First UA-camr I've seen to actually show how much work trimming on a phone actually is. Most teach it because it's easy, but it takes forever. If you have a computer, select the best shots, stitch it all together, and pull out a highlight reel like you have, faster than it took to record live with TimeBolt.

BUT UPS tells me the camera won't be here till Tuesday on not this Saturday. My invoice says "2nd Day Air" but UPS says not so. I'll watch ur video again and also decide what settings I'll carry over from my GoPro 11. Compliment my videos with a 360 camera and a DJI Air 3 (which I really enjoy).

I'm new to GoPro and editing. Your videos great, I understand how "Hilites" work, but I don't understand how "Sync Beat" works. When to use or not use them in my edits.
Hello, I have a question about the camera. It's better to raise the resolution to 5.3 because it looks fantastic at first, not to leave it at 4K/30 with the fact that I have 10bit colors and maximum framerate. But if I just upgrade to 5.3, it looks like the files are about the same size. What is your opinion or advice .. raise the resolution or framrate .. Thanks for the response
@@ataner4857 great question! This is always a question I’m asking myself and there are so many factors that I’m weighing up when I switch settings. 1. Where am I going to edit this - if I know it’s for quik and I’m using an iPhone 15 I’ll stick 4K knowing it will work however if I’m going to use my laptop and have room to process 5.3k then I’ll switch over.
2. I really like 4K 60fps for anything moving (even walking) and shutter on auto as I find this looks super crisp while allowing hypersmooth to do its job in most lighting conditions.
3. Just have some fun with it

Very cool. Just got a GoPro 11 to film on a bikepacking trip from Canada to Mexico. Question … can I add in drone footage to this app? I am going to use a Hover Air as well as GoPro. -). Thanks !
I love the quick edits of GoPro Quik app, but unfortunately the final output for Instagram Stories, Reels or WhatsApp isn't good.
I found Capcut export compression is just awesome without losing the quality.
Is there a way to get it better in Quik ?

New to the go pro and editing....when I try to save using the blue save button in upper right hand corner, just keep getting ad to subscribe to gopro editing tools for $$ which I don't want to do. So unable to save my edits... ??
I shoot videos of my daughter’s volleyball club matches/tournaments, so my clips are long. I currently use a third-party app for compression and merging. Is that doable in Quik?
I constantly have issues with Quik timing out on a Mac air and making editing impossible. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a limit to the number of files you should upload into the app in one time?

@@BareKiwi I see videos of normal movement and it transitions to a fast-forward then slows down again. Is that through edit process? Is there other gopro editing software that is easy to use? What about good Bluetooth remote controls?
New to GoPro here. My GoPro 12 divides longer videos into chapters - approx 20 minutes long. How can I stitch or merge these so I can have continuous playback?

Unfortunately you are correct only one tune can be used at a time.
I'm dealing with the GoPro Quik app on my Samsung Galaxy A70. Despite installing the latest update, the app constantly experiences severe lags and freezes both during the editing process and when trying to watch edited videos.
Hey there @barttiii I had to google your phone and this was the first thing that popped up :It might not be the most powerful device. I hate to say it but it might be time for an upgrade sorry.
I have the same with a brand new OnePlus 12. For me the app is unworkable if there is no fix for the black screens appearing instead of clips. Any tips are more then welcome.

How do you edit the full length video? I have a video that’s 20 min, but when I edit it, it’s condensed into like 2 min..and every time I try and get the music to stop and begin in certain parts it just plays music for the whole edit. So it’s either music for whole video or no music at all?
Nice video, But by rendering the clip it crashes on the iPad ! every time! What to do?
I hate to say this but this is a hardware issue, try deleting and cleaning up your memory on iPad.

I had a similar problem on my older iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 12,but my new iPad Pro works flawlessly with the quick app

Great question, I’ve never noticed a dramatic loss in quality at my end and the team are constantly doing app updates so it’s only getting better especially now with the advanced export settings

I've only just bought my first GoPro (11)
I've made a few edits but I'm struggling to save them to my phone. The most I've had is 58% and then it goes to black screen and back 0%.
I can save the suggested edits noproblem but struggling with my own. I've even tried doing them at 720.
Any advice would me really appreciated please
This sounds like memory on your device might be full? Have you checked that? Also make sure the app and your device are all updated
What type of phone do you use? I am using a moto g stylus and it plays 1080 nothing sharper
what is the difference between HEVC and H.264 ? ;)
Hey there, H.264 has everyday use cases applicable to almost all common devices. However, HEVC encoding requires high computational power. As a result of this, HEVC can compress videos much more efficiently than AVC while keeping the same level of image quality. Basically I find for mobile applications H.264 is faster and cleaner
I have a gopro hero mini 11 and trying to use the quik app but can't transfer 4k videos from the camera to the app. The video is transfered but i can't edit or watch it because it lags and freezes. Tried 3 different phones, new with latest android and decent performance although not the most expensive. Looking at reviews and forums it seems like there's a lot of people that has this problem, yet Gopro does not acknowledge it and i have not found any solution. I'm about to give up Gopro altogether because of it.
Does anybody know about this and have any solution or at least an explanation for this problem?
Kia Ora, this does not sound like it’s camera related but more the device you’re editing in. At the end of the day you’re editing high resolution 4K 10-bit professional footage on a mobile device. Quik will be available on desktop soon but have you tried using an iPhone? Also try clearing all cookies and trash on your android. I hope this helps you some
Thank's for the reply. The requirements for the app is Android 10, according to Gopro. Nothing else is specified. I recently tried it on a brand new phone with Android 13, 8gb of ram, 256gb of memory space. Can't handle a 10 sec clip. I've been searching around and there's actually people saying that it used to work but doesn't anymore. They could edit 4k earlier on their phones but with recent updates the can't.

My GoPro footage plays in all black on my phone, I tried emailing it to my friend with an iPhone and it still plays in black on hers, how do I fix this, it's all from a trip of a lifetime so I really want to be able to edit the footage 😢😢

@@BareKiwi Same issue I am facing with GoPro 13 Black.and have Iphone14 pro-max .whenever I use hyper smooth pro and upload the video to cloud and try to download it on phone. Video turns black and only sound is audible.

The Trim video is technical - you barely scratched the surface :(

legit the app never works for me.
This is what pisses me off about GoPro.
You need to download the entire video to your phone on the app. Then you can trim it and export it.
A 1GB video needs 2GB+ to edit.
With insta360, a 1GB video can be “trimmed” on the camera and then you can export 0.5GB. So your phone only needs 0.5GB.
GoPro really needs to update Quik because it’s garbage.
My samsung phone offers better editing tool for free and it is more intuitive, without that annoying logo in the end :/
Even if I edit and cut the clips, this app cuts the videos not where I wanted. It pisses me off even more that constant pop-up to buy the subscription.
It’s all good no one is forcing you to use this app. Also did you ever try clicking the disable button on the logo? Have a look at that.

@@wojtekstach78 that’s ok mate, it’s a very full on editing system trying to work on a tiny mobile device. Everything I showed in this video was part of the non-subscription service which I feel is pretty amazing for a free app.
It is ridiculous to have a 38min download for a 24min recording....
Not being able to disable Auto highlight is the reason i will never buy another go pro ever.
This is worst piece of software ever, cuts best parts out, complete nonsense, and if you have 50 clips good luck, entering each one disabling manually autohighlight in all 50 videos.
Quik it's the worst app that you can use for editing your videos

Man ! How you do to upload a video with this quality!!! I just got my GoPro 13 and I’m very confused with quality of my videos in UA-cam and how trim in GoPro quick !! 🥹
