    How would you recommend someone just starting out...

    • @zod-engineering-welding
      @zod-engineering-welding 8 місяців тому

      The most important thing is good form. Regular push-up's if you are able to, and if not, then use your knees, and don't flare your elbows out too much. 45-deg out from your body and no more. Keep your core straight. Once you feel "the shakes" and start to lose form, stop. Rest 2-3 min and reset. What ever number of reps it takes you to get "the shakes", do 2 less than that. You'll be able to do more sets this way by staying away from failure on the sets. This in turn will get you used to keeping good form on each and every rep.

    • @stevenscott2136
      @stevenscott2136 Рік тому +1

      By "low" do you mean "almost lying on the floor"? In that case, yes, perfectly normal. Try a higher angle to reduce the resistance until you adapt. Also, make sure you're pulling your elbows back to use the lats, and not just pulling the hands toward the chest, which is bicep-focused and thus weaker.

      You need to slightly engage your full body to make it stiff like a plank. Doesn't mean squeeze every muscle group super tightly, just engage your whole body enough that you do not have flexion where you don't want flexion. If it's your feet that are moving around at the ankles, well then just squeeze your lower legs just enough so that it doesnt happen.
