3D GPS Lock as in > 6 or > 7 satellites? I don't think there's a 3D lock sensor; however, you can use logic to give you an alert. I believe Sats is the count of sensors. Use that value in a logical switch. L01 a>x Sats 6 Then a special function when L01 is active, play track "xxx".

Hi John Just followed your instructions on installing inav telemetry widget. However the respince time on the screen when I mive the plane is like 12 or more seconds. Any thoughts or advise?
Hello sir .quick question will this work on radiomaster boxer? i cant find any inav lua script for radio master BOXER cant find any video on youtube .please advise thank you...!
Thank you friend! Thanks to you, everything works. Some questions. 1. You have "150nz" written in the upper right corner. I don't have this label. What's it? 2. everything works very quickly and smoothly for you, the radio draws a lot of frames per second. I have not so smoothly, slower, somewhere 1-2 frames per second. What is the reason?, My setup: inav260, lua172, matek f405, softserial s-port, rx: jumper r1 16ch, tx: radiolink tx16s
1. 150hz is a Crossfire update rate and it's automated. 2. I'm not exactly sure because both radios use the same CPU. You might try upgrading your SD card. Also make sure to turn off sensor discovery if you haven't already.
Hi I'm using tbs nano receiver and mateksys f405wing for fc. It should be capable of sending telemetry back to radio transmitter. But I can't configure the wiring and INAV setting to do that telemetry thing to show roll, pitch and virtual horizon . Can you help ? FYI all my servo and motor already working just fine.
@@RCVideoReviews updated my quetions. Yes I get the telemetry. In telemetry page I can see my pitch, roll and yaw move when I wiggle the plane. But strangely it doesn't reflect in the navigation widget. It only shows signal strength. No moving horizon as I wiggle the plane. no battery voltage, coordinate etc
@@RCVideoReviews solved. Delete all sensor then rediscover new sensors solve the problem. Still error horizon ... rebooting both the model and radio transmitter fix all the problem. Thanks
I don't know. I don't see why it wouldn't. You could always back up your SD card and give it a try. If there is an issue, restore the card. I don't have any Betaflight configured devices at the moment, so I can't test.
I haven't experimented with any other receivers so I can't say definitively; however, I would expect any Rx capable of telemetry should be able to send the iNav data back.
very nice video , I installed the inav LUA in my TX16s, I use Frsky receiver on a pixhawk, but I cannot get orientation data, the inav page basically not showing any data, any suggestions ? I am not sure does inav support mavlink which is used by PX4, thanks
I have inav lua working on 2 different planes, only thing not working is the output power of the exspresselrs transmitter, funny thing is that in osd it's working just fine but on radiomaster tx16s screen it shows 0mw on tx output, also wondering whats the sensor name that provides tx out put power? Thanks for all your videos
Telemetry comes from the telemetry sensor. Voice prompts can be set to react to data values from the telemetry sensor. The script is merely visually presenting telemetry sensors. So, yes, whether or not you run the script, you can create voice prompts in response to telemetry sensor data.
I don't know for what reason but the colors on my LCD change to very unreadable after running this script. What is the default theme to use for this script to work correctly?
To eliminate themes from the question, your best bet would be to use the default EdgeTX theme. I guarantee if the theme is involved, it would have surfaced with the default theme. Alternatively, check with the developer. Sounds like an odd issue to me.
Hi. I have followed your video and the iNav script is running nicely with the iNav "standard model" installed on my TX16s. The annoying bit is that if I change a switch such as SW A or SW D (back to the centre position) the Mode (Angle - Horizon - Acro) is spoken three times. Is that normal, or if not what may be wrong ? Oddly if the receiver (and thus model) is switched Off the Mode is only spoken once so the problem appears to be with the Telemetry script.
Apparently the current inav.lua script on EdgeTX cannot be run directly by executing form Scirpts folder on sd card. It is meant to be run via the widget feature of EdgeTX. I got a nill value error when trying to execute as a script. I was told this by opening an issue on the github repository.
just installed the INAV lua and everything is working 100%...thanks! is it possible for this to make changes to other screens? My radio timer activated by the throttle used to be black numbers on a white background, now it's dim white numbers on a white background, very hard to see. How do I get it back? or change colors. crossfire/tx16s
Yes! There's some sort of bug either in OpenTx or the LUA script (I'm guessing OpenTx) that leaves the font colors changed. It happens on mine too. I haven't tried it yet, but you might want to try to "reset" the flight. Long press jog dial, reset, flight. Not sure if that'll work or not, but I've experienced similar discoloration issues with fonts. Rebooting the radio definitely restores the correct color.
That’s definitely the idea. I wrote a Kia script like this a long time ago but without the graphics. My idea was to fly by the numbers. This script definitely yields critical information in the absence of video.
Excellent tutorial. I got mine working, but the update speed is very slow -- like a bit over 1 second frequency. So if I move my model, the AHI lags severely behind as to make that useless. Any ideas how to fix this? The top right corner of my screen shows 250Hz which is obviously wrong. It's more like 1Hz update speed.
@@RCVideoReviews I found out if I use Crossfire module then the iNav AHI smooth. But if I switch to ELRS then it becomes slow as I described above. A friend of mine has the same problem. We haven't found the solution yet but it's a start to tracking down the fix...

@@Joziebee hi greeting from me. I have similar problem using nano receiver on mateksys f405wing and can't get INAV telemetry sent back to radio transmitter. Glad you solve the problem. Can you help me on the wiring diagram ? The wiring diagram from the FC to nano receiver to get this telemetry works ? Thanks in advance
Yes, for any model that has iNav and that you want the iNav telemetry LUA to operate, you'll have to add it. There are options though, you can setup one model and use it as a template for others. That's what I do.
I just followed your video on upgrading to EdgeTX 2.7, Black Pearl, which was done in 2022. This Video was done in 2020. Is this compatible with Black Pearl?
The latest iNav Widget github.com/iNavFlight/OpenTX-Telemetry-Widget/releases/download/v2.1.0/LuaTelemetry_v2.1.0.zip loads and runs on Black Pearl. Whether or not it "works" using your sensors/telemetry/fc etc...I can't answer. It loads and runs fine as a widget.
Suppose I am interested in iNav. But not interested in FPV. Suppose I am interested in flying using Line of Sight. Could I use these LUA scripts to recover after losing visual orientation? Suppose I take steps when mounting iNav Controller to isolate from vibration. Would this work when flying gasser airplanes in the 30cc - 100cc range? Thanks, Randy
I don't know I would want to try and use a script to try and recover a plane after losing orientation. If I had iNav in a plane, I would rather just flick a switch and have the plane return to home or loiter while I regained my bearings. If you're suggesting you can eliminate vibrations as a problem I don't see any reason the computer couldn't control the plane. You may want to check on the current demands to drive the servos and you may need to power them externally. As far as the airframe goes, the computer won't care what it's in so long as the airframe is supported by the firmware.
@@RCVideoReviews No I am not making that suggestion. That is actually my question. Are the typical methods used to reduce vibration in a gas engine environment, adequate to allow a iNav Flight Controller to work? Thankyou so much for the answers.
The LUA scripts depend on iNav telemetry. So the script will load, but no data will appear unless you're getting telemetry using the same sensor names the script expects from iNav.
That "Fuel" gauge is confusing... What is it reading? Battery percent? (but all battery packs are different) How does it know? Cheers from New Zealand and Kia Kaha!
In betaflight you can set the mah of the battery and your low voltage cutoff. The flight computer can calculate mah consumed with a current sensor, therefore the fuel % can be derived. Honestly, I don't pay any attention to any of that stuff. I simply watch my voltage. Depending on the type of aircraft, I get it on the ground around 3.6-3.75v/s
Hi, I added Inav Lua but the pitch axis is inverted, have you ever see such thing? When the FC pitch-up the telemetry is positive and when it pitch-down the telemtry is negative. Is there a setting for this?
I have been getting grey hair with this one. Got all working, on radio tx16s with working telemetry with jumper R8 to pixhawk 6 c. But no value on distance from home or roll, yaw. Noticed on the telemetry list I do not have 0420 sensor for distance to home, or the 0430 onwards for the horizon graphic. Do you have any ideas. I currently get it from separate osd, but want it on 2.4ghz Regards Dave Pope
Probably need to get on the iNav github and see if you can contact the developer. Hard to be involved with that level of detail on so many different possible setups/firmwares/controllers etc...If overall functionality works, the details will be down to the developer to help you sort out.
@@RCVideoReviews thank! I am asking because i think yapu you have to load the tiles yourself. So iNav you don't? It will show the map when you lock satellite?
I believe it's derived from BF information where you enter the cell capacity and your desired cutoff voltage; however, I haven't really experimented with it so can't say for sure.
@@RCVideoReviews Thanks! I have not seen any information that has specifically explained how Fuel data is calculated. Also, thanks for taking time to produce these great videos.
I'm using this widget with EdgeTX 2.5 and the colors are all wrong. The background is blue and the text is not visible (also blue). Has anybody experienced this and perhaps know a fix?
I have the screen working on my TX 16 but when I put on my FPV goggles I get a warning on the screen to disable navigation first, unable to connect. My Goggles are Fat Shark Scout. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong and why I don't have throttle control?
I'm not familiar with any error message that says, "disable navigation first, unable to connect". If you're using analog goggles, there is no interaction between the transmission/reception of data and the flight computer other than the overlay of OSD. In other words, there is no mode on the FC that can prevent video data from reaching the goggles. Navigation modes generally involve the GPS, so you may want to ensure you have a manual mode available and that it is active before attempting to arm.
@@RCVideoReviews it is showing on the screen it is manual mode. I believe I have something set wrong in my tx as when tested on another trans that was used previously with this model everything works. I had to load the iNav files to my tx so I need to check the files to see what is different, thank you
Hi, friend, I followed your instruction, and I successfully installed and run this script, on Sbus Frsky and Matek F765, everything seems working right , EXCEPT for that sensor called "FUEL", in my case, when I power up the plane, this sensor just start very slowly increase the "%" and its just keep increasing until 1200,,1205% etc etc and dont stop, even when the model is on the bench and nothing is running !! what could be wrong ? some parameters that need just adjust in editing ?, thank you and waiting for suggestions..greetings !
@@RCVideoReviews I fixed now, it was two things , first, you have to set FUEL = PERCENT in the CLI, and second in the configuration tab, the field "Capacity" you have to complete it with you specific battery total mAh to use. And now it match perfectly between the values displayed in the OSD and the value populated in the lua script..thank you again !! for your videos
@@RCVideoReviews I used sbus wiring diagram and inav telemetry 1.7.2 but Roll pitch yaw doesnt show up yet all other 20 sensor keep on showing and my Telemetry widget is actually not displaying any of the data

Hi, I have two airplanes in the RadioMaster TX16S transmitter using the Inav telemetry page. For one airplane the page is working OK in accordance with your tutorial. But in the other airplane the page is not working. The artificial horizon is not moving when I move the airplane and also the information like battery voltage, fuel and number of satelites aren't appearing. Could you help me? Thanks
So you see sensors for attitude, voltage, fuel, but not number of satellites? You may need to speak with the inav lua script developer on github. What I know is that when I have the sensors active on my model and then I activate the lua, the lua script works. If you have sensors and the lua script is not working, you'll probably need help from the guy who wrote it. There is no option to turn these things on or off that I know of within the script.

The radio works with lua out of the box. This lua script is designed for iNav devices and the telemetry delivered by iNav to the radio. It will not work with just an L9R. You've also asked about 6 different questions between the Rx, YaaPu, iNav LUA, Pixhawk, and A3. I can't answer all of them here.... For the script in this video, you need an iNav device, a TX16s, and an Rx that supports telemetry. The A3 is a stabilizer and offers no telemetry info. The L9R does not support telemetry. Yaapu is a LUA script for telemetry. The Pixhawk PX4 is a flight computer. You're kind of bouncing around on me a little. Please trim your questions back to something more manageable.

Why the GPS coordinate doesn't show in the widget ?
Mine also does the same.
Is that because the GPS module doesn't support OSD ?
It's because I don't get a GPS lock where I film and if I did, I'd still blur it out ;) I do believe it shows up at the field though.
Thanks thats great
Glad you like it
Great video. So what is up with the upper right area where there is supposed to be a map. How do you set that to work?
I never did figure that out.
I did install on a separate page the mapping widget which is a full screen map and you can add the key telemetry elements desired. @@RCVideoReviews
Oh cool. Sounds useful.
Hello sir .quick question will this work on radiomaster boxer? i cant find any inav lua script for radio master BOXER cant find any video on youtube .please advise thank you...!
No. This is for color radios only.
What is the reason?,
My setup: inav260, lua172,
matek f405, softserial s-port, rx: jumper r1 16ch, tx: radiolink tx16s
1. 150hz is a Crossfire update rate and it's automated.
2. I'm not exactly sure because both radios use the same CPU. You might try upgrading your SD card. Also make sure to turn off sensor discovery if you haven't already.
Pretty cool! What's the range though on an R9mm telemetry? I thought the R9mm rx was only 10mw as a telem tx?
I really have no idea. I don't own any R9 gear.
@@RCVideoReviews I switched to ELRS 2.4 getting better range than R9m
Hi I'm using tbs nano receiver and mateksys f405wing for fc. It should be capable of sending telemetry back to radio transmitter.
But I can't configure the wiring and INAV setting to do that telemetry thing to show roll, pitch and virtual horizon . Can you help ?
FYI all my servo and motor already working just fine.
Do you get any telemetry?
@@RCVideoReviews updated my quetions.
Yes I get the telemetry.
In telemetry page I can see my pitch, roll and yaw move when I wiggle the plane. But strangely it doesn't reflect in the navigation widget. It only shows signal strength. No moving horizon as I wiggle the plane. no battery voltage, coordinate etc

Delete all sensor then rediscover new sensors solve the problem.
Still error horizon ... rebooting both the model and radio transmitter fix all the problem.

Will the iNav lua script coexist with the Betaflight lua script on the same radio?
I don't know. I don't see why it wouldn't. You could always back up your SD card and give it a try. If there is an issue, restore the card. I don't have any Betaflight configured devices at the moment, so I can't test.
I love your videos! I've learned a lot! one issue Im having is when I execute the inav lua, it gives me a syntax error.
Sorry to hear that. On EdgeTX with the latest 2.6 and the latest iNav LUA it does work.

John, interesting and very educational. By the way, are there any other options to crossfire telemetry for the TX16S that you are aware of? Regards
Probably should let the iNav developer know. It's probably a sensor definition issue.
TPWR is the name of the sensor for ELRS transmitter power. If it's not displaying correctly in iNav LUA, you may need to check with the developer.
Ok thanks will do
can the radio voice all telemetry from inav screen? buy setting up values in special functions
Not sure. You'd probably need to bring this one up with the developer.
Apparently the current inav.lua script on EdgeTX cannot be run directly by executing form Scirpts folder on sd card. It is meant to be run via the widget feature of EdgeTX. I got a nill value error when trying to execute as a script. I was told this by opening an issue on the github repository.
Thanks for this awesome video. I have one question; my current drone doesn't have GPS. Can I change the speed to MPH another way?
Not that I'm aware of. An airspeed sensor might show some information, but I don't have one with which to test.

is it possible for this to make changes to other screens? My radio timer activated by the throttle used to be black numbers on a white background, now it's dim white numbers on a white background, very hard to see. How do I get it back? or change colors. crossfire/tx16s
Yes! There's some sort of bug either in OpenTx or the LUA script (I'm guessing OpenTx) that leaves the font colors changed. It happens on mine too. I haven't tried it yet, but you might want to try to "reset" the flight. Long press jog dial, reset, flight. Not sure if that'll work or not, but I've experienced similar discoloration issues with fonts. Rebooting the radio definitely restores the correct color.
thanks
You're welcome!
Looks like you could even fly relatively safe through the ahi in case of video loss during fpv?
That’s definitely the idea. I wrote a Kia script like this a long time ago but without the graphics. My idea was to fly by the numbers. This script definitely yields critical information in the absence of video.
@@RCVideoReviews Sounds good! Of course I would rather rely on RTH, I like having an additional safety layer. ;)
Might have to check with the developer on that one. :(

Can you help me on the wiring diagram ? The wiring diagram from the FC to nano receiver to get this telemetry works ?

Does this process have to be done for each model in the radio?
The Fuel value .. is that like in mAh or is it really fuel as in gasoline?
It has to do with the capacity of the battery and the amount of power used. Not fuel as in gas/nitro.
I tried this and i got error, attempt to index a nil value. How can I fix this please sir. thanks in advance
mine has weird black color and no words on screen, how do i fix that?
Can this be setup on the DJI F550 hexacopter?
The LUA scripts depend on iNav telemetry. So the script will load, but no data will appear unless you're getting telemetry using the same sensor names the script expects from iNav.
That "Fuel" gauge is confusing...
What is it reading? Battery percent? (but all battery packs are different)
How does it know?
Wonder if there's an issue with board orientation. Seems like your iNav setup is wrong to me.
I will try to wipe it out and reinstall it afterwards. Is your pitch telemetry positive or negative when your flight controller pitch up?
I don't have an iNav plane active at the moment. You'd be much better off joining my discord and asking there. discord.gg/jSFTASU

Oy. What FC are you using? thanks
That one is a Matek F722 WPX.
I currently get it from separate osd, but want it on 2.4ghz

Probably need to get on the iNav github and see if you can contact the developer. Hard to be involved with that level of detail on so many different possible setups/firmwares/controllers etc...If overall functionality works, the details will be down to the developer to help you sort out.
