Alan, what a pleasant surprise to hear you mention my name at the beginning of your show. These three gentlemen gave me such insight into their evolutions. I cried when Adam Hess discussed what his father and father in law wrote on his wedding day. Also, Alan I recall hiding after coming out of a gay establishment. The fear, and on occasion physical and verbal threats. My father did not know about my sexuality and I told my late mother when she was very ill. Her answer, was not my Michael and I let it go. Before she died, she asked my closest friend to take care of me. She knew and accepted it in her own way. She told me that she would always love me as we held hands before I would leave her room at the facility. I have only told this to two other people and never on a public forum. I finally felt comfortable with Kevin and Greg's storyline to come out to others. I want to thank you for your kindness and for having these gentlemen on for Pride Month.

I appreciate your message so much and always look forward to seeing you post. I hope that you had an amazing vacation and I think that it is wonderful how you treat your employees. To take those that have been thrown away by society, and giving them employment and a purpose makes you a gentleman. Although, you don't see that much the Locher Room is filled with them, especially our host, Alan. His shows have made me be. comfortable for one of the first times in my life.

And micheal I am not gay either but because of things you are. Or afraid to say like concerning soaps and feeling hrTz and represented is very inspiring and has helped fual In me a bunch of diferent ideas I just wish these eps and writers could figure it out the way I can so quickly and sure it might not be exactky what everyone wants but that's still no excuse at least not to do something.
And like I keep saying micheal it's amazing how a, storyline from 36 years ago with Hank Eliot keeps giving me diferent ideas for like 3 or 4 storylines including a trans one.
I just wish these so called brilliant soap writers would go watch hank Elliot first before they start doing gay charecters or storylines or bother to think about every variable first like what happened with Bianca on amc.
Or the bad side effects of Craig and leo it's like why through away craig and Nancy.
Or ruin will and gabi or the missed opportunity on atwt because you made Luke gay so you could not do a Luke Talia pairing which again would have actaully been a daytime first with having a, white male get involved with a Muslim women.
And I say that because to me diversity should not be one sided but with that said.
There was no excuse not to actaully look at the whole hank Elliot storyline and find a, way to get 2 completely new characters that were gay on atwt. You had bro lucinda worldwide. Ohh wait you screwed up bro, but still it could have been done.

Alan, may I make a make a guest suggestion? I would love to see if you could get Cindy Pickett of Guiding Light. She was part of the cast back in the late 70’s to early mid ‘80s, I believe? She played Jackie Marler. You probably already know her character’s story. Those years of the show got me hooked on GL in 1977 when I was 13. So many fascinating, multi layered characters and storylines. Oh, to see those years again. Cindy has been interviewed on other UA-cam channels and seems like she would be a fun guest. Shame she hasn’t participated in any previous GL Locher Rooms. Great interviews today btw. ❤❤🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈.

Yes it was scott with the live chat and interview and sure we all have opinions but it's important to hear from others on How they feel and their experiences. As for gh and Patrick mulcahy you just got back from your trip so how do you know Patrick ruined gh he does have a cowriter I. Elisabeth Corte how do you know it was not her ideas but honestly gh has been unwatchable to me since 2020 and honestly I thought about going back with the atrociose previous writing regime gone. but now that I see one of them. Back and seeing the same stuff I don't like. So I am not going back I abandoned bold and the beutiful too and have not gone back because me watching only rewards bad writing and storylines I don't like so ABC lost me. NBC pretty much lost me except for peacock and days but if Ron gets really bad again like before the writers strike he might lose me as a viewer.
And Josh Griffith at y and r is starting to lose it, but hopefully he will stop and start to get back to what he was doing before but I am thinking y and r having an executive in charge of production probably from sonys insistence might be the issue and in that case that position is a, waste and not needed Josh was just fine without extra unecesarry positions how about taking that money you put into paying an Ep In Charge of production for a, single soap into increasing the budget for a soap so they can give us better stories.
Just my thoughts god these soaps have death wishes they always want to change what's not broken.
They need to leave stuff alone let the eps and writers do their jobs.
Now in p and g case with aw atwt and guiding light it made sense to have an Ep in charge of production until the position got abused after p and g wrongly fired Ken l fitts in 1996.
So lesson hear if it's not broken don't fix it.

@@gabrielstern4992 thanks Gabriel, yes my holiday was wonderful. Elizabeth has been writing on General Hospital since 1994,so she knows all the history. Patrick didn't and was fired. She is now the Head writer. I was excited for Patrick, he did correct some of the stories. One major flaw...you Never write against history or the characters. The viewers will call you out. General Hospital can fix itself if it honours its history. Now with Bold and the Beautiful, it is being written like a Saturday night live skit....The Californians.... I am patiently waiting on improvements. At least we have the Gates to look forward to.

    • @gabrielstern4992
      @gabrielstern4992 Місяць тому +1

@@ScottRandolph-dd7dr but my point is Patrick had Elizabeth as a Co headwriter but if history needs fixing or was done wrong or atrociose then I am all for fixing it and honestly I think this younger generation of viewers just like bad writing and this awful realty show style of soap opera not what you and I grew up on.
And by the way Patrick was at gh in 1995. So he does have a, sense of history. But I think Patrick mulcahy is too good for gh. Just like Doug Marland was.
I would rather have Patrick headwrite a robooted atwt where history bieng altered if done write will be loved and embraced especially if it makes the show look how it would have looked if Doug Marland had lived until the snow went off the air in 2010.
But proves my point scott and I think he just was not giving the time like the old days.
And Scott Doug Marland altered history at atwt in 1986. But it fixed a wrong he undid Dr Bob and Kim's loss of thier daughter with Sabrina.
And y and r just undid baby eves death with Claire bieng revealed as Cole and Victoria's daughter who they thought died years ago. That's altering history but it's done in a way that makes sense to older viewers. Where I think with Patrick mulcahy he was not given enough time to look at all the history. I think he just felt things needed fixing look what he did for Nancy Lee grahn and Alexis that awful charecter assignation the Dan o conner Chris van etten team thing that was done was one example of charecter assignation.
Ohh let's see micheal Sasha willow chase ruined that.
Ohh let's see ruined Nina screwed up sonny screwed up Carly and I don't care how much emmys the show got charecter assignations and bad writing don't deserve emmys.
Ohh let's see ruining joss and Cameron those are all reasons I dropped gh like a bad habit in 2020 and that was after 30 something years of watching the show. So what does that say.

Agreed benjanin if course I got a little snarky. but that's just me
Reacting to the conversion therapy stuff. It amazes me how clowns like DeSantis will promote conversion therapy but mental health services for trans people that's forbidden.
Thats where my snarky gay no more cream or lotion stuff or spray stuff came from because these clowns would actaully probably sell and market stuff like this to their base.
And benjamin considering your love of Chris bernue I eax watching his performances and voice and as Alan Spaulding he sounded a bit like Vincent price without the accent.
And of course Hayden I roarke from I dream of Jennie who was very gay and was known for his parties that Larry hagman went to and Barbara eden. Or James Mitchell who played palmer on amc or the actor who played Langley Wallingford on amc until he died but I am getting a blank on his name now let's get y and r back in shape benjamin.

I was strange when I was growing up. I think I knew I was different/gay at the age of 7. But I also sensed that whatever those feelings were had to wait. I heard a few comments from some of the bully type boys---I heard "gay", "faggot" and "queer". I took those words and researched them at the library. My research led me to reading James Baldwin at the age of 11. I guess that made me somewhat unique. A few years later I was reading the Hite Report on Men and Male Sexuality. I came out right at the beginning at the HIV crisis and my family and friends were all accepting. I came out then because I felt had owed the honesty to people and not necessarily because I was happy to come out. Then years later, after seeing Todd Stephens movie Edge of 17, I left the theater, went home and literally started dialing numbers in my address book to tell many more people. Something about the experience of seeing Edge of 17 made me giddy to tell people and I think the reason was that I realized that I was the character of Eric and it was a revelation that a movie was made about my life. I was not alone.

There’s a goofy movie with a very cute premise, and it even starred a guy who used to be on “One Life to Live.” It’s called “Friends & Family,” about a male couple who were out as a gay couple but in the closet about being Mafia enforcers. Their parents thought they ran a catering business. So when the parents came to visit, they were hiding their guns, etc., and even got their Mafia friends to pretend to caterers! It was a very cute premise, but unfortunately fell flat. (I think also the Mafia daughter had a male fiance’ (played by the 2nd Brian on “All My Children!!” whose parents were coming to visit and had no idea that their son was marrying into a Mafia family - but the son’s parents were secretly part of a radical anti=government militia group!) So lots of people had secrets - it a was a very cute premise, but fell flat toward the middle-end, unfortunately.

Alan I will have to rewatch but a great live chat. And Alan I live the state of florida but I will not go there until DeSantis is gone and I don't feel safe there because of my trans former brother. They will target me I have had enough to of those wacky extreme evangelicals and Alan I was bieng a smart Alec a bit with my snarky stuff like these wacky screw balls wouid sell snake oil gay no more lotion or cream or spray if they could or homo no more stuff of course it would never work.
And that came up from me because of the conversion therapy stuff of course mental health services. For trans people must be banned,
but ohh conversion therapy is perfectly okay in these extremists minds.
Ohh Alan since Philadelphia came up here is another movie you might want to watch if you have not seen it and that's long time companion.
But I can't watch that movie because the intamecy stuff bothers me. Personally.
And Alan since you have Hulu don't forget the moonlighting episode from the third season big man on mulberry street which was really bold for 1986.
Anyway happy pride to you and everyone else who is lbtw+ out thier.
And Alan of course Mathew Sheppard came up and of course my trans story idea has Mathew Sheppard elements to it but sadly daytime has never done a, storyline like I want to do.
And Alan I will say this all my diferent ideas to try and figure out ways to show more love and representation to the lbtq+ community all seem to come back to what Doug Marland did with the hank Eliot storyline at atwt and that was 36 years, ago yet I can come up with from that storyline ways to get more new gay charecters on soaps without going down rabbit holes like Bianca or Luke or will hortan.
Come up with a trans storyline and figure out a way to get new straight charecters on a soap from my idea.
What I don't get is why if I can figure it out from having conversations with Micheal why can't these so called writers and eps figure it the heck out.
Without bieng so polorizing and micheal and I had a conversation about Greg and leo with the obnoxious stuff like having leo fantazise about Alex kariokis and leo wanting guys who aren't gay to me it's obnoxious and sends the wrong message that gays are perverts and pedophiles.
    But maybe it's just me.
