This is often considered the main storyline ending for Fear & Hunger due to the lore revelations surrounding it and the major impact it has on the world of the second game. To achieve this ending, you must save the Girl character from her cage in the starting basement area and have her in your party and enter the Gauntlet area through the God of the Depths’ mouth. This area can be accessed by cutting open all 3 of the God of the Depths’ hearts throughout the dungeon. 1 is located in the level 7 catacombs, 1 in the Deeper thicket area, and the last one in the present version of the Golden Temple in Ma’habre which can be accessed by defeating the Tormented One, Valteil the Enlightened One, and the skin Granny which will cause Nilvan the Endless one to give you her soul if you agree to take the Girl to the Bottom of the Gauntlet. We find her wish is due to the Girl being her daughter and Le’garde, the man of prophecy being her father which resulted in her being born with the soul of the Ancient One. After taking her to the bottom of the Gauntlet, we see Nilvan’s true plan as the Girl begins to morph into a monstrous creature ultimately ascending to become the God of Fear & Hunger. After winning the battle, the player is transported to the level of 10 of the dungeon where we come face to face with the realized version of the God of Fear & Hunger where she acknowledges our suffering and gives us a merciful end.
Nilvan’s goal was to create a God that could rival the power of the Old Gods and bring humanity into a new age. We see after the creation of the God of Fear & Hunger, humanity was spurned by their base instinct of fear and kept momentum going forward by their hunger which resulted in them adapting and evolving from the suffering they had endured up to this point. The God of Fear & Hunger came to be worshiped by many in this age as Mankind advanced to the modern world we see in Fear & Hunger 2: Termina, and this period of transition became known as the Cruel Age. We know this ending is Canonical as the God of Fear & Hunger is a god talked about at length in the game’s lore, even though she has since become a more obscure god to many. We even see her referenced in historical works as we can read about her in the 4 Ages of History book which details her creation and influence on humanity during the Cruel Ages.

I appreciate that showing the girl kindness and giving her gifts makes the fight easier as she recalls that you the player were kind to her the entire way there and its such a well placed detail.
The problem is that her life was intentionally miserable. The main key for her ascending was to know no kindness in her life, according to the in-game prophecy. Main Character had all chances to ruin it
The ascending god is stunned by the acts of kindness as they are opposite to it. It needs to purge them first to ascend further
@@fellowspy5312not really? She is supposedly the more benevolent god, BECAUSE we showed her that tiny amount of kindness
@@real_rutmen yes really
She is the god of fear and hunger because she has known fear and hunger all her life, not high and satiety. Hunger and fear are completely negative feelings that remind you to do something to satisfy them. In the game, her influence literally forced people to develop technology further if they didn't want to go extinct. Cults were formed in her honour, these are not good fanatics by any means.
I don't quite understand how, although in the world of monsters, magic and spirits everything is easily explained, but in the game people are very much dependent on the gods, and their departure meant the imminent end of everything. "The god has left us" situation. They needed a new one, the new ones didn't suit them, they were overthrown, the circle loops, more and more people die. But now, instead of gods of love, destruction, knowledge, there is just one, who replaces all of them.
The concepts of fear and hunger are hard to distort in any way, it's all pretty lucid. They push you forward, you do, you survive them. But their opposite meanings are very easy to distort. For example, in the first game we see a group of two people - one engaged in cannibalism, the other in endless coitus. Both escaped death by isolation in bliss and ignoring the fear around them. Eventually they will die from starvation and the fear they ignored all along.
The game world needed exactly some kind of engine, something that would propel them, not to bury them, and given that every god has twisted, out-of-human-perspective mind - the god of fear and hunger sounds... better than the god of joy and satiety
@@fellowspy5312 bro all that to make a point!! nice😁😁👍
"The God of Fear and Hunger acknowledges your suffering..." this is quite powerfull, like the entire fight she was just letting you hit her.
Well as an entity she can't be stopped by the likes of you
What gets me is the fact that you're instantaneously crushed by the god acknowledging your suffering.
She let you hit her so that she can harvest the pain and suffering so she can make her attack. That's why she also does mutilation attacks ass her first 4 attacks
@@cherylpyodeamedha9346 something similiar happens in the grogoroth fight as well, where after you beat him he just kills you anyway because it turns out you aren't even fighting the real thing
Oh Cahara, widely accepted as the character that mainly helped the girl and guided her all the way to the depths while showing kindness and compassion to her, something she never experienced before. The character that actually had the most things to ga back to, a woman she loved who was having a kid who was potentially his own. The whole reason he was even at the dungeon to begin with was to get paid so he can provide for them. And of course it ended with him assisting the girl to ascend to godhood, getting him mercy killed by the god of fear and hunger, and likely forever forgotten(but maybe not forgotten by the god of fear and hunger).
I love this comment. It's exactly how I felt when realizing that Cahara kinda failed at everything.
I like to believe he loot the entire dungeon and left
@@rad3on929 I do a similar thing, but rather than Cahara surviving, I picture Pav the soldier as Cahara's decendant. Both being thots it seems fitting lol
@@johnnemo5793 I also have seen a large chunk of people agreeing that Daan is atleast somewhat related to Cahara, and i can see why
@@rad3on929Isn’t that the ending S for the mercenary guy? Even though he went back to his loved ones with all the wealth he could ask for, enough for them to live a worry not life, there was something wrong with his surviving the dungeon to the point that even he could feel it. The dungeon lured its prey with empty promises while taking away everything from them, even if you live through it all, there are still parts of you trapped forever in the dungeon. It sounds suck but him accepting his fate and earning his well rest under the hands of a god who adored him is somewhat comforting. His family may be sad over his demise for a while but they will live through it with everything he left behind knowing he died for a chance to give them a better life.
I love how ending a is literallly just “The real fear and hunger were the friends we made along the way”
Honestly, yeah. Truly is a horror beyond comprehension.
The thought of cahara venturing through the dungeons of fear and hunger and facing countless nightmare inducing horrors and life threatening injuries only for the only friend he had in the dungeons to transform into a horrifying new god in a dark abyss covered in corpses and kill him is so terrifying and tragic
This was the most memorable fhunger moment for me. Those last scenes after her bossfight were amazing.
She got too Fungry growing up in the dungeons 😔✊️
Dungeon life ain't polite to nobody
Funger got to her 😞
How did she even
Fellas,
This might be the true Fear of the Hunger that we've been looking for all along..
Maybe the god of fear and hunger were the friends we made along the way
@@BusinessCat8210maybe the fear was the hunger we felt along the way 🧌
So, The God of Fear and Hunger was born from that Ancient Soul that was inside her? So whatever instinct or spirit of hers remained would either defend player or do nothing. We can see her old skin that twists and turns, until it is completely dissipated on the end scene, representing what she is: A mortal shell to an ancient God soul. Perhaps the kindness given to her also changed how God perceived humanity?
it's exactly that that made her want to help humanity progress instead of keeping them trapped in the dark ages, like how the old gods did.
@@fruityTart27 If only she came to that conclusion before killing Cahara, he didn't deserve this fate
GOFAH is not the Girl. The game is quite clear about this: "You feel an entirely new presence" followed by "The god of fear and hunger is born...". The Girl is more of a past life to GOFAH, albeit one that just ended and that GOFAH vividly remembers.
The reason she attacks the player is for representing the single greatest impurity in her ascension process. All that she knows that isn't fear & hunger comes from the player. She skips a turn when seeing the doll and the dagger, but really what does this mean? It means that impurities that are in complete opposition to what she embodies manage to stun a god. In the ending sequence, the game tells you that giving you a peaceful death represented her last traces of humanity, which she (had to) shed before her "true ascension". You might have been the caring parent of the Girl - but to GOFAH - you are basically kryptonite, she must eliminate you.
this is excellent! i’ve never even thought to look at it in that way😮
Yasss queen slay……. 🙄
How lame
Would that mean the GOFAH always existed and the girls soul was just a catalyst for it to fully be realized meaning her sense of self or soul is completely replaced or just remodeled
Sorry if this sounds weird this is my understanding of of what you said I never played the game and I want to play it
C-can you explain to someone why the God of Fear and Hunger attacked us but, more simply please?
@@sansnatalicio7943the god represents fear and hunger. We gave the little girl safety and food. Because of that, we must die.
Tears me up every time
Also when she's became god of Fear and Hunger she became a Scarecrow as FU to the god of the depth
"There's beaty in this Darkness that can be harness and used to usher something new..."
so you beat the fear and hunger in battle but after the cutscene all your limbs are lost
She morphs into a more unhinged and deformed human form in each phase, 'till the end looking like a uterus + fallopian tubes IMHO
The 2nd phase looks like a Greek statue, and the last one is a Silent Hill creature "Gluttony"
I think it’s nice that multiple of the potential endings turned out to be canon for the sequel. I can’t think of very many game series that have done that
I'm played the game and saw the prison guards dingal berry so I'm closed it before my mom saw
I love your comment
There is a mod avilable that censors ałl dongs in game
So what you're saying is some god spawned in a dungeon and now i have to get up at 6am for eork every morning now?
YOU TOOK THE EASY WAY OUT CAHARA!
You won, but at what cost...
"Everything.
The cost was everything..."
I still have *no* idea what her last stage is supposed to be. Like, physically. I don't know what it's supposed to look like
A scarecrow if i were to guess, that’s what alot of other people also guessed
Imagine if Jesus, while being crucified, and virgin Mary got merged in a horrific teleporter accident.
Its face makes me think of an extremely old man/woman combined with a stone statue body like some kind of totem, with Divinity Halo over their head. The parts going over over the shoulder seem like religious vestments.
@@gront5172 Scarecrows do represent both fear and hunger, meant to deter avian pests from fields.
So in a way, she's a "scarecrow" for humanity. Inspiring both fear and representing an inability to feed themselves.
It's always been my best guess, after reading about what the God of Fear and Hunger is.
I think in a way. This god helped propel humanity forward despite the horrors of the world. Dulling the fear and giving the hunger to strive.
All of the old gods except, Sylvian being the creator of all humans, were pure representations of achievements humans strive for, or atrocities humans cause, or ideals and concepts humans hold... but a God of "Fear" AND "hunger". Two things all living creatures have until the moment they die. and I doubt it just means "fear" as in being afraid, nor "hunger" as in needing to eat. She represents both in every context they could possibly mean. Like fear of change, or a hunger for knowledge.
That fly was 100% paid by Blizzard.
The fear and hunger goddess Fourth form which has lots hand remembered me to face of Stanley Stoner Drunk meme
Fear and Hunger become guide for survival.
I'm so intrigued with your channel regarding Fear & Hunger, it is so entertaining to watch
But one question I always have in mind is,
Why did Cahara send the girl into the depths become a god and get killed? Why not just escape from it and let a girl live a normal life and Cahara found treasure and left?
I don't think they went there on purpose it was most likely just a coincidence that happened
He accepted the demand from Nilvan, who gave him her soul as a price
Alright, we got a girl.. mm.. probably is not that bad, right? Is a little girl on this hellish fortress
*After reaching the depths*
.... WHAT YOU MEAN SHE BECOMES INTO THAT THING
I really hope a 3rd is made.
Hello? 911? My child is going sicko mode. What do i do?
Fear and hungah
What kinda design is that ? Fear and hunger looks more like a scarecrow.
scaring crows aka fear and starving them aka hunger
@dragonmarroc9607 ohh makes sense. But was expecting a gothic boss of fear and hunger. Skinny and goth. Skinny depicting hunger and goth fo fear. With dried innards falling out.
Bro is down bad fr
@@shanebluesky7452 that's basically what the Flesh Golem born from Le'Garde's remains is- who ironically refers to himself as the "True God of Fear & Hunger" due to the torture he endured in the dungeon before discarding his flesh.
So she can scare the Crows hunters from the game.
I wonder what comes after the age of tech, and the machine god 🤔
White people
Its consider the the true ending because a lot of players cant do an S ending
Never helping or being nice to that girl
Again. Straight into the flesh ball.😑
You can alsocgive her to Pocketcat for a nice Claymore.
Though the Girl can't really be blamed for what happened to her and the God of Fear and Hunger isn't "evil" persay
Mankind would return to stone age if you do that
@@rad3on929 Seeing how the world is in Termina that might be a good thing. Lol
@@elathicc6811Oh hey, it's the "degenerate furry" guy, Pocketcat. He's weird.
The girl no longer exists when she turns into the god of fear and hunger, when she does not see hunger and fear in you she considers you an enemy
This games lore is so confusing and convoluted
Background OST?
it is a main story ending
so in the end we cant defeat god fear and hunger
she becomes equal in standing with the rest of the old gods, whom none of them we defeat, just resisted long enough that they got bored.
@@fruityTart27 The Old Gods we face are also not even really them, just...traces left behind. Even Rher's boss fight is just a trace in Termina.
What if the dungeon is like a Schrödinger's cat box? Basically a domain where every possible scenario happens and doesn't happen at the same time and these scenarios could still have a real effect on the world outside
There's at least some indications that multiple endings occurred. Like Ragnvaldr's ending as the "God of Ultraviolence", and his implied descendant in Termina...something made even more likely by August's hatred for Le'garde.
And the fact that Le'garde has his New God form, as well.
Name of the game?
Fear & Hunger
@@ShinerCCC thanks buddy
@@tanibamang7649Good luck
Feah and hungah
Donut.
To me the one who achieved ending A is cahara
Yeah it’s definitely him, Enki is still around in the second game, D’arce revived Le’Garde with the ghoul ritual, and Ragnvaldr killed every monster after killing Le’Garde himself and proceed to do the same thing in his home town
D
No she gives birth to the God

@@thebean6496 the little girl becomes the God of Yass queen slay that need no man or Darce to be the god of the new world, the author writes a bunch of crappy ennui laced poetry as you crawl without legs before the girl kills you to justify the sadmasochist cuckold ending that he wrote, overall I think it’s very lame and cucked and devoid of any real bite as shown by how I’m ignoring all the occult and fantasy elements to criticize the liberal and limp wristed giggles the author has throughout the games narrative
