaking Cohen! What a man!!!
The two characters who loved Marissa the most. Despite their differences it didn’t matter at this moment. It was about being able to grieve and reconcile moments they’ve shared and felt with said person. The grieve and sadness never goes away but moving on is the only thing we can do to ease the pain. Death doesn’t just take away the people you love from you but it also brings them together. That’s perhaps the beauty behind such a natural yet painful part of life.
Ryan: I remember the first time I saw her. She, uh, she was wearing this white top thing, and I think she had jeans on. She was standing at the bottom of the driveway. And I thought.. Well, I thought she was really hot. Really hot. She gave me a smile.
Thanks!
´´I miss my friend´´ this make me cry every time
"I miss my friend" I don't know if I could handle a loss like that. Brilliant acting.
Season 4 actually started off really strong, the first 3 episodes where some of the best in the series.
Because the first 3 episodes were about marissa
T Maks Actually, the 4S still was about Marissa. Even in the relationship between Ryan and Taylor.
I actually like season 4 way more than season 3 and even some of season 2...
The Ryan and taylor deal had no chemistry and became too comedic.
This is a wonderful scene. Two people who are never going to be close, who are never going to be friends, who have been enemies from day one, brought together, for the most fleeting of moments, by grief. Both tearing down their walls to share a moment of tenderness and emotion, together, as though they are old friends. In that moment Julie no longer cares that he's the kid from the wrong side of the tracks who reminds her a little too much of herself, she just wants someone to share misery and memory with, even just for a short while. A brilliantly written and acted scene.
Beautifully said. As cheesy as it sounds that’s the power of losing someone you love. You would do the things out of your nature to be to comfort yourself in that painful moment. It’s also the beauty of it.
Ow I think they absolutely became friends by the end. more than that, they became family-Julie gave birth to his brother
Julie's character development was so beautiful! She was one of my fav
"'She gave me a smile." that gets me every time!
I liked the fact that Julie didn’t blame Ryan for Marissa’s death
In the early seasons she hated him but grew into such a lovable character
"I miss my friend" i could actually feel my heart breaking.
"Whoever you want me to be"
That scene Ryan talks about s the best one ever.
Yep, because I remember his first meeting with her.
"I miss my friend" 😭😭😭
One of the most beautifully put scenes in the o.c. history...very memorable
Marissa should have never died. Ryan and Marissa were soul mates no matter what girl or guy they went with, they were meant to be !
She died because the actress that played her was apparently getting bullied by the male cast
The actress also chose to die and the writers gave her an option. And they were not meant to be they were miserable every time they got together. They always got into arguments because she was getting close to other guys. They were meant to be friends that's it
@@grantmcroberts4089 She didn't say she was getting bullied by the male "cast." She said she was getting bullied by men with power. Ben and Adam had no power. In fact, Ben made less money than Mischa did and had little say. She's talking about executives and producers more than likely. Not the actors.
@@theresamahfouz790
Sounds like what happened with Hilarie on One Tree Hill.
She left after her contract was up at end of Season 6.
@@grantmcroberts4089 The cast or production crew? Was it ever clarified who Mischa had a problem with?
tv is no way this emmotional now, beautiful scene
Crazy to think that Ben McKenzie is almost 40 now. Wow, time flies...
Greg Pap lol
LeafFan0016 yup and he's still hot 😍
sure does seems crazy
He looks exactly the same, they all do actually.
I know, he's 43 now. It's so crazy lol. Also hard to believe that The OC started 2 decades ago. Man I feel old!
I bawled with Ryan when he was with marissa when she died and again here Julie saying tell me about her spoke volumes and she became a way better mom to Kaitlin
So tragic to have to lose a teenage daughter to evolve into a better person.
Julie and Ryan now are forever bonded. =(
That’s exactly right!
I think most of us secretly wanted Ryan & Marissa to last, even though we knew it wouldn’t
It should have.
It would have if the Writers didn’t write something as abysmal was Season 3.
„She gave me a smile.“ 😭💔

One of the best scene of all time “ tell me about her “
I wonder if adult architect Ryan still visits Marissa's grave every now and then.
when summer says "i miss my friend..." it makes me cry...so much.
I actually feel that the death of Marissa was a good call for many reasons. The ending of Season 3 was shocking and no one saw it coming, which was great TV and we wouldn't have got any of these great scenes at the beginning of Season 4 if she had lived. Season 4 definitely has it's downsides but for the most part, I thought it was pretty good. Humour had actually returned to the show for once, which had been lost since halfway through Season 2. Marissa was destined for trouble from the start and they wrapped up the series in a pretty great way!
I think it’s lazy. Her character never was given any rewarding qualities throughout her arc. So they decided to kill her. Which killed many of the other characters dynamics within the show particularly Ryan. Marissa was in the center of many events in the show. Season 1 and Season 2 included. Killing her off just made the show feel different and losing a major character isn’t good for marketing. Alas the ratings plummeted and it got cancelled. Could have done things way better.
Julie ended up being my favorite character. She really evolved over the seasons but was always funny AF
growin up when itwas still on tv seth was my favorite but now julie cooper is my absolute favorite after rewatching it present-day!
@@eeeyooohoh I think people’s opinions change from when they watched the show as a teen and then when they watch it as an adult. When you’re young it’s easy to see Julie as the worst parent ever, but as an adult you start to see her misguided choices were to try and help her girls. Especially when she lied about living in the trailer park. One of the reasons she didn’t want Marissa or Katelyn to know was because she didn’t want to embarrass them. I also loved how she went from being jealous of Kirsten to being her BFF.
@@Alieh86 yeah true, i used to despise julie in season 1 for treating marissa badly and sleeping with luke (a teenager), but she’s really evolved and changed over the series. marissa and julie’s relationship also really changed and they grew to love each other more (before she died).
@@eeeyooohoh yeah same for me … That’s the aging process I guess
Years later and this still makes me cry
You could Ryan was very emotional after he said “Really Hot” here 5:16 as if he couldn’t truly speak his mind because it was too much for him to handle at that moment still. Phenomenal acting.
Was her dad referring to THE Seattle Grace? Grey's Anatomy Seattle Grace?! 🙀🙀
Joshua Outlaw obvs
Right?????? Did anyone else not notice this gem!
I noticed this and yes, that’s obviousibly the one.
In the italian version, after ryan speaks, julie says 'il più bello del mondo' that means 'world's most beautiful one', referring to marissa's smile. And I think Italian version is even more emotional than this. Miss the OC tho
Fantastic Scene!!!!Thank you for posting!!
The OC is the last show that I tuned in at airing without fail, dropped everything to watch it.
I teared up more than I have ever teared up when I watched this when I was like 16 haha. One of my favorite moments ever on the OC
I love the fact they’re suggesting The OC takes place in the same universe as Greys Anatomy. TV needs more crossover episodes
I miss this show so much. It was brilliant. I love the opening scene here from 0:00 - 0:50. The music fits the mood here so well. Then of course the ending scene here from 4:08 to the end is stellar. I get emotional at the end. I wish The O.C. didn't end after 4 seasons. I wish it had gone for at least another 2 maybe 3 seasons if possible. I can envision so much that the writers could do if they had more seasons. Sadly more seasons after Season 4 were never meant to be. :'(.
Ryan and Marissa had something that most teenagers never have.
They're more like adults who go to school than teenagers.
OMG when Julie comes to the door till the end of the video i just cry cuz its so sad :'(
2022 and it’s still the best to show made
You can see Sandy and Kirsten watching from the dining room
I miss ryan and marissa together ;(
It makes me so heartbroken to see this season
It just wasn’t the same without Marissa 3 seasons and all of sudden she’s gone broke me couldn’t even get through season 4
It was better after marrissa was gone no stupid spoilt little brat to cause drama and be miserable every bloody time
we can all say this is the best show ever
2019 I'm still crying😄
Marissa whether you liked her or not and I liked her alot was such an important part of this show and without her I watched season 4 only for her memory as the storylines were brutal.
Every year I come back to this because soon itll be me
THIS MAKES ME CRY TO THIS DAY
this is heartbreaking
Tears rolling down my face
One of the best OC moments
Marissa was 17 when she died. 17!! So sad. Her life was so chaotic, but at least she got to experience love and happiness (intermittently) with Ryan.
I know she intended to move on from Ryan after graduation, but would they have found each other in later years, had she lived? It's possible, given the connection they shared.
It very well was. Ryan was the one who assured her that when they had that heart to heart in the Model Home before her death. Shame that the writers didn’t do her character justice.
omg I believe just watched this show summer 2018.I loved it.please bring it back.Melissa A. Aug2018life without this show won't be the same.
I actually have almost finished rewatching the show and this is possibly one of my favourite scenes of the entire series overall (I mean the one with Julie and Ryan). The first three episodes were so good and then things went downhill. The stuff with Julie was ok but the rest of them were all over the place. I mean it’s like they had no idea what to do with summer and Seth and they actually annoyed me so much I found myself running on a lot of their scenes. I may be in a minority here but I didn’t mind the Ryan and Taylor relationship but that was even a bit messy. There wasn’t nearly enough Seth/Ryan/sandy and Kirsten scenes. My only saving grace was Julie who I would watch doing anything on screen 😂😂 also I love the acting in this scene, Melinda in particular is fantastic
"Seattle Grace" lol
I love this show i am so upset that they don't have it showing on the TV anymore

If Mischa really wanted to be off of the show he should've left for the whole 4th season to work with her dad like planned, and it would still be sad cuz u would see how summer misses her and everyone else does too. And Ryan is trying to be with someone he meets at berkley (taylor is so wrong for him) but he just cant say i love you to her cuz he's inlove with someone else(marissa) and then at the very end she comes back and they both understand that they cant live without eachother and start d

@@leohcarrillo2981 she died because the actress chose that. And taylor was way better than marissa who the fuck would want to go out with a girl who causes drama and moans and cries every bloody time.
