This video is extremely helpful. Thanks for sharing.
These kind of videos are super useful! May have to get one of those cold shoe mount/arms now.
Thank you for sharing this, my husband just bought me one and having a hard time connecting as it is covering the input, will look into a longer cord and keep playing with it
I’d love to see that desk Setup! Need to make something like that.
Thanks, Blake, my brother! :)
Very good. Thank you so much 😊
Thank you so much for sharing! Super informative video creation congratulations too! Good day!
👍🍀🇭🇺🌞☝️
Great tip! Haha wouldn’t thought of flipping the phone honestly 😅
Thanks, really usefull info for me, but i guess it depend on the gimbal too, there were a some case, we shift the phone to the left to make some room for, say, wireless mic receiver, but the phone out of balance (of course) and the gimbal's arm can not compensate enough like what you done in this video. We trying to adjust the arm to max, but the phone still a little (relatively) out of balance. Total weight of the phone plus its accessories were ok, but we can not balance the phone, sadly.
Good video
keep it up..
A Ulanzi PT3 mounted on the bottom of a gimbal will take care of a lot of these mounting problems.
Thanks for sharing, I tried that with the DJI osmo , it really struggled with my iPhone 14Pro max.. I’m thinking bigger gimbal
Thank you for the upload, sir,
For able to do that I guess we need a heavy-duty gimbal,
Likely the best solution if you’re adding accessories especially.
@@iphoneographers g6 max seems promising for me ,
It’s very good one I use all the time.
Great, this was a question I had as well. With the Moza, when you had the phone flipped you a tele lens, would it work with an anamorphic lens and a 67mm nd filter? Didn't look like there was enough space for something like that (unless you go with the first option).
It would work with an anamorphic but likely not with a filter not enough space.
When you plug in the mic with the adapter, does Filmic Pro then show the source as "external mic"? I tried to connect my Wireless GO to my iPhone 12 Pro Max with the Rode SC15 cable, and my iPhone said that the Wireless GO required too much power.
It says EXT when an external mic is connected.
Have not had any issues using the Rode Go II and the SC15 with the 12 Pro Max... Was the battery dead? Technically you’re not connecting it for power you’re just getting sound through the cable. That’s one I haven’t encountered yet. Has worked fine.
Save yourselves even more space by doing away with stands and bars etc etc. Cheap and simple solution is fit hand rail to ceiling (like scaffold) and then you can hang and mount what ever you need
Yeah and I do that in some places but this set up is portable as well. Has wheels and so it’s multi functional.
Great video. Since it’s a year old I wonder if you can shed some light on any new gimbal set ups that you like. I am using an iPhone 13 Pro with Moment anamorphic lenses, 67 mm ND filters and DJI Mic. Curious what New latest greatest gimbals you would recommend. Mounting the mic transmitter seems to be one of the bigger factors.
My favorite heavier duty gimbal is the Crane M3… ua-cam.com/video/S304iLKg0kE/v-deo.html and for semi heavy setups I like the Smooth 5 ua-cam.com/video/vHsypfyr-jk/v-deo.html. I’ve got a playlist on the main channel about gimbals that you might check out as well. Thanks for watching!
Q: I have a new insta360 Flow gimbal to use with my iPhone 12pm and use a Fulaim X5 wireless lav. I often find that the sound quality is v poor if using the Insta360 camera app but fine with either the default camera app or CinemaP3 app. It’s almost as if the Insta360 app is using the iPhone’s mic rather than the Fulaim.
Any ideas? The Insta360 app has no sound/mic settings and no volume meter.
Could i please ask for a link for that adaptater to plug the mic to the iPhone?
Believe it’s this one amzn.to/3knktzk.
The big question for me though is can you do it with a stereo mic? (The dongle for the Iphone converts stereo to mono), and can you do it so that there's no handling noise on the gimbal (when you shift your hands as you are walking)
As long as your hand doesn’t bump the mic there’s no issue. These shotgun mics have shock mounts so that obviously helps.
You can do stereo (or split track) with certain mics that have a stereo DAC Lightning connector, but not with the standard TRRS to Lightning adapter as you mentioned.
@@iphoneographers Oh I think I love you - you might just have solved my issue!
I've spent weeks looking for a solution but the i-phone dongle cable had been turning everything mono on me!!
Do you think you could put the DJI wireless mic receiver directly in an iPhone on the gimbal (no cables)?
Sure, I haven’t done that myself I don’t own that setup but it could work.
Please help I have a sony a7c camera with the RSC 2 gimbal... I need a mic for my camera that i can use with my gimbal, but I dont want it to be too top heavy and it has to work
Might look at the Sennheiser MKE 200 here amzn.to/3nNQIc5 or that new Rode VideoMic Go 2 looks good geni.us/VZJffV. Both of these are small & lightweight.
Blae, folks should also know that if you intend to use a lightning adapter that you will need a TRRS plug into it. I struggled for a half-hour with my Rode Go getting it to work with my iPhone 12 Pro until I remembered that; a TRS plug will not work with a Lightning adapter.
Yes that is true… Rode supplies the proper SC7 TRS to TRRS cable in the kit, which is great. The version 2 of those mics doesn’t require that anymore you can use their SC15 for a direct connection, no adapter needed.
Would you recommend this gimbal over the dji om 4 for shooting real estate videos? I'm starting a channel centered around real estate investing.
For larger phones, yes, and/or for adding accessories like filters or lights or mics. The OM 4 is good though for basic setups.
@@iphoneographers Thanks. The only thing I worry about is the customer service.
The gimbals made by Benro have a mic input, should I buy it ??
That’s a nice feature, and I’ve seen that on some gimbals, but I’ve never used one from Benro, so not sure.
I wanna buy gimbal soon🥺 huhu
Brother is this mini arm available in the markets???
This one? amzn.to/39aSMlM
What is that at the bottom that you have holding the mic?
Probably a magic arm, should have most gear links in the video description.
First!!!
My gimbal can’t do the reverse way as isn’t balanced stuff is in front of the phone and blocking the camera
I wonder what would happen if you offset the phone by placing a spacer between the phone clamp and the back of the phone. This will "bump" the phone closer to your knuckles but will push the phone's bottom ports past the elbow portion of the gimbal, thus opening the lightening port. At exactly 1:20, I imagine a square block placed between the back of the phone and that spring loaded clamp and you'd be able to open up the bottom ports of any phone.
Yeah, there are definitely ways to rig it really depending on the gimbal and the size of the setup.
@@iphoneographers First, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my comment! I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max which I plan to pair with a Zhiyun Smooth 5. I have a wedding I'm filming B-roll and will run a dual Bluetooth mic which connects via the lightening port (check Amazon; under 50 USD) and will have the phone as naked as possible. I'm trying to come up with other gimbal solutions under 200 USD which will hold the weight of my iPhone 13 Pro Max and the lightening port Blue tooth microphone receiver. Any thoughts?
V-script pro? didnt see a link
But the mic is too low and you hold the handle at an angle pointing the mic away from the subject so the mic at the bottom is a terrible idea
Holy Cow, my name is Also Calhoun.
But I'm black. Soooooo? Irish and black History though.
Great name!
@@iphoneographers thanks. Liked, subbed..
