Yeah it’s funny bc they give so much away if you know the book but I can see how this tells you nothing if you’re a noob. All you know is Paul gets army things go boom.
@@LukeParon I think it will largely depend on the economic success of this film. Dennis has stated he is down, and the actors all seem very enthusiastic about the project (I know Momoa would be stoked to get back out to the desert), so I think it will really come down to whether or not WB sees it as financially viable.
The best trailer I've seen in years, especially the last few scenes: the sandworm, Long live the fighters and nukes. Chills down my spine. We're so lucky we got Denis to make this, so many franchises are destroyed right now by people who don't GAF about them. I hope it is the biggest film of the year!
Love Dune, love the books! So happy that Denis is a true fan of the book and is doing this film adaptation of the book. You can feel his love for the material and the characters. So happy this film is being done in a time when there is such amazing cinematography and brilliance behind the lens. I have never wanted summer and the beginning of fall to disappear and it be November so badly in my life.
Alia still MIA here and I'm very excited how they will portray her, bcs that was honestly the first thing that popped into my head, when I heard they would do a new Dune adaptation. Absolutely stunning trailer thou. 🙂
Spoilers for the first book below I'm thinking they might change the way Alia's awakening works making it so that she also ages faster(either that or make the timeskip in sietch tabr longer), so we can at least have a pre-teen alia killing the baron instead of an actual toddler like in the book
spoiler Alert: that would also work if they ever make Children of Dune for it could be used to show how she is using that Bene Gesserit technique for not ageing. @@esser3410
saw a lot of people saying "Idk how I'd feel about it if I didn't know the book" but dude, we who doesn't know the book... have no idea of what they've shown that could've spoiled something lol
Hey! I'm not sure what specific aspect you worked on, but based off your creature design online, if you came up with "weird double sided Xenonmorph headed person" in the gladiator pit........THANK YOU 😭😭😭
May thy knife NOT chip and shatter! Definitely read all the books here also. Including BH & KJA. Hugely involved and impressed with how this is getting done. And now, it's even confirmed that Dune Messiah will be made into Part 3.
It's hard to strike a balance between honoring the source material, making the book fans happy, and appealing to a wider audience. But by the end of the day, the source material and book fans come first.
Just trying not to get copyrighted haha. I hear ya though for sure. I assumed most people watching my reaction would already know the trailer frame by frame at that point anyway haha
@@LukeParon ahhh I gotcha... everyone else's is working, I don't think they want to ban people doing reactions you're helping the marketing effort. I've seen the trailer at least a dozen times but I wouldn't have mind seeing it again in your reaction video just letting you know
They made same mistake with part 1 of the movie, I think there was 1 teaser and 2 trailers? If you combine all the scenes from those trailers you have 70% of the scenes in WHOLE movie.
Yea but all the American trailers gave off a big action movie blockbuster vibe, but Dune is far from an action movie. Dune part 2 will likely focus a lot on the messianic leadership struggle of Paul and the politics with The Emperium. Yes the action will be there but it won’t be what the movie is all about
I love to watch peoples' reactions to the trailers and the movies. There are 26 books in the series, as you know. The books written by Frank Herbert are: Dune (1965) Dune Messiah (1969) Children of Dune (1976) God Emperor of Dune (1981) Heretics of Dune (1984) Chapterhouse: Dune (1985) The rest of the books in the series were written by Brian Herbert, Frank's son, and Kevin J. Anderson, both science fiction authors in their own right. I'm not saying I'm a Dune fangirl. But, I have all 26 books in paperback form, all of them in ebook form, and all of them in audiobook form. *eye twitches* I detested the Lynch version. Usually people either love or hate that one. The plot wasn't bad but even Patrick Stewart's acting couldn't save that one. The Children of Dune miniseries wasn't perfect, with some of the plot changes, but it was much better than the original Dune. I wish we'd been able to see Jodorosky's version of it. Having said that, I LOVED the first part of this movie. There was a meme going around on Facebook a while back. It encapsulates, for me, the flavor of the entire series, and is in two images. In the first image, a couple is laying in bed and the woman tells the man, "honey, please wake up our son". In the second image, the man is holding the boy and says, "Paul Atreides isn't really a "good guy". Neither is his son, Leto II, or the Bene Gesserit. All the characters in Dune have very serious flaws. With Dune, Frank Herbert is warning the reader of the dangers of charismatic leaders". In the books, there ARE no "good guys", only "some guys better than others". Paul's mother, for example, at one point, murders 10 people at a banquet for political expediency. I started reading science fiction in 1969, after watching the landing on the Moon, and have continued reading both science fiction and fantasy over the last half century. In my opinion, the Dune saga is overall the best series ever written in the science fiction genre, and in the top five of fiction genres in general, which includes: The Hobbit and the LotR trilogy and Silmarillion, by Tolkien The Foreigner series by CJ Cherryh The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson and, finally, The Dark Tower by Stephen King. Thank you for reacting to it!
@@vendora1 I've often wished someone would gather together the sayings in the beginnings of each chapter/book, into separate (tho of course, smaller) books themselves, then combine THAT into one book. Like, "The Apologia of Dune" or "The Chronicles of Arrakis" or something.
Paul's voice in this trailer was amazing
Broooo soo sick
Watched the trailer 3x now and every single time I’ve gotten actually body chills hearing that last speech. God I can’t wait

I like how Timothée kept his voice extremely soft in most scenes. It makes the moments when he hollers all the more impactful.
I know I'm not the only one who shouted "ATOMICS!!!" in their best Patrick Stewart voice...😁
YESSSSSSSSS Thats all I heard as I saw the explosion!
As a non-book reader I have no fkin idea what is happening.
However this looks like the best movie ever made.
cuz it is

6:43 you know that once Paul takes the water of life, the movie’s gonna steamroll to the end! I can’t wait
I really like that there seems to be a decent amount of focus on Chani and Paul’s relationship
That final shot of the Atreides atomics holy shit.
PART 2 WILL BE AMAZING! And then Dune: Messiah to follow 😭😭🙌
If they dont do Messiah after Denis does Rendezvous with Rama...I will be pissed.

Ohhhh MAN

I still think that was her in the black BG outfit when the worm is breaching in the background.
Is that last shot possibly a vision of the Stoneburner from Messiah?
I believe it’s the nuclear blasts on the walls of Arakeen
