She did it before, with Luke. She new he was kinda badass back then (before he changed) and it somehow attracts her even if she doesn't know whether it's just badass or evil.
Kinda irrelevant since Mischa Barton was leaving the show, so they HAD to write her off the show. The execs made sure she couldnt return because she pissed them off. Biggest mistake of her career.
The execs didn't completely write her off the show. They gave her an option to come back as a recurring character every once in a while. It was Mischa who chose for the character to die.
@@sportsmed77ctually Josh gave her the option but ultimately said it was his creative decision to kill her. He regrets it till this day. At the end of the day the writers are the ultimate power when it comes to the who stays and who doesn’t.
The last episode is the worst episode of the entire show like from the script. It's more absurd I felt like in the end of season 4 the writers didn't even take themselfs super sirious anymore.
alot of ppl say season 4 was so bad, but i dont agree sure some episode are not the best but episodes like these is what makes you remember this show until you die. If marissa did not die i dont think ppl would still talk about the oc as much.
The show should have ended at this episode this was the way it's supposed to be. Taylor and Ryan was forced and I hated how they completely changed Ryan's character to be with her. For me episode 3 of S4 it's the best ending.
This was a huge error in the show! Some asshole side character being the one to kill Marissa was a horrible idea for the overall plot. Josh Schwartz even admitted that season 3 was a mess. Marissa was attracted to Ryan b/c of his sad past of being hurt but a kind person, just like Oliver lied about and Johnny also. Marissa loved being the savior type to help the lost bad boys. Volchok wasn't like that at all, he was just a selfish asshole through and through, and Marissa was using him to get out her grief of not being able to save Johnny and having to live in a trailer park.
That's why I like Marissa with Volchok more. Because they had things in common like music and drinking and partying and having sex. Because that is a better attraction for both of them.
I recognize that actor from Never Back Down, Pandorum & Twilight. Even though I watched the o.c. back in the day i didn't remember him or recognize him from it.
She never wanted to be in movies or shows after this. She just wanted to stick to a modeling career plus there were feelings for Adam (Seth) and her and Rachel (summer) really didn't get along. I think she was being consumed by her character and she was feeling lost and depressed with everything. She hasn't done anything with modeling, stayed in touch with anyone, and secretly regrets leaving or showing any signs that "she" wasn't working.
Volchok wasnt really a villian just a jealous dude, alot of people thought in season 1 luke was a villian but turned out to be a good friend to ryan, volchok could of been a friend to ryan as well except his ego got in the way
It was actually Mischa's decision, or kind of decision. They gave her two options as finish for her character. 1. Marissa's gonna die or 2. she's gonna sailing around the world and that's it.. So she decided to let her character die..
I still can't believe how much this show was ruined after Marrissa died. It wouldve been one of the great memorable shows on tv. But instead Ryan ends up with Taylor?? It should've been Marrissa and Ryan in the end together :(
Eh no it shouldn't why the fuck should ryan be with marrissa her character was fucking shite and was always miserable. Chose to defend Oliver over ryan. She was too busy fancying Johnny and going out with Ryan and not make a bloody decision. Thank fuck her character was killed always fucking miserable taylor is actually fucking normal
One of those moments where justice is better than Revenge. If Ryan were to kill Volchok, it would be a hollow victory. It doesn’t bring Marissa back and he spends times in prison which means all those years in Newport trying to better himself would be all for nothing. And Volchok will live with the guilt of killing Marissa and that’s a fate worse than death.
ik a lot of people hated Marissa dying and say that's what ruined season 4 but I think they could have done the whole Marissa dying thing better like made it sadder and not only have the grief of the main characters who were affected by her death last for literally only 3 episodes. This season should have revolved more around her death. It's sad how they don't really show that after Volchok gets caught
mischa barton was the one who wanted to leave the show, the writer had no other choice but killing her. mischa was the one who wanted to leave the show because he had other projects ...
I wish there where another way they could write Marissa out, instead of she had to die, i mean she was still there in the end, and she was leaving any way, so i don´t see why she had to die?
doug szymanik Micha Barton wanted to be written out of the show in a way that she couldn't come back. So she requested for her character to be killed off
If marissa had not died, the show had become boring ... Ryan and Marissa had followed the cycle of fighting, break, return, ... and the series had become a little boring ..
Ever thought of actually instead of throwing her character towards the fire and not giving her any development but actually writing her character to have redemption and grow would be better? The writers were just incompetent. That decision killed the show. Season 4 became a Parody.
Ryan por mas que dijera que marissa ya no era su novia, se involucro hasta el ultimo minuto, diciendole a volchok qe la cuidara, y hasta yendo a buscar la plata.. claramente tenia bronca acumulada , y fue solo por el.
I loved season 4. It was the best season after my favorite season, season 1. Marrisa brought sooo much drama into ryans life… i am glad that it got more lighthearted for season 4 after this!
I agree. I know this is an extremely unpopular opinion, but I'm not a huge fan of marissa..I mean I didn't wish her death lol..but she always brought the drama..and I feel like she caused so much unnecessary shit or did stuff that honestly just felt attention seeking at times..I got kinda sick of her shit by the end of season 1
Do someone know, that "Volchock" is russian word means "wolf"? I saw show near 10 years ago and don't remember...Is Volchock foreigner or something like that? Never get why he had so strange name:)
This just pisses me off I wish that they threw another badass girl in the show to steal Volchoks heart instead of killing the chick off and sending Volchok to prison...not the best way to end it.
Volcheck is the burden of a reckless youth that feels entitled to the apathy of consequences. “He just doesn’t care anymore”, so it’s not his fault anymore? Nope, that is not how life works, the rest of us will use our collective strength to impose OUR will over YOUR ignorance. If you play with matches, then don’t act like Fire is a miraculous nightmare that accidentally ruined your life. Meanwhile, after the funerals and reconstruction efforts are over, You are suddenly absolved of accountability because you finally discovered GUILT? Maybe just maybe, you can collectively spare the rest of us the burden of your existence and find an adequate solution to your very specific and inherent problem of being a narcissistic asshole that still runs from accountability faster than Speedy Gonzalez???????????? Enjoy tonguing Hitler & Stalin’s cornholes, too bad they ran out of condiments but I hear the fudge is fresh!!!! 👿👾👺🤡💩😈👹🎃💀
I always thought season 3 was the worse but I missed a lot of it because of work.Just finished the first 3.Season 3 was better than 2 to me.2 started out ok but then the different relationships and all that crap.Zack was good.Lindsay was annoying.I guess Alex was ok.I didn’t like her as much as I did the first time around and DJ though a short timer was a real stand up dude.It picked up when Trey came in.Watching season 3 from beginning to end.A lot of the story was eh.It was good seeing Anna.Johnny started out good then got bizarre but the good plot of season 3 was all about Marissa. You could see how she would be going through the things she was going through and the changes and ups and down of the season for her. That part I saw and thought I can actually see somebody really dealing with shit like this.Though she was a core character and people missed her if you really look at it for how they did it,she was the best written character of the season.Season 4 was ok because it was the end.It was light hearted and was a good note to end on,they couldn’t have done 2 seasons or continued writing the show that way.All around 2-4 are passable because you already love the characters. Its average. Some good moments and something’s that are like”What the he’ll is this”Like Ryan and Johnny’s cousin, that was completely random.Seth funny as always.I have said before you can just watch season 1 and that’s all you need to see, that was great. If you want season 1 with a happy ending just watch the Season 1 then the first ep of season 2 and stop.lol
this and the the first epi you mention Marissa then its like she never was that SUCKES the biggest misstake the writers did was killing her of and a iknw Mischa wanted to leave the show the should just have made it better then they did the really KILLED the show with Marissan Death but hey maybe thats what they wanted.
@xBl00dBrothersX by the way the writters didnt want marissa to die she quit the show because she was tired of being know as "the OC girl." and so she was gonna move on and do other movies but she has yet to do soo:) i wish she would stayed!!
You know I would have liked to know what charge Kevin got here would have been manslaughter or second-degree murder also leaving the scene of a crime as well I guess it's very interesting open-ended thing there
I'll take a stab at it since my career is criminal defense. I'm in a different state, but in Georgia, he would be charged with First Degree Homicide by Vehicle, Felony Hit and Run (leaving the scene of an accident/failure to report an accident which resulted in death), and Voluntary Manslaughter. DUI and Reckless Driving would have been lesser included offenses (of the Homicide by Vehicle) so those charges wouldn't stick. Georgia does not distinguish murder by 1st/2nd/3rd degrees. It only has malice murder and felony murder, so under Georgia law, Volchok would not be charged with murder, but in California, he would probably also be charged with 2nd degree murder. Volchok's defense attorney would have probably fought to reduce the Voluntary Manslaughter to Involuntary Manslaughter, and to nolle prosse the 2nd Degree Murder charge. His criminal history would determine how much time he'd end up doing (probably via a plea bargain).
Volchok was my absolute most-hated character of the entire show. More than Oliver, more than Johnny (I actually never hated Johnny as much as some people did, but I can see why they thought he was annoying).
I wouldn't. Because I would of done the same thing that Volchok did. Because he isn't the one that killed Marissa because obviously Ryan couldn't drive all that well without crashing it.
It would be cool if they made an Oc reunion and Volchok made it out of prison after 10 years and he came back to try and ruin Ryan's life again and in the end Ryan finally kills him.
+Smithy07sham vol check redeemed himself. he admitted his wrong and is cursed by his actions. he accepted responsibility be cause he couldn't handle the guilt. he's accepted and atoned for his sins
You can blame Volchock all you want, but it was very clear that Marissa was going to die no matter what. In the season 4 Christmas episode, Ryan wished he never came to Newport . It was later revealed in that episode that Marissa died of a drug overdose in Mexico ( similar to 1x07) . Therefore, her death was always meant to be. In past episodes, her character was always troubled and self destructive. So it wouldn’t matter if volchok was in Marissa’s life , cuz she would’ve died either way.
Not sorry for marissa ever but for ryan he loved her whole heartedly and never looked at other girl ever even any girl give her a line not like marissa who go after every boy who she knews love her😖😖really felt sad for johny..she just played with boys feelings...i love u ryan she never deserved u
So Marissa is in control of Johny’s feelings? Ryan was hanging out with another girl before breaking with her over the phone. Stop acting like he was getting abused. His brother almost raped her and his first decision was to go and commit manslaughter on him. Marissa had to save his life and almost ruin her entire future and reputation by shooting Trey. What an idiotic comment.
I am interested in what nationality he is supposed to be... the spelling Volchok sounds very Russian, but if anything it is a Russified Ukrainian name. 'Chuk', 'Chek' or 'enko' in a last name is a really clear indication that someone is Ukrainian by heritage. Of course, it would never be spelled 'chok' unless it was Russian, the same way people with 'sky' in their names are a Russified version of the Polish 'ski'. Anyways... the begging of his name 'Vol' most likely means Bison/Bull/Cow. It could also mean freedom but the former is more likely. My best guess would be that it is a Russified Ukrainian name that means someone who is a farmer of bison/cows. Since he is blond it's also more likely he is Ukrainian rather than Russian because a far bigger percentage of West-Ukraine is blond than even the White/European segment of Russia.
the story was supposed to have a happy ending. Marissa (the rich troubled girl) and Volchock (the poor troubled guy) should've stayed together... but nooo, the writer of the O.C. thought the girl should die and the guy should be the one to kill her ... so stupid... way to ruin a great show.... Thanks for uploading this scene! Thank yoU!
Yeah.Esp of you binge it.Their relationship is real annoying and you realize Oliver was right. That they were never ment to be together and how easy it was to break them up.Marissa attraction to fucked up dudes was her undoing
Y'all are sleeping on season 4. Controversial.. but it's one if my favourite seasons. Love the character dynamics, more comedy/light-hearted and lastly, no more "Marissa show". Yes, she was great, but the show revolved around her soooo much. Try season 4 again!!
Would preferred he beat him to death and spend the last season of him in prison while sandy tried to get him out better than the last season they had. The ending of the o.c was good though
Wow...what a surprise...3 episodes leading up to...guess what??? Ryan punching Volchok in the face! Can't the writers switch it up for once? And on top of that, the cops are just totally cool with Ryan breaking and entering and then assaulting the guy? Just makes no sense. Also why couldn't Sandy wait just more day until he was in jail for Ryan to see him? This show gets me so frustrated at times, I have to pull myself back into reality. Nothing frustrated me more, however, than Marissa's falling for like every guy she meets, especially the hurt puppy types. And her excuses that she made to Ryan blowing him off to hang with Johnny were ridiculous. She kept saying that she couldn't talk to Ryan because Johnny just understood where she was coming from when Ryan kept trying to Talk to her and she shut him out. It's like she learned nothing from the entire Oliver situation. SMH Marissa! I'm glad she wasn't in season four, I couldn't take any more of her bullshit.

She did it before, with Luke. She new he was kinda badass back then (before he changed) and it somehow attracts her even if she doesn't know whether it's just badass or evil.
I miss this show
the best penalty for volchok is, that ryan didn´t kill him!
Kinda irrelevant since Mischa Barton was leaving the show, so they HAD to write her off the show. The execs made sure she couldnt return because she pissed them off. Biggest mistake of her career.
cklambo she doesn't seem to have been able to keep her life in balance while working on that show at that time. Hard to call it a "mistake".
She gained weight but not work
This was genuinely the last good episode of season 4. Except for Frank's revelation and the last two episodes.
TokyoKazama I agree the majority of S4 felt too different after this ep.
Good part of s4 was Ryan being happy again with taylor
@@aubreyrachel8090 that's true! The first couple of episode and the last were in OC style...the others had a very strange storyline!
Volchok was in S3 and that wasn't awful.
The show should have ended at this episode this was the way it's supposed to be. Taylor and Ryan was forced and I hated how they completely changed Ryan's character to be with her. For me episode 3 of S4 it's the best ending.
Such a sad scene..I wish they didn't kill Marissa off, season 4 was not the same as the other seasons..
The scene shows why Cam ended up being the most successful out of all the other young actors on the show.
Pratt was fucking hilarious on this season
Olivia Wilde says Hi
You wrote this before Chris Pratt because Star Lord, not to mention his roles in Jurassic Park. Also Ben McKenzie (aka Ryan) is very successful too.
actually ben mckenzie is pretty successful too
Adam getting that way with Shazam now.
I recognize that actor from Never Back Down, Pandorum & Twilight. Even though I watched the o.c. back in the day i didn't remember him or recognize him from it.
Twilight with his character James and that death they gave him was the writer’s revenge for Volchek.
She never wanted to be in movies or shows after this. She just wanted to stick to a modeling career plus there were feelings for Adam (Seth) and her and Rachel (summer) really didn't get along. I think she was being consumed by her character and she was feeling lost and depressed with everything. She hasn't done anything with modeling, stayed in touch with anyone, and secretly regrets leaving or showing any signs that "she" wasn't working.
i love marissa and Ryan
Volchok wasnt really a villian just a jealous dude, alot of people thought in season 1 luke was a villian but turned out to be a good friend to ryan, volchok could of been a friend to ryan as well except his ego got in the way
Don't compare luke to volchok. Volchok didn't care about marrissa he only used her to get back at Ryan because Ryan was getting close to sadie
Volchok was a jerk he never respected Marissa
It was actually Mischa's decision, or kind of decision. They gave her two options as finish for her character. 1. Marissa's gonna die or 2. she's gonna sailing around the world and that's it.. So she decided to let her character die..
Such a sad scene..I wish they didn't kill Marissa off..I didn't find season 4 the same as all other seasons
I still can't believe how much this show was ruined after Marrissa died. It wouldve been one of the great memorable shows on tv. But instead Ryan ends up with Taylor?? It should've been Marrissa and Ryan in the end together :(
Biggest travesty in tv history to me
its 2020 marissas death still piss me off
It piss me off to still remember she died on the show
Eh no it shouldn't why the fuck should ryan be with marrissa her character was fucking shite and was always miserable.
Cam Gigandet was so beautiful back then.
ik a lot of people hated Marissa dying and say that's what ruined season 4 but I think they could have done the whole Marissa dying thing better like made it sadder and not only have the grief of the main characters who were affected by her death last for literally only 3 episodes. This season should have revolved more around her death. It's sad how they don't really show that after Volchok gets caught
No it would have been too sad for too long.
Where this beautiful show should be finish
Sandy is so cool
Live a looking life,volcheck!!!!
mischa barton was the one who wanted to leave the show, the writer had no other choice but killing her. mischa was the one who wanted to leave the show because he had other projects ...
She was about to go to Hawaii with her dad, they could choose that option instead of killing her.
Is that the bartender from Burlesque
youmustbeoutta yourmind43 thank you! Been trying to place him.
And the dickhead boyfriend in Never Back Down
Uh you guys forgot he's the vampire from the first twlight that tried to kill Bella
Yes
And the boyfriend from East A
His bloody nose just magically wasnt bloody anymore.
I wish there where another way they could write Marissa out, instead of she had to die, i mean she was still there in the end, and she was leaving any way, so i don´t see why she had to die?
toally agree ,boat trip for a year ,written ,what was reason for killing her off.permanently.
totally agree would like to know she is doings well
doug szymanik Micha Barton wanted to be written out of the show in a way that she couldn't come back. So she requested for her character to be killed off
is that marissa real name ,sad ,they need a sequel ,a lawyer adoption agency.
Yeah they really do and yes that's her real name
Sandy knew Ryan needed the closure, and all he wanted was to see his son finally start moving forward past this tragedy.
It might be just me but i would not have been mad at ryan for killing volchek 🤷🏾♀️
If marissa had not died, the show had become boring ... Ryan and Marissa had followed the cycle of fighting, break, return, ... and the series had become a little boring ..
I actually kinda liked the way the show was without Marissas b.s ruining everything after, it was such a crutch that the writers relied on.
Ever thought of actually instead of throwing her character towards the fire and not giving her any development but actually writing her character to have redemption and grow would be better? The writers were just incompetent. That decision killed the show. Season 4 became a Parody.
anyone knows the piano song in the background in 2:15 please??
Hey... me too after the piano song or score since many years ... if u got it please let me know
Ryan por mas que dijera que marissa ya no era su novia, se involucro hasta el ultimo minuto, diciendole a volchok qe la cuidara, y hasta yendo a buscar la plata.. claramente tenia bronca acumulada , y fue solo por el.
This first half of the season was about redemption.
Here 13 years later
this shouldn't have come to a head so fast in the season. it needed to be drawn out
would’ve been nicer around the end of the season to truly wrap up all loose ends of the series
@xBl00dBrothersX You're welcome, and the comment is much appreciated.
The only worthy Arc of season 4 Ryan getting revenge on Volchuck but after that this season was a dumpster fire.
yes I've been told my several UA-camrs that the chick didn't want to be in the show anymore and had to be "killed." So unfortunate!
I wanted Ryan And Marissa together :c
"It was all an accident. A mistake." :(
Volcheck is the burden of a reckless youth that feels entitled to the apathy of consequences.
That dude acts the same in everything hes in, the mma , pandorum ,this
Che bella marissa e figo Ryan
If you want season 1 with a happy ending just watch the Season 1 then the first ep of season 2 and stop.lol
my heart 😢😢😢😢😢
Celine Miyah you’re so beautiful
I heard it was actually Mischa Barton's idea.
this and the the first epi you mention Marissa then its like she never was that SUCKES the biggest misstake the writers did was killing her of and a iknw Mischa wanted to leave the show the should just have made it better then they did the really KILLED the show with Marissan Death but hey maybe thats what they wanted.
Am i the only one guy here that likes volshok? xD
Was Ryan's mother, Dawn, in Season 4 at all?
Also, did they ever show Jimmy Cooper's reaction to Marissa's death?
WHO is that SEXY actor
playing as Volchok!? HOT😊
he looks familiar 🤔....
It also caused season 5 not to happen.
Ryan is like baby Russell Crowe
The show died without Marissa...well deserved tbh
POV 2021: Volchok and Heather had a kid, Ryan takes him in the same way Sandy took him in......😀
MMMMMM WATCHA SAAAYYYYYY!!!?!?!!!!
I love that song!
Mischa Barton decided to kill her own character
Volchok was my absolute most-hated character of the entire show. More than Oliver, more than Johnny (I actually never hated Johnny as much as some people did, but I can see why they thought he was annoying).
I have a theory on what happened to Volcheck
Ryan only had tears for marissa and she didnt ever valued ryan...
Didn’t value him but saved his life before twice. Yeah sure.
Pray for him
Thom yorke doing it again
yep
I'm not sure. It's one of the many melodies created for the show, but they don't have names and you can't get them anywhere :(
I would of done the same thing if I find out someone hurt a loved one I cared about.
I wouldn't. Because I would of done the same thing that Volchok did. Because he isn't the one that killed Marissa because obviously Ryan couldn't drive all that well without crashing it.
It would be cool if they made an Oc reunion and Volchok made it out of prison after 10 years and he came back to try and ruin Ryan's life again and in the end Ryan finally kills him.
that's so stupid
+daniel ha cry more.
+Smithy07sham vol check redeemed himself. he admitted his wrong and is cursed by his actions. he accepted responsibility be cause he couldn't handle the guilt. he's accepted and atoned for his sins
its better hv a new stories tht similar to the old one, O.C 2
😂😂😂 lmfaoz
why his eyebrows hella done tho? lol
❤
Eine der traurigsten stellen
Song 3:56 pls
This kind of sounds like Thom Yorke - Black Swan but I'm not 100 percent sure.
btw can someone tell me which episode this is again from season 4?
You can blame Volchock all you want, but it was very clear that Marissa was going to die no matter what. In the season 4 Christmas episode, Ryan wished he never came to Newport . It was later revealed in that episode that Marissa died of a drug overdose in Mexico ( similar to 1x07) . Therefore, her death was always meant to be. In past episodes, her character was always troubled and self destructive. So it wouldn’t matter if volchok was in Marissa’s life , cuz she would’ve died either way.
noo the actress that makes of marissa didnt want to be in the show anymore so thats why she killed marissa
marissa and ryan needed to go their seperate ways....but either way- the show was gonna suck going forward.
Proud of Ryan, yeah season 4, waz kinda boring yes.. but Taylor coming in was the right move..
Not sorry for marissa ever but for ryan he loved her whole heartedly and never looked at other girl ever even any girl give her a line not like marissa who go after every boy who she knews love her😖😖really felt sad for johny..she just played with boys feelings...i love u ryan she never deserved u
lmao your comment is killing me
So Marissa is in control of Johny’s feelings?
Thank yoU!
I love this show but it did get kinda boring with the whole ryan and marissa off and on thing...what of the best show of the 2000s
Yeah.Esp of you binge it.Their relationship is real annoying and you realize Oliver was right. That they were never ment to be together and how easy it was to break them up.Marissa attraction to fucked up dudes was her undoing
And wacha sayyyy ???
Bru Alexand This is not the whatcha say scene, the right one is when marissa shot trey, and sorry for my bad English lol
If you're over analysing and judging things that you watch all the time you don't leave space for enjoyment and understanding :)
