Hey Jordan I’m wondering why I can’t download a video I did on my GoPro into my phone from the quilk app? It says “your device is isn’t compatible with the format of the video” and when I do download the video it’s very laggy.
Thanks for this video. I do have one basic question. I have a GoPro subscription. When I click the Media tab in Quik, I see App, Cloud, and Phone across the top. I select App and choose one video. I want to upload that one video to the GoPro cloud, but there's no option for that. What's going on? I had my iPad set to upload everything to the cloud, but I quickly turned that off. I just want to upload specific media after I've edited them, but there seems to be no direct way to do this.
Not sure if you figured out what is going on but I think you have it backwards. When you connect your camera, you should upload to the cloud. From there, you can download specific files to your app and from the app, move files to the mural to make your edits and then when finished, upload to wherever you are sharing. That’s how I create my UA-cam shorts. Once I’ve uploaded to UA-cam, I delete the files from the app since they are still backed up on the cloud. I have to do it this way because I use an iPhone 7 with 32mb of storage and a second Gen iPad Pro 12.9 with only 64mb. So I’m constantly running out of space when downloading back and forth. I recently purchased a 1tb USB that connects to both Apple devices and that helps a lot when offloading stuff for later use.
Great vid, quick question. Can you create videos longer than 60 seconds on the go pro app? I have read that the Quik desktop app limits video creations to 60 seconds. Thanks!!

At the end of the music selection, gopro gives you an option for custom music. After opening it, it just says search and will not allow for me to upload any music from a mp3 player or file. After editing a video on the mobile Quik App in Android, the edited video appears in "Studio - My Edits". Does the Edited video then gets uploaded to GoPro Cloud (I am a GoPro subscriber). Hey Jordan I have the hero 8 black. When you select video clips for the app to create an auto edit is there a way to lengthen the snippets that it chooses to include? For instance I am working with RC car clips and it will transition before the rc car has finished the jump which is rather anticlimatic. Each snippet seems to be about 4 seconds long. If I could change that to like 7 to 10 seconds or work with each snippet individually that would work.

Hi Jordan, I have recently got a GoPro and a subscription with unlimited cloud storage. I thought that I could watch my footage at full resolution straight from the cloud but it seems that I have to download it for full resolution. This means that I have to put it on my internal storage kind of defeating the purpose of cloud storage. Any advice?

something i don't get, @9:05 seconds, you mention upload any footage from other camerasto the cloud, i tried that, and kept getting "The media you're uploading already exists in your media library" come to find out it was only allowing 1 MOV file to be uploaded and the rest it considered duplicate. i could not find a workaround on that.

Hi Sunny, A lot of times if the WiFi won't connect it's because another WiFi connection (your home, car, etc.) keeps overriding the camera's WiFi. Usually it's one that is set to AutoJoin the network. Check that first on your WiFi settings in your phone. Once you correct that and have a consistent connection, hopefully, the Live View will also work. I hope that helps!
I’m a subscribed quick user with a hero 10- making sailing videos . I use the quick app to import clips to my app media and then make an edit . I can enable the stickers and the vids show the stickers are present. When I move them to an edit they are gone! I have a workaround of downloading the sticker enabled vids to my phone then upload again, but it takes forever and is difficult to track. Any suggestions from the community?

Hi any information why the quick app won’t work on iPad? I contacted GoPro and they said it has to be iPad 8 or higher (I had iPad 6) so I bought 2022 iPad Pro and same issue won’t support high resolution editing. However my “old” iPhone 12 works perfectly. It took GoPro 5 days last time to tell me I need iPad 8 or higher. Can’t contact them until tomorrow and imagine I’m in for a long wait and another bum steer. Apple said contact the developer of course … only received new iPad Pro today and not happy Jan…!
Hi Jordan! and @GoPro. I have been uploading thru web using "Add Media" says videos were uploaded but I cannot see them in my media list. I refreshed the page, logged-in and logged out and still not showing. I also tried checking thru my Quik App thru phone and Quik App for windows, still not there. Plus, the Quik app for windows keeps logging me out from my account every time I click anywhere to navigate thru the app. What's wrong? I just feel like my subscription is useless as I cannot really organize my videos thru it. Sorry I am just frustrated at this point.

If you add a photo to Murals from your phones camera roll, does it create a copy of the photo in the Quick app or does it source from the original file location? Meaning if I add photos to Murals from my camera roll, that photo would now take up twice the space on my phone because it is stored in the Camera Roll and the Quick? I have played around with Murals, but stopped because I couldn't find a good answer to that question. Thanks in advance.
Hi, As far as I can tell, it must refer to your camera's library. I've tested it out by adding some large video files and didn't see any increase in the Documents size within the GoPro App. I hope that helps, but keep an eye on it and let me know if you come across a different realization.

How can I lock the preview screen in Quik? I want to use my iPad to monitor in portrait mode. Locking the screen (while in the Quick app or prior to launching Quick) it locks in landscape. When in Quick and in portrait mode, the screen will go black and reset to landscape. I only use Quik for controlling the camera. Any recommendations for other apps that will achieve what I am after?

answered non of my questions, I had one question, how do I select media and upload it to the gopro storage I paid there yearly subscription for? it seems to want to take everything off my iphone and autoupload it, which will take forever and be annoying. Question….I just bought the 10 for 5k. Did a bunch of dives and video in 5k. When i exported it would only allow me to export in 4K. I think it is because i transferred to phone first instead of natively in app. Is there a way I can edit in app and export to 5K or do i need different software?

I finally discovered it was the Quik app after uninstalling all the other apps. Is there a way to use the Quik app without it maxing out all of my phone memory ? Very frustrated as I love the camera and would love to edit from my phone but I'm a beginner. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hi, I encountered the same issue. One way to solve this is to keep all your video's in the GoPro cloud and only download the ones you want to edit at the moment.

I believe that once you grab frames from a video, it loses the GPS data.

Yes, you can add multiple photos and videos together to one edit. For longer edits though, you might want to go use another app like CapCut.

I can enable the stickers and the vids show the stickers are present. When I move them to an edit they are gone! I have a workaround of downloading the sticker enabled vids to my phone then upload again, but it takes forever and is difficult to track. Any suggestions from the community?

Hi any information why the quick app won’t work on iPad? I contacted GoPro and they said it has to be iPad 8 or higher (I had iPad 6) so I bought 2022 iPad Pro and same issue won’t support high resolution editing. However my “old” iPhone 12 works perfectly. It took GoPro 5 days last time to tell me I need iPad 8 or higher. Can’t contact them until tomorrow and imagine I’m in for a long wait and another bum steer. Apple said contact the developer of course … only received new iPad Pro today and not happy Jan…!
Hi Jordan! and @GoPro. I have been uploading thru web using "Add Media" says videos were uploaded but I cannot see them in my media list. I refreshed the page, logged-in and logged out and still not showing. I also tried checking thru my Quik App thru phone and Quik App for windows, still not there. Plus, the Quik app for windows keeps logging me out from my account every time I click anywhere to navigate thru the app. What's wrong? I just feel like my subscription is useless as I cannot really organize my videos thru it. Sorry I am just frustrated at this point.

How do I view studio edits I’ve created on the mobile app on my desktop? I’m logged in the same account on both, is that something that can only be accomplished by subscribing and utilizing the cloud storage?

If you add a photo to Murals from your phones camera roll, does it create a copy of the photo in the Quick app or does it source from the original file location? Meaning if I add photos to Murals from my camera roll, that photo would now take up twice the space on my phone because it is stored in the Camera Roll and the Quick? I have played around with Murals, but stopped because I couldn't find a good answer to that question. Thanks in advance.

As far as I can tell, it must refer to your camera's library. I've tested it out by adding some large video files and didn't see any increase in the Documents size within the GoPro App. I hope that helps, but keep an eye on it and let me know if you come across a different realization.

How can I lock the preview screen in Quik? I want to use my iPad to monitor in portrait mode. Locking the screen (while in the Quick app or prior to launching Quick) it locks in landscape. When in Quick and in portrait mode, the screen will go black and reset to landscape. I only use Quik for controlling the camera. Any recommendations for other apps that will achieve what I am after?

Hello, I edited a video on the quick. When I want to save it, it proposes to render the video. When I do this it seems it just goes to sleep and the rendering stops. How can I prevent this ? It's been running all day now.

Question….I just bought the 10 for 5k. Did a bunch of dives and video in 5k. When i exported it would only allow me to export in 4K. I think it is because i transferred to phone first instead of natively in app. Is there a way I can edit in app and export to 5K or do i need different software?

hey Jordan, I love your videos on "how to". I have a GoPro 10 and recently had an issure on my Android getting all of my memory used up. I finally discovered it was the Quik app after uninstalling all the other apps. Is there a way to use the Quik app without it maxing out all of my phone memory ? Very frustrated as I love the camera and would love to edit from my phone but I'm a beginner. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hi, I encountered the same issue. One way to solve this is to keep all your video's in the GoPro cloud and only download the ones you want to edit at the moment.
