- Hi guys, welcome to another film by antiquesarena, in this film I had just bought in a mixed job lot of items, there was some amazing jewellery which I will film in another film for you, there was a few other bit’s the old dolls etc but in the whole mess was a vintage 1953 coronation money box , old post office moneybox, well I tried to be patent and wait for someone to open it for me but I lasted about a minute lol, I had to break in to it to see what coins where inside, you never know in these you can have shillings , sovereigns and more so you cant ever sell anything with out knowing what is inside. Well I break in to this one and show you what I find.

Hi there. Thanks for showing us what was in the money box. I bet a lot of that money cannot be used as currency due to age. I am not used to currency becoming obsolete. In the US, you can spend any bill or coin regardless of the age. Just by chance the other day, I thought that I heard that the one pound coin was changing, so I checked online, and it was the 5 pound note that had expired in March 2018. I hurried to a money changing service, and they gave me new bills, thank goodness! But I also found out that the 10 pound note had expired in 2017. I got those notes changed out too. Otherwise, the website told me that I would have to go to a bank in central London to get the bills exchanged ---or mail them in. How crazy! So glad that God gave me a nudge to check them out!!!!
Hi Hun, Thank you very much for your comment, we can still bank old money here, we take it to any bank and they send it off to be credited to our bank accounts, the pound coin changed also, our new 1 pound coin looks like the old brass 3 pence coin now, they are also changing the 20 pound notes soon lol. the money box film was a bit of fun, i loved the excitement of looking and not knowing what is inside,

i didnt have a cod bottle did i lol. there were to standard bottles and a torpedo bottle mate i think lol

Why not pick the lock rather than destroy the money box ?
Hello nick. Not quite sure how I feel about being called a bull or an idiot. If I remember right I did say in the video someone had already damaged the money box. However even if they hadn’t it makes perfect sense to pay a locksmith £60 to pick a £10 money box. Why didn’t I think of that
