Back in the day when I was so young I was watching all his playthroughs man I miss it. I kinda fell out of my youtube phase and stopped watching a lot of the youtubers that honestly kinda shaped me the way I am today.
This game changed my life, and the other game about Rachel's and chloe's backstory and how they met, it is just perfect, magical and mellow. Rachel and Chloe are the best, both meant for eachother- it hits real bad when you know what happens to Rachel in the end, it is all beautiful and tragic at the same time, can't get enough of these games and especially, Chloe and Rachel.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. This is exactly how I feel about this game and especially Life is Strange: Before the Storm is my all-time favorite story. It may has a lot of plot-holes, some superfluous characters and weird gameplay scenes but its story is absolutely moving and Rachel with Chloe along with the events they are going through in their lives both individually and together are so relatable, realistic and more grounded than the original Life is Strange. No superpowers needed to create a quality story. Rachel especially has a special place in my heart, haven’t related to anyone else in my life more than her and this makes the game powerful - relatability.

Spoiler: don't read if you haven't played Life is Strange Samuel is future Warren from Life is Strange 1. That explains how Samuel not only can see the future, but he's also guiding Max. Also, Samuel says 'young Max' as to insinuate that Samuel knows the old Max. Why? Old Max and Warren time traveled together to the day Max first got her powers. Because Max chose wrong. In the ending scene Max chose to save Arcadia Bay but now that old Max realize that she can time rewind without actually creating a tornado after mastering her powers, she now aims to change her first ending pick. She now wants to pick another ending where she saves Chloe.
just as jack said "is that a tornado?", the tornado siren went off in my town. it scared the crap out of me. (not literally but I screamed, thinking the tornado in the game hit my town irl. thankfully it was a test to make sure it was working) PERFECT TIMING TORNADO SIREN!!!!

Same here. Except I don't have an actual polaroid camera sadly, because film for it is really expensive (8 pictures for like $25) but I just got a Fujifilm Insta mini 8. It's a cute little camera that takes cute little pictures :) Film isn't quite as expensive as for a Polaroid, and the camera itself is more modern. But it takes instant photos and doesn't save them digitally.

This video came out EIGHT YEARS AGO, when I was in middle school. I remember watching it and falling in love with this game; the characters, the aesthetics, the story... I saw it for sale at Target and begged my mom to buy it for me. It made me fall in love with the vibe of the Pacific Northwest and now I'm planning my trip to finally visit Washington and Oregon, as well as one of the towns that inspired Arcadia Bay. Talk about a butterfly effect :')
I saw it in elementary school (probably not a good idea lmao.) I'm in my sophmore year of college now. All my music, so much of my personality, comes from these games. It's insane how much of me is life is strange 1 and before the storm.
9 years later and I'm still infuriated by the fact that Jack is either really oblivious or too lazy to interact with other things. Either way, I'll still rewatch this for the third time :p

Actually these type of games are my absolute favorite. Life is Strange, Firewatch, Inside, Unravel. I like a chill and story-like games and Jack's gameplay of them is just perfect. I have watched the series multiple times and my god I love them. 2 hours per episode? Hell, yeah.

The writing is actually pretty good. Max sounds exactly like a teenage girl in a liberal arts school in the pacific northwest. Especially the part where she just invokes "climate change" any time the discussion touches on weather.
I suspect some of the awkwardness in wording/phrasing comes from the fact that the original script was French and translated to English. Especially with an original French script catered to a teenage audience, it was probably filled with a whole lot of French slang, French pop culture references, and French teenage humor of a kind that might have been a bit difficult to translate to English at times. Humor and slang are especially difficult and awkward to translate across languages/cultures. Also explains why the students say au revoir sometimes as a farewell.

This video came out EIGHT YEARS AGO, when I was in middle school. I remember watching it and falling in love with this game; the characters, the aesthetics, the story... I saw it for sale at Target and begged my mom to buy it for me. It made me fall in love with the vibe of the Pacific Northwest and now I'm planning my trip to finally visit Washington and Oregon, as well as one of the towns that inspired Arcadia Bay.

I saw it in elementary school (probably not a good idea lmao.) I'm in my sophmore year of college now. All my music, so much of my personality, comes from these games. It's insane how much of me is life is strange 1 and before the storm.

Actually these type of games are my absolute favorite. Life is Strange, Firewatch, Inside, Unravel. I like a chill and story-like games and Jack's gameplay of them is just perfect. I have watched the series multiple times and my god I love them. 2 hours per episode? Hell, yeah.

The writing is actually pretty good. Max sounds exactly like a teenage girl in a liberal arts school in the pacific northwest. Especially the part where she just invokes "climate change" any time the discussion touches on weather.
I suspect some of the awkwardness in wording/phrasing comes from the fact that the original script was French and translated to English. Especially with an original French script catered to a teenage audience, it was probably filled with a whole lot of French slang, French pop culture references, and French teenage humor of a kind that might have been a bit difficult to translate to English at times. Humor and slang are especially difficult and awkward to translate across languages/cultures. Also explains why the students say au revoir sometimes as a farewell.
Too bad the rest of the writing sucks
