But…… the controls are backwards? In Betaflight, it all looks good on the receiver screen - but when I fly the drone it steers the opposite way??? What’s going on there??

i just got this radio uploaded edge 2.7 the screens alittle differant but pretty close to same,thanks for these videos i am watching most 2 to 3times trying to learn all i can i fly planes most times flying wings. keep em coming lol!

Wow I think I said thanks already however it has been a hard week.I blew out the main board when I plug the charger in then it was down hill from there. So put every thing away and waited for the new board. installed the new board watch this video 5 times and just couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. Well I slowed down and Listened to what you were saying when I realized I wasn't moving from input to mixer. MAN lol it is all good now so thank you. My quad is fired up and I am ready for the rest of the lessons. Some may think you go to slow butfor this old man you are just right.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment. there are other guys that make videos (with a lot more experience than me) that explain things in a more advanced manner. This puts me at an advantage (for beginners) and that is that I still know how hard some of this stuff can be to wrap your head around, and I explain things in a way that I can understand. just like Forrest Gump's mama.

Steve, how does your mix that you setup in channel 5 know you're trying to send signals to cut inputs being sent to channel 3 (the throttle)?

the instant the video sped up to bypass buzzer switch I was derailed and spent 30 min going back and fourth trying to figure out what Imissed, but other than that GREAT VIDEO

@@TahoeSteve after I watched the video, I decided to add turtle mode, I thought I mapped it the same way as the other channels but it isn't recognized in betaflight, do I need to rebind or something to get the input to show up on betaflight?

on my betaflight quads i have always only set the source in the mixer to the switch i want. I have never added anything in the input menu. it works but this video makes me feel like i have done something wrong all this time . hahah

you are the best i have found on radiomaster tx 16s ill be watching and learning from you so Thanks, im in process of my first flying wing build but completely stuck at this point my setup is this. radiomaster tx 16s,f405 wing, frysky r xsr and inav 2.5. I setup radio channels following your steps and i do have stick inputs in radio mointor inputs,mixer and outputs, r xsr binds quickly after powering up with green and blue lights also shows good signal on home screen 5 bars. in inav uart 2 set for serial rx and sbus enabled, r xsr wired to board as 5v, ground, and sbus out green wire to board sbs and yellow to t2 which i have tryed every other combination no matter what i do no stick inputs on inav receiver port I have even reflashed inav but still No stick inputs. please help with this if possible. Thanks again

New to rc flight. Bought a plane, transmitter arrived today. All the terminology is new. At this point I don’t have enough basic info to make any sense of this video. There seems to be only the quick start that comes with the transmitter and there is very little info in it. Maybe I can get help from guys at the field
u kno this radio is better than futaba and afew others out there cost over 1,000 i been looking for awhile been using turnigy 9x for years but flying more costly planes now so i need that failsafe now! lol!

However - my drones roll pitch and yaw are all backwards? It looks correct when I control the image in Betaflight tab - but the actual drone does everything backwards??

The input number seems to correlate with the channel number when I change input one to throttle the output on the receiver changes.
Hey Steve, thanks for these videos, makes it super helpful to go back to everytime. Got a query for you if you have 5 minutes... Switches all set up, betaflight reads the switch moving. But the drone does nothing... apart from beep at me. Switch is for arming... any thoughts on where I might have gone wrong?
Really useful vide, thank you TS ! Small problem, when I am setting my switches, such as Fmodes, having SG in an upwards position shows a downwards arrow on the screen, opposite of what is happening on your screen, the up and down positions of my switches seem reversed? Same with the arm switch, facing up, on screen arrow pointing down. Do I trust the physical position or what I see on screen? 🤷🏼♂️ and how can I get these things to correspond? Thanks ! Working my way through this whole series.
great video thanks! i have a radiomaster tx16s mkII - unfortunately i can only set aux 1 - aux 4 (betaflight), which equals to aux 5 - aux 8 on the remote .. the rest just won't work (nothing happens in betaflight), any idea why?
Hey Steve . So how would I get the 2 dial S1 S2 to work the hover pitch and throttle pitch to work in helicopters .
Older radios had the dials to fine tune the rpm’s of the rotor head .

But when i am in beta flight, and i flip switches. They are not responding in beta flight. So i can not set up the aux 5 till 8. I tryd multiple times, but i cant figure it out?

Best of the best. I do however have a problem renaming an input name. When the current name is Disa and I try to add additional letters "rm", it highlights Disa and I wind up in a loop.
So, how do I add letters or even just an empty space to an existing name?
I used the wizard to set up my first Quad. For some reason my Input and Mixes page aren't the same. Input = AETR , Mixes = RETA
Why is it like that? Did I goof up somewhere along the process? Do I just reassign the Mixes to match the Input page? Thanks for taking a look. I've confirmed I'm set up for AETR in the SYS, so I'm baffled as to how this came to be.
Very nice video but I'm missing the point of configuring on the radio that channel is armed or disarmed. It's only for labeling purposes to let radio know when quad is armed or not? It seems like arm switch will be send anyway even if input will be just mixed to channel 5. The actual ARM happens in Flight Controller on the drone itself.
Open TX is the software that communicates between the transmitter and the Flight Controler

Help!! I can't connect my tx16s to beta flight! Turn on my radio master tx16s, (it finds telemetry) then plug in a Li-po to my quad, and then connect to computer. On Betaflight it shows that my quad is connected but no values from my receiver are moving!

@@ilikevisa Yes! I paired the TX16s to the quad while it was still plugged into the computer. It works great now
@@Kovanoid Solved my issue too. I held down the bind button on my receiver for to long and it switched it to a different mode.
I want thank you for your help but I think I might had set up my iflight nazgu5 incorrect. It’s Bind to the Radiomaster TX16S The motor spends it seems like the propellers are on wrong only the front of the drone pops up. and a few times it did that and the motors just stop so I disarmed it and armed it back on it was fine but still know hovering can you tell me what I’m doing wrong or what I did wrong? 🙏🙏🙏
Great video. Slow and detailed. I just wondering when would I use the buzzer?
Oh man, I use the buzzer all the time! The buzzer switch makes the ESCs beep, so if you lose your quad (but have a general idea where it is) you can make the ESCs beep and find it easier. Lifesaver sometimes!

I followed your directions to the letter and I got my RadioMasterTX16S to bind with the quad but it wont arm and it doesn't see the receiver on Betaflight. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Steve again thank you for the video. I've setup the Radiomaster TX16s like in the video. But the moment I connect it to Betaflight most of the controllers are off. Like the arm switch is on SF but in Betaflight it gets on SG where I put my modes on like in the video. Any tips perhaps? Thank you

Following along on my first binding, in betaflight, its popylated a "flip over" for my freestyle2. It comes up as aux4, i enter it in inputs as well as mixes but after hitting switch (SA), theres no movement of the switch in betaflight. what am i doing wrong?

Steve: I followed your steps exactly and set up my tx16s the same. Went to betaflight and only get SF and SB are the only switches that have output. My module is 1.3.30 and firmware is 2.3.11. Any ideas or suggestions.
