In a way this shows the culture that was prevalent in the OC where everyone had to conform. If you didn't conform, you were treated like an outsider. This is why Seth had no friends, because he was different just like Ryan who was immediately rejected when people found out that he was from Chino. They became best friends because they could relate to each other. Like Sandy said everyone had secrets they knew they had to hide in order to fit in and be accepted(Julie, Jimmy, Luke's dad,...). This is why I love this show so much. It has so much depth. It was so different and did I mention the music? They made us fall in love with the characters and in a way we all got to experiece this world in the eyes of Ryan the moment he and Sandy drove to the OC.

Yes, I knew about that. That would have been awesome, but I am so used to Ben playing Ryan that I can't imagine anyone else playing Ryan. I also think he is a really good actor. They are both really talented. Chad was perfect as Lucas on OTH and I loved him in all the movies he was in. I guess in the end they both got the roles that were right for them.
