The Katwalk C2 Plus has precision movement 1:1 with the feet sensors, and has a fold down seat for games that transition from running to jumping into a vehicle/ spaceship etc so you can be seated for flying and driving….then get out of the vehicle and start walking again. Knox Labs in the US is selling the Katwalk C2 Plus for 1k less…. I just checked and with shipping it is 1800. If the Omni One is over 2500+ without shipping as an introductory price ….that alone is significantly more expensive. We will have emulation software for PCVR games, so you may be able to use a haptic suit with a PCVR game that supports it. It will depend on the design of the suit, and whether it can function with a belt, shoulder straps, and back padding in close contact with it at those points.

That omnidirectional treadmill is actually real. It's called an Infinadeck. I'm pretty sure it's for commercial applications because it's huge. But they used it on Ready Player One.
This is one of those ideas that everybody thought of but only a few could realize. I have an idea that's possibly better, but it would be much more expensive and you wouldn't be standing on the ground. Not giving the rest away.
As long as you guys keep your promise of selling the pcvr only dev kit version of the omni one for 1000 dollars, i will buy it. I don't think that the strategy of using a pico 3 with the treadmill instead of even a pico 4 at least and selling it for over 2k is going to work out for you. Also you need some good software for pcvr too, like how katwalk does so that its compatible with any game woth smooth locomotion. Kat walk c2 prices are outrageously expensive and you need to complete with them and you cant do that unless if you have a 1k pcvr version like originally promised aswell.
We are not trying to compete with a device that acts only as a peripheral (with the limitations that come with that approach). However, we will have emulation software as well - so, the best of both worlds.
Nice to see this is still alive. I actually live in Austin within walking distance of virtuix. But this demo sucked. Show us running, show us walking sideways, backing up. Kat VR is running circles around you. In terms of shipping, price, PR, etc. And from the demos, I'm concerned you might just have an inferior product. I'd like to see a premium alternative to Kat, but it isn't clear this is it, and this product took way too long to release. Notably, it hasn't even released yet, while Kat walk C2 launched last year.
Hi Joshua, thank you for the feedback! We have a video on our channel that demonstrates running - Omni One: Step Into The Game. As I haven't tried the KAT C2, I can't comment on the build quality, but we're confident that we offer a more premium product; for example, we bundle Omni One with a fully compatible headset that doesn't require tinkering by the end user, which results in a much better experience.
From what I see the Kat VR is nowhere comparable to the Omni. In terms of quality the Omni is clearly superior since it conforms to your back position. There is no way I would call it an inferior product. Just take a look at videos of a Kat VR if you haven't tried it yet and it is like a back brace. It's not super comfortable or immersive. The only reason I'm not getting the Omni is the price. The introductory price is already twice that of the kat and I assume it will only get more expensive when it actually launches. I'm currently in the process of determining what games I want and will probably buy the Kat later this year. I've done the Kat VR before, but IDK how long I will keep using it. If I don't get bored of it I'm probably going to buy a second kat instead of an Omni so I can play with friends unless I experience a major issue with the Kat that the Omni solves, or if the Omni manages to half their price in a year.
@@VirtuixOmni How can you say the Omni is superior to the Katwalk if you haven't tried it, lol. Sorry, but that's ridiculous. I have a Katwalk c2 and it's very well made and can hold me hanging horizontally at 200lbs no problem. Plus it has a seat. Oh and it allows for all steam vr games, not just a few pico 3 games that honestly look pretty simple which would get old fast. Put Skyrim vr and other steam games on here and maybe...
@@justaguydoinstuff I wasn't commenting on the build quality, but the premium aspect. To give another example of what I mean, I understand that there is more self-assembly involved in putting the C2 together, whereas there are fewer pieces to put together with Omni One, which doesn't require any tools. I've heard that one person dented the base of their C2 from a tool they dropped onto it during assembly. You will be able to play Skyrim VR with Omni One, using our emulation software.
@@VirtuixOmni The Katwalk is pretty easy to put together honestly. Only a few parts so I don't see that as an issue. And if you drop a heavy metal object on even thick plastic, sure it'll dent. I'm sure it would do the same to the Omni. Also, the arm that the Omni uses looks like it would be more vulnerable to breakage than the straight one piece back that the Katwalk has. I'm not hating on the Omni, I just think you may have made questionable choices. Your other posts say that you may have emulation software in the future to use Steam VR games but that wasn't your focus and don't know how well it will work. That's a far cry from Katwalks universal compatibility that it already has now. I would like you to succeed, but you would need to lower the price quite a bit since the Katwalk is only 1500.00, has a seat, is universally compatible with steam vr and takes up a smaller area. Just my thoughts.
Yes, you will be able to do this with our emulation software and a PCVR headset (or standalone headset connected to a PC). We don't have a firm date for when our emulation software will be ready to roll out, as we are still focused on the core product.
The player doesn't seem to be able to run, it should be a vest, which would also vibrate when hit and the mechanical arm should be "pineumatic or hydraulic" so that when he jumps, the jump would be higher and he would only touch the ground when the avatar touched it. on the floor too.
I love my 4 Kat walk C2+'s. Way cheaper, better quality, seat to sit on, platform vibrates, and easy to use with every headset including the PlayStation VR. You could have at least turned on the fan for the poor guy. Seems like Virtuix jacked up the price to cover costs after everyone cancelled like what happened to Yaw2.
Try to add sensors that will alert headset if an object in real life is to close. Have a heartbeat sensor that will stop the machine or alert the user if it reaches unsafe levels with the option to enable or disable safety
Compatibility is going to be the sink-or-swim part. If they head towards the Apple approach of "only are stuff works together" or needs complicated workarounds it will sink very quickly. Along with how expensive this unit is. They keep bringing up peripherals but that's what this item is an adjunct to gaming as they do not have the current library to stand independently they need to lean on established products to get there legs under them to be stable in the current market, especially in the current economic downturn.
Omni One will come with an upgraded headset - the Pico 4E. This is a comfortable headset, and third-party accessories exist offering a range of comfort options.
This doesn't often happen. Fogging usually only occurs if the lenses are cold - this happens to glasses when you walk in from the cold, also, and clears up quickly by itself.
@@VirtuixOmni If you’re in an air conditioned room and you sweat, you bet they’re going to fog. Happens all the time. All kinds of people trying to come up with solutions to stop fog. This is from the first day it was installed, I believe. With practice your movement becomes more confident and natural looking - it's a little like riding a bicycle in that respect, much easier after some practice.
I live in Austin, Texas is there a place here where I can try this?
Hi, you can look up your nearest location here: arena.virtuix.com/locations
Hey Virtuix, am I going to get one? I prordered your original Omni treadmill like 7 years ago and never received it. I attempted to request a refund which all emails were ignored. Any chance we can work this out?
I'm sorry to hear this! Please email us again, including your UA-cam name in the email, so that I know that we have received your request.
I never sat down when playing in VR. Unless it's a platformer which you can play that sitting down. But this would be great to use to walk around in vr
Can you use a haptic suit with this?
It looks like you can, but I need confirmation.
I dont mind if it's not perfect.
We will have emulation software for PCVR games, so you may be able to use a haptic suit with a PCVR game that supports it. It will depend on the design of the suit, and whether it can function with a belt, shoulder straps, and back padding in close contact with it at those points.
@@VirtuixOmni Yeah, I'm more interested in VR development, so Im not too concerned with the PCVR library.
Thanks for answering my question :)
What is the retail cost?
The introductory price is $2,595 - this includes the amazing Pico Neo 3 Pro headset!
Are we able to play any VR game with smooth locomotion? Or are we still forced to play only Omni developed games?
We won't exclude anyone from hooking up Omni One to a PC or laptop for PC-based VR, but that will require some tinkering and is not our advertised approach.
@@VirtuixOmni Why though? isn't an open source approach the best option. Especially for something already so niche' to make this as flexible as possible. Not going to help in anyway if you focus on it being proprietary to one company.
@@scenenuf We don't advertise this approach because a regular consumer doesn't want to fiddle around with settings, setups, etc. It may be okay for an enthusiast to do it, and again, we won't block that.
What VR headset is that??
We now bundle Omni One with the Pico 4E, but at the time of the first delivery it was the Pico Neo 3 Pro.
The next one should take inspiration from the Holotron (full body motion and haptics simulator).
They need arm band and leg(exo- skeleton) bands for resistance
Looks like it needs to accommodate a wider gate
Where do I buy this now?
For receiving Omni One, investors in the US have the option of waiting until the final unit is available, or taking part in the beta program, which will likely last until Q4. The final unit will become available for investors to order around then, prior to general sale. To apply for the beta program, US investors must complete the beta application - the link for this is included in our investor newsletters. When general sales begin, initially, Omni One will be available to consumers in North America, with the rest of the world to follow. We have a page where you can sign up to be notified as soon as pre-orders for Omni One start: omni.virtuix.com/.
It will be available in Argentina? I'm really exciting to buy an omni arena to start a family bussines
We will be shipping Omni One within the U.S. first, with international orders to follow. Omni Arena is not available outside of North America at this time, but you can sign up for updates through our website. Thank you for your interest!
Oooh amazing! And if i buy 4 omni one, this 4 equipment can be connect with other? I mean to play the 4 in one game and do that until the omni arena comes to Argentina

Unlike other alternatives, Omni One is a complete entertainment system that comes with its own VR headset and content platform, but can also connect to a PC for development or use with other content platforms using our emulation software.

Looks good, been following this for a while. Needs the ability to connect to PC games. Or just better AAA games to be compatible

It won't work with a HP Reverb G2 connected to PC?
Where can I read more info about this?

Even without our emulation software, this may be possible (using third party alternatives), but we haven't tested this yet, and again, it is not our advertised approach, as it would require some effort to configure. We are headed to all those future dystopian movies scenarios. They’re already trying to get rid of cash
That omnidirectional treadmill is actually real. It's called an Infinadeck. I'm pretty sure it's for commercial applications because it's huge. But they used it on Ready Player One.

I gotta get me one of those.
This looks cool but its probably mad expensive like 10 grand or some shit.
Take a shot every time he says “on a cough with a controller”
Make it compatible with steam vr and its a steal!
Just my thoughts.
i just want to be able to walk around skyrim. when will this happen?
Yes, you will be able to do this with our emulation software and a PCVR headset (or standalone headset connected to a PC). We don't have a firm date for when our emulation software will be ready to roll out, as we are still focused on the core product.
@@VirtuixOmni ill be waiting...
The player doesn't seem to be able to run, it should be a vest, which would also vibrate when hit and the mechanical arm should be "pineumatic or hydraulic" so that when he jumps, the jump would be higher and he would only touch the ground when the avatar touched it. on the floor too.

ITS A CRAZY WORLD
I love my 4 Kat walk C2+'s.
Sonic Frontiers should be fun with this... 😂
They need a seated version for those less capable
The main limitation is the long sessions. You can't play 3-4h continuously without having a heart attack
We recommend taking regular breaks.
Make an alert system that makes sure they know when to take a break
How much weight will it support if someone thinks they are falling, then they lean too far
Enable a distance walked tracker.
We will have emulation software for PCVR games to help players who want to use other headsets and software platforms.

Omni One will come with an upgraded headset - the Pico 4E. This is a comfortable headset, and third-party accessories exist offering a range of comfort options.
Until they make fog free headsets, this is just a novelty.
One way is to use a hair dryer to heat the headset up beforehand. That prolongs fogging significantly but after about a half hour, they begin fogging again.
@@EyeForKnowledge. It hasn’t been an issue for me, but I’m sure there are solutions for anyone encountering this problem. Adjusting the air conditioning, or staying cool so as to sweat less, for instance. In hot conditions I have a fan pointed at me. If your face becomes sweaty, just removing the headset for a moment can help - it’s good to take breaks in any case.
